Tom and Tandi at the restaurant

Tom and Tandi’s family is on holiday at the seaside. They stop for lunch at the Blue Water Grill. They can see the ocean from their table.

“What are we going to eat?” asks Tom. Dad shows him the menu. There are pictures of sandwiches, salads, burgers and chips.

“You may choose something from here,” says Dad. Tom would like a burger and chips.

Mom and Dad each order a salad. Tandi wants a ham and cheese sandwich. Tom orders a green cold drink and Tandi asks for an orange juice.

The waiter writes down the order.

After a while, the waiter brings their drinks on a tray. “Thank you,” says Tom. Tandi smiles at the waiter.

“Would you like to colour?” asks the waiter.

“Yes, please!” says Tandi. The waiter brings her a colouring book and some crayons. She colours a picture of a pretty butter¶y.

Tom does not like colouring. He wants to go play instead. The restaurant has an indoor play area.

“All right, Tom, you may go play,” says Dad. “I will call you when it is time to eat.”
