Workforce Development in Medina County

Workforce availability continues to be the number one issue for businesses in Medina County, but Medina County Economic Development Corporation is taking proactive steps to close the employment gap. MCDC works hard to bring new people into the county, keep the people we have, and get the businesses the workers they need.

Did you know that over 50% of the labor force in Medina County leaves the county for work each day? And according to the US Census Bureau, they have an average commute time of nearly 28 minutes. If you or someone you know is one of those people, please know we have great jobs right here in Medina County, ready and waiting!

MCEDC operates www.worklocal.net to help unemployed residents find jobs and help employers hire workers from outside the county. The website only lists current job openings in Medina County, and jobs are available at every level of employment in a variety of industries. MCEDC also works with partner organizations to ensure that every Medina County resident who wants a job can identify a position fitting their needs, skills, and situation.

We also partner with the OhioMeansJobs Medina County office, which can coordinate job searches for individuals and help businesses obtain training grants to upskill their employees. Call MCEDC at 330-722-9215 for a personal introduction!
