CIRCUL AR ECONOMY
2021 IN FACTS AND FIGURES
WORK ING TOGETHER ON A CIRCUL AR ECONOM Y As a waste treatment company, Indaver provides sustainable waste management and raw materials management. As ‘enabler’ we work with technologies that help us to recover every joule of energy and every kilo of material from waste streams. As ‘gatekeeper’ we provide safe solutions for hazardous waste products so they can’t go back into a cycle.
We give our staff the space and resources to further develop their professional knowledge and expand on their talents. As employer, Indaver is always looking for innovative solutions and new perspectives for complex waste issues. We combine competitive entrepreneurship with

ment, corporate-social responsibility and economy can go hand-in-hand.
We work continuously on value creation from waste and use our knowledge and experience to repurpose waste streams as usefully as possible. Indaver supplies secondary raw materials and sustainable energy for the circular economy. Thus, we create value and contribute to the sustainable production of raw materials. We help to close materials loops and, as a waste management company we are part of the chains that are working towards the circular economy. Indaver operates in an energy-efficient manner in which it reduces CO2 emissions as much as possible.
“We want to play a key role in the circular economy. By doing so, we are creating added value for our customers and for society.” Paul De Bruycker, Indaver CEO

2021 IN FACTS AND FIGURES
FROM WA S TE TO R AW MATER IAL S AND ENERGY Indaver manages 5.3 million tons of hazardous and non-hazardous waste each year. We recover as many materials and energy as possible from these waste streams, whilst keeping hazardous substances out of the loop. With this, Indaver is an enabler (facilitator) and gatekeeper of the circular economy.
GATEKEEPER Waste products in the grey chain contain hazardous substances, also known as contaminants, and have a low circular potential.
ENABLER Waste products in the green chain are relatively pure and therefore have a high circular potential. We recover as many materials and as much energy as possible from this.
