The Moms and Dads Associations ABOUT

We encourage you to become a part of the Moms and Dads Associations, the oldest known collegiate parent associations on a university campus in the United States. Both organizations are open to mothers, mother figures, fathers, and father figures. There are no dues to join, and all are welcome!

The Associations host the Moms and Dads Weekends, two distinct opportunities for your family to visit campus and share in exciting weekend events designed for the whole family. Moms and Dads weekends are great opportunities to visit your student, but you’ll also find that you feel more connected and comfortable with your student’s collegiate life after participating in these family friendly weekends.

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS

MOMS ASSOCIATION

Join The University of Illinois Moms Association

The Moms Association was formed in 1923 and is believed to be the first Moms Association in the country. Its purpose is promoting the welfare and interest of the university and its students through services and open communication on campus and throughout the state. The association is philanthropic in nature, using its proceeds to support Illinois students. Through sales of the Association’s merchandise and tickets for Moms Weekend, the

Association raises money for scholarships and grants for Illinois students. The UI Moms Association is made up of committed volunteers that are mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and mom figures of U of I students at Urbana-Champaign. Board membership provides great opportunities for those who are passionate about the University and the mission of the Association. Find out more at: Illinimoms.com/get-involved.

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS

DADS ASSOCIATION

Join The University of Illinois Dads Association

Formed in 1922, the Dads Association is the oldest known parent association in the country. The Dads Association’s goals are to be an information source for parents and families about the University of Illinois, and to assist in providing scholarships and critical resources for students and student-related programs through fundraising.

Looking to stay informed and/or get involved while your student is at Illinois? Visit illinidads.com to learn about membership and to sign up for updates from the UI Dads Association. We are always looking for fathers to join our Board and serve on various committees.

CAMPUS Special Event Weekends

Make hotel reservations now for these weekend events! Be sure to check the Illini Union Hotel, conveniently located on campus. Because of the popularity of these events, most local hotels book up one year in advance. Be sure to ask if hotels have a waiting

list and request to be added to it. Occassionally, visitors find they cannot keep their reservations, and rooms do become available, especially in the month leading up to the events.

Homecoming 2023 is October 21. For more information about the exciting events taking place, visit homecoming.illinois.edu. The Illini football team will take on Wisconsin. Go Illini!

Dads Weekend 2023 is Nov. 10-12. The Dads Association will be organizing tickets to sporting events; a Pre-Game BBQ to the Illini football game against Indiana; an evening concert; a 5K race; a Sunday brunch, and more! Information will be available at illinidads.com.

Moms Weekend 2024 will be April 12-14. The Moms Association will be hosting events and will be participating in the ‘Annual Craft Show’. Information will be available at illinimoms.com.
