Entropic Ecology
“Screens are no longer inert infrastructure but responsive membranes of collective experience.”
Co-curated by the China Academy of Art, PublicArtLab Berlin,MEETDigitalCulture Center Milan, and Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media (Singapore), CDSA focuses on themes that connect media architecture, environmental storytelling, speculative and science-inspired narratives, and AI-driven creativity.
Digital media art is now a core force in contemporary culture, and the fusion of urban space and artistic expression is becoming increasingly vital to how cities communicate, evolve, and imagine their futures.
Urban Screens
City Digital Skin Art reimagines urban surfaces— public screens, façades, and built environments—as dynamic cultural interfaces. It brings public art into digital form, injecting new vitality into urban life and transforming cityscapes into shared spaces of expression.
Founding Vision
Initiated by the School of Sculpture and Public Art at the China Academy of Art, CDSA unites emerging and established artists from around the world. It fosters creativity, bridges private and public spaces through digital “urban skin,” and champions innovative multimedia art that actively participates in public culture and social life.

New Opportunities: The Global Shift
THE GAP
Incredible venues exist
Very little culturally intelligent, researchdriven content travels across them
Immersive domes, spheres, and volumetric venues are the next cultural infrastructure
Science + AI + art content is high-demand, low-supply Asia (especially China) is aggressively investing in large-scale cultural technology
MEDIAARTNEXUS
MARKCHAVEZ·INACONRADI
TheContext WhyThisMattersNow
MARKET REALITY
Domes, spheres, and immersive venues are expanding globally
Infrastructure is outpacing content
China is investing heavily in cultural technology, but demands:
1. Proven models
2. International credibility
3. Scalable content circulation
TheProblemInfrastructure HasOutpacedContent
Venues such as domes, immersive spaces, and mega-urban screens face:
Content fatigue and recycled spectacle
Limited cultural and narrative depth
Weak international circulation
High production costs, limited reuse
In China
Strong infrastructure, venues and profit opportunities
Limited access to proven international, dome-ready content ecosystems and immersive spaces
