Program

Academic Enrichment: Inspire The Dream will provide academic mentoring and homework help to youth in Grades K-12. This program will operate in affiliates ' partnering schools or at the IHDF site. School-based mentors serve as near-peer role models to the students and provide direct academic help. Care will be taken to ensure that the student receives support from the same mentor.

Community-Based: Inspire The Dream participants will be matched with a volunteer mentor from the community following the practices recommended by the National Mentoring Partnership in Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring. Inspire the Dream ' s community-based mentoring strategy follows with fidelity all of the practices of the evidence-based Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America (BBS) model. Community members will be recruited as mentors to serve as positive role models, expose youth to different activities, and foster trusting relationships with their mentors.
