WHAT IS THE BEST JOB?

The Christian ministry is the most noble and honorable job in the world. A true man of God is a “chosen instrument” in His hands and the most important person in a community.

SALESPEOPLE buy and sell things, but men of God buy the truth and never sell it (Proverbs 23:23). ELECTRICIANS make connections for us to have electricity, but men of God connect believers with God.

ENGINEERS design and build homes and highways, but men of God edify homes and show the high way to in Christ.

ATTORNEYS defend both fair and unfair causes, but men of God defend the fairest cause of all: the atonement of souls.

JUDGES give temporary sentences according to human law, but men of God give counsel in eternal and spiritual issues according to the divine law.

PHYSICIANS diagnose and treat physical diseases, but men of God treat spiritual illnesses.

BANKERS trade with money, while men of God have eternal, priceless wealth.

JOURNALISTS spread both good and bad news, but men of God announce the Good News of salvation in Jesus-Christ.

TEACHERS share their knowledge about subjects that may or may not become obsolete in time, but men of God teach God’s everlasting message.

FARMERS sow and cultivate seeds for the survival of humankind, but men of God sow and cultivate the seeds of God’s Word for the spiritual and eternal life of humankind.

POLITICIANS try to improve the living conditions of citizens in earthly nations, but men of God promote the improvement of personal conditions of citizens wherever they go.

Humankind was and will be able to survive without atomic disintegration, astronauts, spaceships and satellites, laser beams, computers and genetic engineering. However, without men of God, humankind would have perished long ago. The ultimate job is to serve, love and obey God.

The great preacher Spurgeon said once to his students: “If God calls you to be a minister, don’t stoop to becoming a king.”

Jesus said to his disciples: “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). And Apostle Paul said: “This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work” (1 Timothy 3:1). “As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things” (Romans 10:15).
