IBA PARTNERS ON LIVESTOCK TRAINING FOR EMERGENCY RESPONDERS
We are joining Illinois Pork and JBS to host three in-person Livestock Truck Rollover Trainings later this summer, designed to help local emergency responders. The goal of these workshops is to better prepare responders for handling livestockrelated incidents, and increase improved outcomes for truckers, livestock, and producers when an incident occurs.
This July, the Illinois Beef Association, along with Illinois Pork Producers Association and JBS are inviting livestock producers across the state, along with veterinarians, first responders, DOT, towing/recovery, and more to join us for a free interactive training to prepare responders and industry professionals to safely and effectively handle incidents involving rolled-over livestock trailers.

Morgan County Fairgrounds - 4-H Building Jacksonville, Illinois
The course includes classroom content on livestock behavior, responder safety, scene management, and handling priorities. In addition, there will be a hands-on walk-through using a livestock trailer and an interactive discussion with Q&A with trainers experienced in animal welfare and emergency response.
Upon completion of the course, each attendee will receive a training certificate. These sessions are free, but registration is required. Please help share the word with your local emergency responder organizations about these free, upcoming training opportunities.

Ribeye Corral - Call for Volunteers
The Illinois Beef Association needs help running the Ribeye Corral food stand during the 2025 Illinois State Fair, August 7-17. We are now accepting volunteers for lunch shift (11a-3p) and dinner shift (3p-7p) for all ten days of fair! GSI Grain Bin - Call for Beef Producers
Deep in the heart of the Illinois State Fairgrounds next to the Coliseum venue, IBA operates a consumer-engagement exhibit to share stories of beef production with fair attendees. We use this platform to showcase local producers, giving them a direct line to state fair attendees to promote not only beef, but their direct-to-consumer meat sales, if you’d like. Illinois Junior Beef Association Annual Meeting during State Fair
The Illinois Junior Beef Association will host its Annual Meeting Tuesday, August 5 at 5PM in the Livestock Center. The IJBA will give a recap of the prior year’s junior activities, elect new directors and officers, as well as serve pizza with fun and games! All beef juniors are welcome to attend the membership meeting.
IJBA Jackpot Show
The IJBA Jackpot Show will be hosted Sunday, August 10, at noon. Entries will be live on the ShoWorks platform July 1 through August 1 at $25 per entry. Late entries will be $45 after August 1 and will close at the conclusion of Junior Beef Check-in on August 5.
