The Millennium Mills project focuses on residential retrofit, considering various contextual factors such as the impact of air pollution on health, the challenges of high-density living, and the inclusion of preschool and day-care facilities. The project aims to prioritize the well-being of families, particularly children, through careful design choices, material selection, and community engagement. The spaces are designed to take advantage of both the water feature on the north side and the natural light from the south side. A construction method involving the creation of an inner envelope within the existing structure is employed using hempcrete.
