Following the 2003 US invasion, the site of old Governorate Building, located in the cultural district of AlRusafa, was heavily damaged. The empty shell is now used as a meeting point by locals. We reimagine the site as a mixed-use complex of dual identities - a design center for the new-age Iraqi creative forces; and a culture hub for the local community. This intertwining of user groups and programs creates a space that can serve the larger community by providing a space for fellowship, education, and discovery.

Østad Urban Wings. A Public Activator A minimalistic, sustainable and flexible temporary structure embraces Copenhagen's extreme weather conditions. Located 15 minutes from Nørreport Station, Østad station benefits from the flexibility of the new installation programmatically and structurally, extending the traditional Scandinavian market from the centre to the region of Østad.

Copenhagen has extreme weather conditions, thus it is crucial to minimize the existing "wind tunnel" under the station platform. Most users only enter the nearby shopping mall directly after they exit the station. How to attract more people to stay around the station and appreciate the nearby 8-House, VM Mountain, Bella Center, and other fascinating views?
"A rainy afternoon..." Hide and grab some food.
A rchitec t ure The pond next to the station has been abandoned years ago. Instead of taking away the whole pond, a costly and environmental unfriendly endeavor, a flexible "wing" structure connects the pond and station. Acting as a public activator, the wing cleverly connects all the programs. It can be stretched and retracted according to the demands of the season or special events.

a discussion on state of total surveillance
“We are Closed.” is a 9-months thesis BFA Interior Design project (Pratt Institute). A semester research was conducted first. This project is critical on many current social and political discussions. The aim of this thesis is not only using design strategy to bring up such awareness, but to potentially evoke bigger conversation and visions. In a dystopian totalitarian future, this project exploits visibility and temporality to liberate freedom of expression. Corporations surveil and impact every aspect of people’s lives. This project occupies sites of symbolic corporate power in NYC. The program veils and exposes: a speakeasy (a space of free speech) veiled by a club at night exists as an office of tomorrow during the day.
Speculative Future Monopolised corporation impacts and watches every aspect of people's life by storing data and governing. To address visibility and temporality by means of liberating freedom of expression, occupying numerous sites stands for symbolic power in NYC. Act as beacons, these sites challenge the idea of being veiled and exposed.

The Spoken Forest. A Teen Library Re-invent an existing branch of the Brooklyn Public Library in New York. Targeting teenagers as the primary client and user group, the proposal responds to contemporary issues of the library typology in existing cultural settings. The existing Brooklyn public library Bedford branch is not serving its purpose well - issues including poor lighting and reading environment, homeless people sleeping over, outdated choice of books, etc. How to re-invent a teenager-friendly space that stimulates, motivates and speeds up learning? How to accomodate the partly conflicting interests of adult and teenager users?

Quantumoji Exhibited as part of 2018 Gowanus Open studio, Brooklyn, New York. Installation, Exhibition, Film Media “Quantumoji” presents an office happening media installation by practising immersive Audio Visual experience towards various activities and happenings: laughing, commuting, sleeping, sex, death and so on. Video mapping “Quantumoji” onto huge scale inflatables, it invites you to an alter space cognition trip.
I nstallat ion Eighty years ago, Ludwig Wittgenstein had a brainwave: “a face with closed eyes and a half smile�. Our descriptions towards emotions would be much more flexible and various than they are as expressed by adjectives. While consciousness and cognition is shaped by language and communication- can our consciousness enter a quantum process of emoji as the only pictorial interaction?
Aluminium Age Installation, Photography, Film Media Recycling used aluminium sheets that are going to the trash can - using it one last time and bringing meanings and life for the specific material: The Age of Aluminium. To build a smallest room for one inhabitant. mimicking the wall as buildings, buildings as city, but city is just a small room, disconnecting human from nature.

Grown out from the wall, with traces of commercial prints on the skin. It is seducing us, devouring us. With dazzling colors, new structure, favored ergonomic form. Oh human... Stop being spoiled.

"A bag for designers who likes running." The bag is not simply designed as a "sport bag",, but expressing the attitude. Inspired by Japanese traditional kinchaku bag - simplicity, flexibility, knobs, curvature - two materials with a combination of 3 colors are applied to the final design. Opacity, translucency and texture are combined for a series of artsy and hipster design with the notion of sports.
