family install window treatments. During his days in the retail business, working for large department and home improvement stores, Jim — along with colleague Mike Ballerini, now Vice President of WindowPros — noticed a trend: the market for hard window coverings such as wood blinds and shutters was growing, while demand for soft window coverings, like draperies, was in decline.

Seeing a need for certain types of window treatments, and convinced they could produce and install a better quality product, they decided to start their own business.
