Midsomer Norton Lantern Fayre

Page 1

Welcome! This year’s Christmas Nativity Fayre on the 6th of December has something for everyone! Santa’s sleigh will be led by a team of four reindeer, fresh from the North, as he prepares for his busiest time of year delivering presents around the world. The High Street will be a blaze of lights – switched on by myself and the Chair of Bath & North East Somerset Council. In the Hollies there will be free hot fruit punch, mince pies, a children’s Nativity, carols and a ‘Get in the picture’ photo booth in the stable set. Opposite the Hollies will be a wide range of Community Stalls Throughout the evening there will be fabulous street performers including: The Christmas Penguins - Lock up your fish! The Snow Queen and Snow Elf - a stunning Snow Queen accompanied by one of her elves from Lapland. Runaway Christmas Tree Fairy - an eight-foot

walking Christmas Tree complete with light, decorations and a real live fairy on top. Cheeky Elf! - No wonder Santa is grumbling about the weight of the sack on his backthere’s a rather large and lively Elf sitting on top of it! Special thanks are due to the organising team, led by the Chamber: Welton Baptist Church, Midsomer Norton Community Trust, Midsomer Norton & District Carnival Association, Somer Valley Rotary Club, Somer Valley FM. I look forward to seeing you all on the 6th December. Paul Myers Mayor of Midsomer Norton

O Little Town of Bethlehem O little town of Bethlehem How still we see thee lie Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight How silently, how silently The wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heaven No ear may hear His coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him still, The dear Christ enters in

O holy Child of Bethlehem Descend to us, we pray Cast out our sin and enter in Be born to us today We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell O come to us, abide with us Our Lord Emmanuel
