They provide different level of protection to the user and the research material. In Class I type of cabinets, you will get personnel and environmental protection but no product protection. These cabinets are used for low to moderate risk biological pathogens. Whereas the Class II and III of Biosafety cabinets ensure environmental, personnel as well as product protection.
