New Features Introduced By Google For Travelers In 2021 Google is busy adding new features to travelers who are looking for travel information online in 2021. Travel has been put on the back seat for some time now due to the global coronavirus pandemic, which has meant more people have been putting their travel plans on hold. Search trends are showing a renewed interest in travel, which has resulted in Google including new features, helping people plan their next vacation with ease. Searches for hotels around the world reached a ten-year high in April 2021, along with searches on travel restrictions and what countries are open to visitors. As a result, Google is rolling out three exciting new features to answer those questions quickly, providing updated travel advisories. The features introduced are designed to keep travelers updated on travel guidance, along with potential destinations, offering valuable information and assistance. When searching for travel information online, from flights to hotels and things to do and see, Google lets the person know what COVID-19 advisories are currently in place, along with restrictions, based on the person's desired destination choice. As demand rises, Google now adds travel restriction details, such as whether quarantine on arrival is needed or whether you need test results or a vaccination record to travel there. Searchers will have the ability to track travel restrictions and advisories on their chosen destinations, getting the most updated results emailed to them. When viewing travel advisories, users will see a “Receive an email if this guidance changes.” This ensures travelers remain updated, receiving notification when new restrictions are added, reduced, or lifted. The updates are country-specific. Google has updated Explore to assist people in finding their travel destinations for their next vacation. Google Explore map has been assisting users with finding flights with the prices for some time, to a variety of destinations. Explore has introduced its own tag, which helps users find more than flights. Users will have access to more destinations on the map, including national parks and smaller cities, along with destination filters based on travel interests, such as sea, exploring, skiing, and more. Google's recommendations will be based on the chosen method of travel. Once the users choose a destination, the search engine advises of any travel restrictions and advisories, along with flights, useful information, hotels, the best time to travel, and things to do. For those who have chosen to stay inside their own country and enjoy a road trip, Google Maps is on hand to help, every step of the way. Google Maps can be used on a computer, where you enter your starting and ending point. The search engine makes suggestions along the way, such as parks, rest stops, hotels, and campgrounds. You can add a specific location to your stop, helping to plan your entire journey. The directions can be sent to your phone via email, text, or by using the Google Maps app. The journey can be updated at any time, using your phone. You can find new stops along the way and remove any previously planned stops. With more people looking to travel again in the coming months as countries slowly lift travel bans and restrictions, more people will find Google a useful tool with a host of new features for those ready to travel.
