Plaid Power Takes the Win!

Friday, August 3, 2023, marked the second annual powderpuff game that was held at the Country Line Stadium. The strong seniors and freshmen took on the speedy juniors and sophomores for one great game. From 4 to 8, there were many different food trucks out at the complex so families and students could enjoy before and during the game. Both teams had four practices within a week and a half and played their best on Friday. The seniors and freshmen were team Plaid Power and the juniors and sophomores were The Red Zone. Brothers Josh and Jake Henderson coached the teams to prepare. Coach Josh Henderson was the coach for Plaid Power and Jake Henderson was coaching The Red Zone. Football boys from all high school grades had the opportunity to coach their peers to prepare them for the game. Freshmen Bible teacher, Mr. Gossenberger, and basketball coach, Mr. LeBeau were the two referees that night.

There is no doubt that both teams had talent and their own special gifts, but ultimately there was only going to be one winner at the end of the night. Plaid Power started strong that night and made the first touchdown. Not long after, The Red Zone came in hot and followed along. Throughout the entire game, there was no clear answer about who was going to win. Back and forth the teams went trying to take the title of the winner. After many flags were pulled, the winner of Powderpuff 2023 was Plaid Power! The seniors and freshmen were thrilled to take a win after they seemed to be the underdogs compared to their opponents. This, however, is not the first win for the senior girls. Last year they played with the current juniors and took the win over last year’s seniors and freshmen. You can say the senior girls are the toughest girls on campus!

What's Going on in Eagle's Landing

In Eagle's Landing there are a million munchies to choose from but recently my favorite has been the All Mighty. It satisfies every craving the Immanuel man could have. A little bit of meat, some potatoes and a little bit of sriracha is the perfect ways to start your day. Sometimes I get a little bit of Sprite to wash it all down. This delicious breakfast is only leveled by McDonalds and even then, its hard competition. Some of the other delicious breakfast offerings include some other breakfast options include the delicious chocolate chip pancakes and if you want the healthy option you could get the blueberry pancakes.

But just like the necessity of Gas and the increases some of our lunch increases have been met with questions. such as "when will these prices drop I'm barely hanging on my lifted ford F150 only gets 2 miles to the gallon." Regardless of that shocking, yet expected increase, the line to Eagles Landing is always out the door.

Bachelor Advice

You heard it here first- *great bachelor advice, just in time for Sadies from the leprechaun himself! An interview with our very own bachelor, Josiah Burkhart!

When is the best time to ask a guy to Sadies?

When he least expects it. For example, when he is mid-bite, taking a drink, going to the bathroom, or asleep. Catch him off guard.

How should you ask a guy to Sadies?

You're like a brother to me, I'd love to go to Sadies with you." Keep them guessing and send those mixed signals.

What should you wear to Sadies?

Since the theme is 80's and I never go anywhere in public without one, a three piece suit. For the ladies, gym shorts and an oversized t-shirt...

Who should drive, pay for the food, and tickets? Obviously her; she needs to show her devotion. This goes for all other times other than Sadies too!

How do you deal with being rejected, but still be cool with the guy who rejected you? Move on. Ask his best friend instead.

*Please Note: the satire is strong with this one!

March Forward

By now, everyone has been introduced and is familiar with the vision of our Tribal system here at Immanuel Schools. Beginning last Spring, the concept of the Immanuel Man/Immanuel Woman Tribal systems were introduced to staff and students. This system promotes and facilitates growth in students and in the Immanuel community. Growth goals are in areas of academics, athletics, and most importantly, spritual growth in Christ. This month, Immanuel has begun what they are refering to as the March Forward campaign; essentially a school wide commitment to growing together in all of these areas. It is a huge push "forward" (see what I did there) in our relationships with Christ. Students and staff have attended special chapel times, are competing in various competitions during Flex, and earning points for their tribes by participating in service projects, attending school activities, and sending in pictures of fellow tribe members during the activities. Tribes have also been participating in teams on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Flex period in a variety of challenges, including bible verse memorization, bible quizzes, games, and other opportunities to earn points. Many of the tribes have reported the March forward campaign as being successful.
