Dear the BBC,
I hope this finds you well! I am writing to you to apply for the position of Creative Artworker/Designer, advertised on your careers page. I am a detail oriented, friendly and hard-working individual, with a background in design and illustration, as well as an education in Drama, Graphics and Fine Art. As such, I am keen to share with you why I would be a great asset to your team, through concepting and producing quality visual work.
•8 years of Design knowledge and technical skills: My background in Graphic Design and Illustration equips me with a strong foundation in design principles, typography, as well as a variety of hand-drawing techniques, and is suited well for both ideation and creation of visual assets. I have built on this working freelance producing artwork for exhibit, brand identities, and designing in-house posters, flyers, signs, and hand-painted chalkboards for John Lewis, where I confidently kept my outcomes visually consistent, to fit John Lewis’ guidelines.
•Ideas and collaboration: With a keen eye for colour and a passion for collaborative work, I am confident in my ability to support the team’s (and the BBC’s) vision and contribute boundless ideas to enhance the outcome. I will also assure these fit the BBC’s brand guidelines.
•Character and competency: At my Studio Assistant role at The Completist, I gained much experience dealing with sensitive information securely, data protection and private information of our clients. I am trustworthy and professional, treating what needs to be with complete discretion.
•Additional skills: Finally, in my current role, I have learnt to be efficient as well as a great timekeeper, professionally communicate with our clients, take stock counts and order supplies as needed, and package our products. As such, I feel I will be able to perform more administrative aspects of the role i.e. mock ups and client approvals, perfectly with my experience.
I am keen to work in a creative environment and assist others create fresh yet familiar visual outcomes for the BBC; as such I hope you will con sider myself as a good candidate for the role and I hope to hear from you soon.

‘Still I Rise‘, a purpose-made original font and sewn sculpture, inspired by Maya Angelou‘s voice, photographed and designed as a set of postcards.
‘What‘s Your Biggest Fear?‘, a VR experience and book encouraging the need to confront your fears and talk about them with those around you. All fears were collected anonymously.
