Women’s Captain’s Report
It's been a very interesting season and rapidly coming to a close. After retiring from employment due to COVID I thought I would take up the challenge of the role of Women’s Club Captain.

This began with our Opening Day in September. This was a wonderful success and it was so inspiring to see our bowlers receive their Championship Awards and then enjoy a social game of bowls for the Des Bennett Trophy.
This was followed by our famous and fabulous Melbourne Cup Day. This was a wonderful day and was very well attended with an over fill of Croquet ladies who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done to the Croquet ladies who are always there to help our lady bowlers setting up tables plus making and providing morning teas. Much appreciated.
The Sorrento Gala Day in early January is always our biggest and busiest day/week of the year. A huge effort goes into making this event a success. A full report on this event has been included in the Match Committee report.
In mid March we had Invitation Day. Again a successful and busy event. We were hampered by several teams withdrawing due to health, COVID or other related reasons. As a result, 28 teams took to the greens. Thank you to the members who donated cakes/slices etc for the morning tea and donated beautiful salads.
