virtually inaccessible, the Galápagos Islands lie 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. Only the few animals that could fly, swim, or survive without fresh water managed the open-ocean journey. Tortoises, lizards, seabirds, and a handful of land birds were favored; most terrestrial mammals had no chance. Without land predators, the surviving species lost any fear of land mammals, including humans, much to the delight of visitors.

the galápagos national park service sets the itineraries for all vessels, including Integrity. To reduce visitor impact on popular sites, no yacht may visit any site more than once every two weeks. Yacht owners the Sievers family—read about the Sievers on the last page—have selected two of the most compelling and efficient itineraries possible for Integrity. Each Integrity cruise begins with a day on Santa Cruz Island, finding giant tortoises in the wild and exploring the Charles Darwin Research Station, before embarking on a week long journey through the islands. By spending extra time on Santa Cruz before boarding the yacht, Integrity can then spend more time cruising to some of the more rewarding visitors sites on outlying islands—an option not available on any other one week cruise.
The Western Route features the younger, active islands of Isabela and Fernandina, whereas the Eastern Route features the older islands of Española, San Cristóbal, and Genovesa. On many islands, you’ll explore more than one visitor site and have plenty of opportunities to snorkel and kayak.

integrity—that’s what the Galápagos resident and owner Rolf Sievers is all about. Immigrating from Germany with his parents at age 20, he helped his family scratch out a homestead in the rough volcanic land long before such luxuries as electricity, running water, or medical services came to the Galápagos Islands.
Rolf got his first job ($80 per month) tending the seismograph at the Charles Darwin Station in 1964. He quickly became manager of the station, a position he held for a decade before leaving in 1978 to start
small yacht tours of the beloved islands he calls home.
Today, nearly 50 years later, he, his wife Rosaura, and their two sons, Dirk and Christian, own, operate, and maintain the yacht Integrity from their base in Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz. The German penchant for perfection will be evident in every aspect of your journey.
Rolf believes, “If you have integrity, nothing else matters, if you don’t have integrity, nothing else matters.”
