Campus Theatre -Texas State Historical Marker

Denton’s Historic Campus Theatre is a beloved cultural landmark in downtown Denton, Texas, originally built in 1949 as a state-of-the-art movie house serving the nearby UNT and Texas Woman’s University communities. Designed in the Art Moderne style with its distinctive neon accents and geometric façade, it operated as a cinema until 1985 before later being restored and transformed into a thriving performing arts venue managed by Theatre Denton. Today, the Campus Theatre hosts live productions, film festivals, and community events, continuing its long legacy as one of Denton’s most iconic gathering places.

Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center

Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center in Denton, Texas, offers a serene escape into more than 2,900 acres of protected bottomland forests, upland prairies, and aquatic habitats. Denton Skate Park

The skate park is free and open daily from 6am to 10am, closing only for scheduled clinics and camps. It features a variety of ramps and rails at different heights, including a corner bowl, 3-foot and 5-foot half pipes, a fun box with a half-pyramid, and a separate area designed for beginners.

The Greenbelt Corridor

The Greenbelt Corridor is a 20-mile multi-use trail stretching along the Elm Fork Branch of the Trinity River, offering 12 miles for equestrians and 10 miles for bicyclists and hikers as it runs from below the Ray Roberts Dam to the headwaters of Lake Lewisville. Operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife, this popular nature route provides a natural playground for hiking, biking, horseback riding, rollerblading, geocaching, and relaxing in the outdoors, with hunting and firearms prohibited. Adventure seekers can access the trail from three trailheads—each equipped with restrooms, parking, and river entry for kayaks and canoes—using either a daily entrance fee or a Texas State Parks Pass.
