Hello fellow cattle raisers, or should I say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
This past year was a whirlwind for the beef industry, and the Illinois Beef Association could not have weathered it without the support of faithful IBA members. The many hours contributed by our Board of Governors and staff, as well as those of countless members, prove we have a lively industry. We are grateful for the variety of contributions each of you have contributed this past year. Our goals at
IBA include service to our producer members and beef demand building. In the form of service, the IBA has provided vital lobbying efforts, kept members updated on programs and current issues and carried out various programs for both producer fellowship and education. On the Checkoff side of the organization, the message of beef has reached the young and old, from classrooms to newspapers, in the form of messages about the viability, versatility, sustainability, nutrition, and deliciousness of our product. I hope you had the chance to cross paths with the organization at a premiere event like Illinois Beef Expo, IBA Annual Meeting, Ribeye Corral at Illinois State Fair, Beef Quality Assurance Trainings or the special 10th Anniversary Illinois Beef Foundation Gala held in November.
Once again, I would sincerely like to thank our members for their support. We have an extensive list of new programs arriving for producers and junior members in the new year, I hope you will once again partner with us in our efforts by renewing your IBA membership. Also, let us know how we can better support you as a producer, or if you would like to help us spread positive messages of beef to consumers. Every Illinois producer is an important part of our mission. IBA Board of Governors and staff wish each of you a joyful holiday season with your family and a prosperous new year on the farm.
