THE MAIN MOTIVATION BEHIND THE DEDICATION

In 2022, Wayne found inspiration from a song written by one of his favorite rap artists, Nipsey Hussle. The lyrics prompted him to consider the legacy he wished to leave for his son. It raised a thought-provoking question: “What would you want to define you? Someone else or yourself?” These powerful lyrics made Wayne question whether he truly wanted his son to remember him only as a salesperson at Nordstrom. With a resolute no, he decided that was not the legacy he wanted to leave behind. He vowed that if he were to pass away today or tomorrow, he wanted his son to remember him as a God-fearing man who passionately chased his dreams.

It is evident that Wayne aspires to be the type of parent his son can look up to and take pride in and that he fully understands the importance of being a positive role model, especially when faced with life's challenges. Each day presents its own set of obstacles, but Wayne embraces them, knowing that the way he navigates these difficulties will leave a lasting impression on his son. One of the ways he does this is by highlighting the importance of health and wellness.

Dwayne consistently shows his son that true wealth lies in good health, and that his dedication to maintaining his well-being often serves as a reminder that success comes from persistently putting in the effort, even when life gets tough. Wayne believes that even during times when you feel you have little to give, it's crucial to pour your heart into everything and keep striving for another day because you never know; tomorrow could be the moment you experience a breakthrough. He reminds his son and others that every day of perseverance is a triumph. He also teaches him that perseverance isn't solely about achieving visible progress; sometimes, simply enduring tough times can be a significant form of growth.

Wayne is purposeful in imparting timeless wisdom, such as the idea that failure does not truly exist. Instead, he highlights that every experience holds valuable lessons, and each setback provides insights that can influence our future choices and actions. His goal is to inspire his son to keep pushing through life's obstacles while also cherishing the journey. Most of all, Wayne wants his son to remember that this journey is a marathon, not a sprint. He emphasizes the importance of dreaming big while staying grounded in reality, reminding his son that it's okay to take things one step at a time.

Through his dedication and example, Dwayne aims to ensure that his son will grow up knowing that he, too, can define his own legacy, guided by the values and lessons passed down from a father who dared to dream and persevere.

Like father, like son.
