ABSTRACT
The present paper highlights the background about Agadir new public Library with brief statistical profile. Various reasons for the construction of new library building for the City of Agadir , key facts about the Library Building, major facilities and the areas of Library Building are also discussed. Selected distinguished features like the usage of CLT as the main material, landscaping, tectonic system is also described in detail.
Further to this, the paper underlines the role of the Library to achieve academiclearning and amusing opportunities, with quiet spaces for study and information-seeking, places to collaborate and interact with other people ,collection display, and multifunction spaces for events and programs, exhibitions.. “We wanted to create a very legible building for Ningbo ,” says Hardie. “The previous library was quite labyrinthine, so Ningbo New Library has intentional spatial clarity.” Common points with my design :more opened areas than closed one

07. TECTONIC SYSTEM Structure Materials Mep system
( structure precedent) The sports complex is composed of supple curves. Imagined as a genuine sports city, its undulating standing seam aluminum envelope also meets the strict technical and aesthetic requirements for design. Touching the ground on its north and south façades, it protects the urban environment from noise pollution , The engineering office Charpente Concept designed high-performance steel assemblies, suited to CLT which for the most part were invisible. Detailed design work enabled structural engineers at Poulingue, the appointed contractor for the frame and roof, to erect the huge spans easily to their place in the structure Common points with my design : the use of CLT as the main material in the building steel roof connected to wood frame structure curves in the roof that makes the biggest challenge
Library structure The building is eco friendly since it’s mainly built with Cross laminated timber The geometry of the wooden roof structure is extremely va ria ble a nd complex. The fa ca des tra nsfers loa ds to the wooden fra me, but do not contribute to the overa ll sta bility of the building. This wa s solved by a grilla ge fra me structure ma de of CLT bea ms. The structure tra nsfers the loa ds from roofing, while imposing the desired a rchitectura l form. The roof consists of a wood fra me structure connected to ea ch other
The bracing is completed with a metal diagonal between every rafter. Throughout these 16 weeks journey we had the chance to work on a library project destinated to our city users , we experienced a lot of challenges while working on it from different points , the structure for example that was a nightmare for me but thankfully this pushed me to do more researches and double my work to finally understand how the structure works for curved wooden buildings , also thanks to the professors hard work they helped us a lot with their tutorials to achieve this final beautiful result , a big thanks also to our guest lecture Chris who shared with us his nice works and told us about the secret of a beautiful library that will draw a smile on people’s face , also we learned a lot about hand drawings , The thing that I would suggest for the next semester , maybe doing a tutorial before the assessment to look for what we must do exactly in order to prevent poor grades . We used to have two projects in last years' design class , I think one project per semester is better since we can focus more on it and work more on the development .
