Funds raised through contributions, endowments and membership fees are used to provide services in Will, Grundy and part of Kendall Counties.

Program Fees: When reviewing this brochure, you will notice two fees listed by most class offerings.

The first fee listed is the discounted fee a Facility Member pays and the second is the fee a Community Member pays.

General Information

The Greater Joliet Area YMCA accepts cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover. In most cases, phone registration is accepted for current members when paying by a credit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT). Outstanding balances must be paid before a member will be allowed to register for future programs. Facility Members must maintain their memberships throughout the duration of a program in order to pay Facility Member pricing. System credits and promotional codes may be used online.

All classes have a maximum and minimum number of participants.

When possible, classes will be added to accommodate wait lists and to expand those offerings that are in high demand. Classes below the minimum will be combined when possible, and as a last alternative, will be cancelled.

SUPERVISED PLAYROOM Healthy parents are happy parents. Let your child have fun at the Y while you take time for yourself to get fit.

There is no need to call ahead.

Parents must remain in the facility while their children are in the playroom.

TOGETHER Because the health and safety of our YMCA community remains our top priority, we are doing everything possible to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety. We have also made modifications to our policies and programs to facilitate new safety and social distancing guidelines.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT To maintain a healthy environment, all members and staff will be required to adhere to the following health and safety guidelines when visiting our YMCA facilities.

If you have any concerns or questions during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team.

Required Health Screening Upon entering the YMCA, both members and staff will be required to answer 5 health screening questions: 1. Have you or anyone in your household traveled to another country in the last 14 days?

2. Have you been in contact with someone under investigation for, or with a confirmed case of, COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

3. Have you or a family member in your household been instructed to self-quarantine?

4. In the last 3 days, have you experienced a fever of 100.4 or higher?

5. Are you currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19?

For the safety and well-being of our YMCA community, anyone who answers YES to any of the above questions will not be permitted to visit the YMCA on that day.

Masks Are Required Both members and staff will be required to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when visiting the Y. Members should plan to have a mask or face covering with them at all times, and will be expected to wear it at the Y when not exercising.

Frequent Handwashing and Sanitizing Members and staff will be asked to help prevent the spread of germs by washing their hands upon entering any YMCA facility. For your convenience, we have installed additional hand sanitizers throughout our YMCA.

Required Equipment Wipedown When using the wellness center, please remember to wipe down equipment before and after use with the EPAapproved disinfectant we have provided.

Staggered Equipment To allow for social distancing, some equipment in our wellness center may be temporarily closed or relocated.

Limiting Class Sizes and Room Capacities To ensure members can safely practice social distancing while visiting the YMCA, we will temporarily be limiting the number of people allowed in YMCA classes, programs, and spaces. In the wellness center, members will notice that red boxes have been installed on the floor around certain pieces of equipment. To ensure social distancing, only one person is permitted in each red box at a time.

We ask for your continued cooperation as we work together to keep our members and staff safe and healthy. We want to keep our doors open for as many members as possible. Doing so means taking safety seriously. If you have any concerns or questions at any time during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team. As the exclusive provider of the before and after school program for Morris Grade School District 54 and the exclusive provider for after school programs for Saratoga District 60C, the Morris Community YMCA has the distinct pleasure of working each day with the youth in our community. With the start of the new school year quickly approaching, we continue to monitor updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local, state and federal health officials to ensure our YMCA is prepared to safely welcome students this fall.

Although the 2020-2021 school year will look a little different, we remain dedicated to working with our partner school districts to provide much-needed child care for families like yours.

Attention all parents! If you’re in need of a little time to yourselves, sign the kids up for Kids’ Night Out (KNO)! During KNO, kids, ages 4-12, are invited to come to the Y for a night of fun. Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League

Ages 17 and Up If you’re looking for a little friendly competition, the Morris Community YMCA has got you covered!

• Open to anyone 17 and older.

• Minimum of two women required on the court at all times during game play.

SMALL GROUP CLASSES Bodyweight Training with TRX

Ages 16 & Up In this 45 minute class you will pair TRX with different body weight exercises in high volume (reps), low resistance (weight) workouts. Great for all levels of fitness and experience, this class will be primarily geared at improving muscle tone and definition, while also improving functional strength, flexibility, balance, and core stability with TRX! Ages 16 & Up In this 45-minute class you will use the TRX Suspension Trainer, which will give participants an edge over conventional strength training because every Suspension Training exercise builds true functional strength and improves flexibility, balance and core stability all at once! Facility Members are encouraged to meet with a member of our fitness staff for a free one-hour fitness consultation. During this session, our staff will help you to identify your health and wellness goals, provide you with a fitness evaluation, an orientation in our Wellness Center, and provide you with an overview of our group exercise and personal training programs.

This free consultation will help you take the first step on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.

1-1 Personal Training

FitStart is a program designed for the new exerciser or those who have trouble sticking to a workout program.

Throughout the 12-week program, participants will meet with a Fit Coach up to four times. During these meetings, your workouts will be evaluated and, as your fitness level increases, so will your workout intensity. The first session will consist of cardio. Your second and third sessions will introduce you to strength training equipment and the fourth session will review and make sure you are comfortable with your new fitness plan.

FitStart is not personal training, but your coach will help you determine and meet your goals FitStart is free to Facility Members.

Our eight-week Holiday Weight Maintenance Challenge will help you get in shape and keep the weight off this holiday season. We have a great plan to help you adopt healthy eating and exercise habits while saying ‘No’ to those tempting holiday cravings. Are you up for the challenge?

Registration Opens October 19 Weigh In November 16-21 Half-Way Weigh-In December 14-19 Weigh Out January 4-8 If you can maintain your weight within 2 pounds for 8 weeks, you will receive your money back in the form of a $20 Y bucks credit that can be used towards any program, including personal training. If you gain more than 2 pounds during this eightweek challenge, $20 will be donated in your name to the Y’s Mission Strong Fund.
