We are Imex, a global leader in the sanitaryware industry, renowned for our innovative designs and commitment to excellence. With over 100 patents for design innovation, we have been recognised as an award-winning manufacturer.

Automated manufacturing

Since our inception in 1994, lmex has constantly evolved as a result of our attention to technological innovations. Now in the companies 30th year, lmex has upgraded to automated manufacturing with the help of state-of-the-art equipment.

We use robots to perfect the casting, glazing and relocation of products. This improves safety conditions for our workers, ensures consistent high quality of products and maximises our efficiency.

We are ready to respond to increasingly complex and global needs.

Our facility can produce 3 million pieces per year and we are constantly developing new technology to increase capacity.

Automatic glazing ensures consistent performance and even spray coverage.

Fully automated robot casting. The robotic casting allows for more efficient production by swiftly navigating the requirements of the factory and switching between product moulds.

With the help of smart AGV technology and 5G connectivity, our new intelligent positioning and stacking system enables precise and automated movement of materials and products.

Green factory

At Imex we are always looking to reduce our emissions, energy usage and carbon footprint, doing our bit to help preserve the environment.

We fulfil our commitment to creating a cleaner world by utilising green technology such as wastewater treatment, flue-dust collecting systems, solar panels and more.

Through our factory redevelopment, we expect the following eco and energy saving benefits:

• Energy consumption will be 291kgce/t, lower than the industry benchmark of 300kgce/t.

• Solar panels installed to save electricity.

• Carbon dioxide emissions reduced by 7,370 tonnes a year.

• $3.2 million invested to build two desulfurization systems to reduce sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.

• Our 2.1MW coal fired boilers were replaced with high efficiency gas fired boilers, reducing our coal use by 1,100 tonnes.

• New energy saving kilns not only help us to keep our green promises, but can also lower the cost of each kg of ceramics by 8% compared with traditional kilns.

Imex’s factory has passed certification in ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO18001, ensuring the highest standards of product manufacturing are maintained for optimal performance and ease of installation.

As part of our commitment to quality, Imex carries out an 8-step inspection process on 100% of our product, as seen below:

Physical & chemical testing against factory control standard.

Fully automated robotic casting for perfect results.

3.Firstinspection

Checking the product dimensions & physical appearance.

4.Glazing

Robot applied for even and complete coverage, flow rate, drying rate & density.

Efficient, energy saving kilns to help us keep our green promises.

6.Finalinspection

100% Quality control, checking for air leakage & flush function testing.

7.Packing

Smart 5G connected warehouse and AGV racking system.

8.Shipping

Safe and efficient container loading for worldwide delivery.

Full suite

Imex has a range of sanitaryware to suit all your needs. Whether it’s comfort height, short projection, wall hung, close coupled, rimless, or smart pans, we have it.

We also have ranges of baths (both freestanding and built in), furniture and taps allowing you to fully customise and turn your bathroom into your personal living space.

In addition, Imex have seat fixings and push buttons in chrome, matt black and brushed brass to match our brassware, wastes and bath shower screens, so we are a one-stop shop for all your needs.

Engineering

Where other manufacturers have been unable to, Imex have utilised high-pressure moulding to cast complex structures like our wall hung pans as a single piece, ensuring a seamless, robust product with minimal risk of air or water leakage.

Compliance

Our sanitaryware fittings are compliant with UK water regulations relating to fluid category 5 requirements.

Our fill valves feature non-return valves and an air gap greater than the requirement to eliminate any backflow of “blue water”.

Sanitaryware is CE certified, and our cistern fittings are either WRAS approved or in process of certification.

Our bestselling Ivan sanitaryware now comes with skirted close coupled pan options, which offer a slightly sleeker silhouette than our standard Ivan pans. See the collection on page 164.

What makes Imex furniture special?

Quality materials

Our advanced technology combined with E1 grade MDF base material and mono-block design structure means that Imex cabinet bodies are solid and durable.

Our furniture has waterproofing, anti-cracking, anti-corrosion and anti-deformation properties to withstand the rigours of everyday life.

Perfect finishes

Our furniture finishing process involves applying seven thin layers of protective paint, which yields a smoother, more even finish compared to a single thick coat. This approach allows for optimal coverage and minimizes the risk of runs.

Once the paint is precisely applied automatically by robots, the final finish is smooth, beautiful and easy to clean.

Strong fixings

We only use high quality, stainless steel components and fixings on our cabinets. They have to pass salt fog, anti-rust, durability and load tests.

Our unique fully opening drawers and internal adjustable bearing plate make arranging your bathroom storage space efficient and simple. Drawers also have soft close mechanisms. Eliminated slamming means no injury, lower noise, less wear-and-tear on furniture and protection of drawer contents from damage.

Ivan Furniture

New for 2024, our Ivan range of furniture introduces three new cabinets in wall mounted single drawer, floor mounted double door and three drawer floor mounted configurations, each with a 500 or 600mm wide option.

These cabinets are available in six new colour options; matt white, steel blue, matt black, pistachio, terracotta and plum, each offering a subtle splash of colour for your bathroom living space.

All Imex sanitaryware features our easy clean glaze, which adds a layer of glassy material to the conventional glazed surface, so dirt does not stick and just flushes away.

We also add silver ions to the finish which have anti-bacterial properties so the pan is more hygienic and stays fresher for longer.

The rough and uneven surface found on normal toilets makes it difficult to clean, and encourages bacteria growth.

Imex easy clean glaze, with it's added silver ions, inhibit bacterial reproduction.

They are perfect for all bathrooms. Regardless of bath style chosen, each bath is reinforced with extra rigidity, meaning the bath will not ‘flex’ when you step in.

The versatility of the materials used, the advanced manufacturing process and the quality of our craftsmanship means that Imex baths can be designed in beautiful sculptural shapes that suit the contemporary bathroom. The multicore layer design in Premiercast baths offer excellent heat retention, meaning your water stays hotter for longer for an energy saving, eco-conscious environment.

Imex Cast

All Imex Cast baths are constructed by both hand and automated processes, for efficiency and speed. The first process is to form the bath from high quality 5mm acrylic, we then add a full timber supporting frame to both the base of the bath and the underside of the rim.

This creates a strong base so we can then apply a Fibreglass sprayed layer, encapsulating the timber frame creating a durable and strong bath. Finally the bath is coated with a mix of resin and grey paint, which provides a smooth and strong final bonded surface.

Sprayed fibreglass and resin fully encapsulates the under rim timber frame.

Colour match reinforced acrylic panels.

Adjustable leg system.

Premiercast

All Imex Premiercast baths are constructed by hand, we first form the bath from high quality 5mm acrylic, then add a full timber supporting frame to both the base of the bath and the underside of the rim. This creates a strong base to then apply by hand, 7 layers of fibreglass core matting.

7 Layers of core matting fibreglass and resin, fully encapsulates the under rim timber frame.

Colour match reinforced acrylic panels.

Between each layer we apply a resin bonding adhesive which, when dry creates a super strong encapsulated bonded core. Finally the bath is coated with a mix of resin and blue paint, which provides a smooth and super-strength final bonded surface.
