It’s been a busy and exciting year at Dignity Apparel! We’re seeing firsthand how powerful it is when people invest in one another and in American manufacturing.
In Tennessee, where many of our knitters are nearing retirement, skilled workers are passing down their craft to the next generation. Austin, a young dad, recently stepped into the Knitting Apprentice role after years as a Knitting Inspector, learning the same techniques that have kept our machines humming for decades. On our sewing floor, three generations of sewers work side by side, producing more than a million shirts each year. From “Mamaws” to young moms, our lines are filled with people committed to working hard, mastering their craft, and improving their lives and the lives of their families.
New team members are joining every month, eager to build something real and local. Thanks to your support, Dignity Apparel is gaining attention from across the country, including non-profits, the music industry, military contracts, colleges, and retail brands that are choosing USA-made, union-made quality. In an industry full of shortcuts and overseas outsourcing, people are calling for something real, transparent supply chains, local production, and good jobs for working families.
Our goal is simple, keep good jobs in the U.S., make garments you’re proud to wear, and keep this story going. Each garment we produce carries the work of skilled makers and the spirit of union pride. We’re not just making clothes, we’re bringing an industry back to life.
At Dignity Apparel, we serve a clear market: organizations that demand 100% USA-made garments. And we have a clear mission: to create dignified, life-changing jobs. These two goals drive everything we do, each making the other stronger.
Our vision is bold: to revive an American garment industry that’s been shrinking for decades. We want to give people the chance to buy garments made from American-grown fibers and fabrics, cut and sewn in our union factory by people proud of their craft. This effort keeps jobs local, builds strong communities, and protects the environment.

WHY USA-MADE GARMENTS?
• In 1960, roughly 95% of apparel worn by Americans was made by Americans. As of 2009, this number had dropped to 2%.
• US garment manufacturing has decreased by 80% in the past three decades. The global garment industry has filled the gap, and has proven rife with indentured labor, child labor, and environmental destruction.

SHARON is the steady hand behind the scenes at Dignity Apparel Tennessee.
As a utility worker, she trains new team members, jumps in to cover shifts, and helps lines catch up when production falls behind. Her calm, caring presence makes her a natural mentor, guiding others with patience and encouragement.
For Sharon, every day is a chance to make a difference. She loves seeing new hires gain confidence and succeed at their stations, knowing she helped them get there. Her mix of humor, hard work, and pride in craftsmanship keeps morale high and operations moving forward. She believes in earning her pay through dedication and staying ready for whatever the day brings.
LARRY used to shy away from challenges. He spent years feeling isolated, unsure of his place in the world. But when he joined Dignity Apparel’s logistics team, something changed. Surrounded by people who genuinely care, he discovered a new sense of confidence and purpose. The encouragement of his team, paired with the steady, meaningful work, helped him find his footing.
“If you have a pulse, you have a purpose.” Those words, spoken by his pastor, have taken on a whole new meaning for Larry. At Dignity Apparel, he has found more than just a job—he has found a place where he belongs, where his work matters, and where he is supported every step of the way.
