All about Axitinib tablets What Axitinib is and what it is used for: This drug is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Axitinib (Brand name Inlyta) reduces the blood supply to the tumour and resists the growth of cancer. It is indicated in order to treat advanced kidney cancer (advanced renal cell carcinoma) in adults, when other medicines (sunitinib or a cytokine) are no longer stopping disease from progressing. Administration: The recommended dose is axitinib 5 mg twice a day. Tablets should be taken approximately 12 hours apart either with or without food. Dexamethasone (a steroid). Medicine for: tuberculosis (TB), asthma, seizures, bacterial infections (antibiotics), fungal infections (antifungals), HIV (AIDS) or depression. Herbal medicines (such as St. John’s wort). Antacids, such as rabeprazole, which should be avoided 2 hours prior to and 2 hours after taking axitinib.

If you take more Axitinib than you should: If you accidentally consume excess tablets or a higher dose than you require, contact a doctor right away. If possible, show your doctor the pack, or leaflet. If you forget to take Axitinib: Consume your upcoming dose at your regular time. Do not consume a couple of doses to make up for the missed or forgotten tablets. If you vomit while taking Axitinib: If you vomit, any additional dose should be avoided. The upcoming prescribed dose should be taken at about the usual time. If you stop taking Axitinib: If you are not able to consume this medication as your healthcare provider recommended or you feel you do not need it anymore, discuss with your healthcare team right away. How should I store Axitinib? Store axitinib in the original package at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C). Avoid using any damaged pack.
