Mawgan Porth beach is just far enough from Newquay (4 miles) to avoid the crowds and summer excesses, yet benefit from the same golden sands and beautiful coastline. The beach here is sheltered by high cliffs to each side and at low tide there is ample sand for everyone, even on the busiest of days.

Mawgan Porth is a great family beach with lots of rockpools, caves and even a large stream running down the southern side of the beach. In terms of facilities there is everything you would expect from one of the region’s best beaches including disabled access.

There is seasonal lifeguard cover at Mawgan Porth and whilst swimming is generally safe this is also a popular surfing beach so is fairly exposed to the Atlantic swells.

Dogs welcome all year.
