A minimalistic, sustainable and flexible temporary structure embraces Copenhagen's extreme weather conditions. Located 15 minutes from Nørreport Station, Østad station benefits from the flexibility of the new installation programmatically and structurally, extending the traditional Scandinavian market from the centre to the region of Østad.

Østad Urban Wings One walks under the stretching wing, looking out into the urban jungle, savoring a cup of warm coffee in his hands.

One walks out from the retracting wing, wondering around the gallery, music and markets on a rare sunny day.

Copenhagen has extreme weather conditions, thus it is crucial to minimize the existing "wind tunnel" under the station platform. Most users only enter the nearby shopping mall directly after they exit the station. How to attract more people to stay around the station and appreciate the nearby 8-House, VM Mountain, Bella Center, and other fascinating views?

The pond next to the station has been abandoned years ago. Instead of taking away the whole pond, a costly and environmental unfriendly endeavor, a flexible "wing" structure connects the pond and station. Acting as a public activator, the wing cleverly connects all the programs. It can be stretched and retracted according to the demands of the season or special events.

Re-invent an existing branch of the Brooklyn Public Library in New York. Targeting teenagers as the primary client and user group, the proposal responds to contemporary issues of the library typology in existing cultural settings.

The Spoken Forest The inhabitants act like neurons firing through the space/brain mass and making connections. The massive architectural manifestations endow the library with human thinking methodology structurally and spiritually: growing... expanding... and browsing.

The existing Brooklyn public library Bedford branch is not serving its purpose well - issues including poor lighting and reading environment, homeless people sleeping over, outdated choice of books, etc.

How to re-invent a teenager-friendly space that stimulates, motivates and speeds up learning? How to accomodate the partly conflicting interests of adult and teenager users?

Targeting tenagers as the primary clients, the forest conceptually and structurally emphasizes the The Bedford Village School

"reach/branch out" movement. Branches (books) visualize knowledge, connecting the different programs, which integrate one Plaza, one Pavilion and one Corridor. The programs are books, a media station, study areas, an events venue, and a bold, modern technology intergrated design element: a hemispherical screening room.

Following French philosopher Gilles Deleuze's "Desire Machine", the proposal for a new retail store for Housing Works uses parametric morphosis architectural language. It underscores the notion of social businesses increasingly dominated by explosive, commercialized eagerness and human desires.

One hides himself in the shelter, sitting under the dome of desire, being marginalised, yet feeling protected and satisfied.

the year of 2047: climate change / heavily polluted / bacteria / air pollution / lack of greens and water. it takes courage just to kiss and be intimate with someone you love. there's no way one can survive in this environment because people need to wear gas masks. water becomes rare and is more expensive than diamonds. animals only exist in tv. great love is a dangerous risk.

Group project: Recycling used aluminium sheets that are going to the trash can - using it one last time and bringing meanings and life for the specific material: The Age of Aluminium. To build a smallest room for one inhabitant. mimicking the wall as buildings, buildings as city, but city is just a small room, disconnecting human from nature.

莞衑 Designer, Run! An individual project commissioned and supported by T9 Graphic Studio during a 4 months internship in Shanghai, 2016.

A bag for designers who likes running. Majority of designers are living in a unhealthy state - spine, back, neck, etc. Some designers do sports everyday to ease their pressure both physically and mentally.

The bag is not simply designed as a "sport bag" for designers who likes running, but expressing the attitude. Inspired by Japanese traditional kinchaku bag - simplicity, flexibility, knobs, curvature two materials with a combination of 3 colors are applied to the final design. Opacity, translucency and texture are combined for a series of artsy and hipster design with the notion of sports.
