ANNUAL, NAMED & ENDOWED FUNDS
For seven decades private sector philanthropy has been central to International House's ability to fulfill its mission. The program activities which create the unique character of life at the House, and the financial assistance which ensure diversity within our community, are made possible through the generous support of numerous corporations, foundations, alumni, friends, staff and Trustees. This year a target goal of $820,000 is sought in the 1995-96 Annual Fund campaign.
For their voluntary financial support throughout the past year, we are deeply appreciative of the following corporations, foundations and individuals who have provided substantial support for the House. Names in boldface indicate contributions and pledges of $5,000 or more.

Each year, Annual Fund contributions are combined with income generated by International House's Named and Endowed Funds to provide over 10 percent of the House's annual budget. Over the last 35 years a number of these special funds have been established to create an additional source of income for the programs and financial-aid offered at International House.
Funds established to provide financial assistance to residents may be used to award either monthly stipends for residents who hold positions, or direct grants to partially cover resident fees. The size and nature of direct grants are based on evaluation of individual need, and result from a review of financial assistance applications by the House's scholarship committee. This committee also makes recommendations that special "outreach" grants be awarded to attract potential residents from geographical, cultural, or academically under-represented areas.
Funds which support the House's program activities may be used to finance either ongoing activities or innovative new projects. These program enrichment funds may also be used to support the team of resident/program assistants, house managers and other position holders who assist in the operation of the House, and in organizing programs for residents and non-resident members.
For their role as a source of financial continuity which allows us to address changing needs while retaining diverse representation within the Intemational House community, we are pleased to recognize the following:
