Our Mission The aim of the Harford Day School is to provide disciplined, individualized education by stimulating and fostering the development of each child so that he or she will acquire sound habits of thought and expression and the best traits of personal character. It seeks to encourage respect for hard work and the disposition to do required tasks well by reason of honest effort. Besides thorough training in the essential skills, the program offers each student the opportunity to develop independence, imagination, curiosity, and responsibility.

MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT The end of each school year is cause for celebration as we recognize the accomplishments of the year and celebrate another class of Harford Day graduates. This year was no exception. Led by a hard working and talented group of forty-three 8th graders, our students excelled with distinction in all areas in and out of the classroom. Thank you for your support of our students and faculty at Harford Day. Because of the active involvement of donors who ensure that our facilities and resources match the excellence of our programs, our future continues to be bright. The renovation of the Early Childhood Building is a highlight of the past year’s fundraising efforts. The new classroom for the “Little Dragons” allows our Kindergarten to expand into 2 classrooms. In addition, gifts to the endowment, planned giving opportunities and most importantly unrestricted gifts make Harford Day a better place for today’s students and for the next generation of HDS students. A special thank you goes to Ashleigh Wilkes for her leadership as Interim Head of School for the 2018-2019 school year. She expertly guided us through a transitional year as we searched for Harford Day’s 8th Head of School. We are delighted to welcome Susan Bond Kearney as Head for the 2019-2020 school year.
