Dear IFMSA European Region, Some time has passed since our last newsletter was issued, and many many things have happened! We were represented in the European Youth Forum Council of Members, in Brussels; our amazing European Regional Meeting and respective preEuRegMe took place in Denmark; the region was represented in the 10th TTIP Round of Stakeholders with negotiators. In this newsletter, we will go through some of these achievements, at the same time that our European National Organizations will present some of their activities and projects. The region is currently getting ready and gearing up for the IFMSA General Assembly in Ohrid, Macedonia, in August and attention, there is an open call for the IFMSA Europe delegation for the WHO 65th Regional Committee in Vilnius, Lithuania! Practical surgical skills training in undergraduate medical education worldwide - Students’ experience
Medical education widely covers theoretical surgical knowledge, but practical skills are less represented. As future doctors, medical students need to be provided with both, regardless of their final specialty. Little doctor
On 24th of May Kazan State University (KSMU) Volunteers’ Movement “Our Choice” and Tatarstan Medical Students Association conducted an activity named “Little doctor”. Similar activities are being held all around the world in order to prevent the fear of doctors among little children. But in this case students of KSMU visited children in Ronald McDonald house. They are the ones who need special support and attention – all of them are seriously ill and
undergo palliative treatment in the Children Republic Clinical Hospital. As a part of the activity, volunteers taught children basic medical skills: measuring pulse and blood pressure, auscultation, percussion and applying bandages. Children were very assiduous and attentive.
During the activity children were getting special cards for the outstanding performance. In the end of the event they changed cards on sweet gifts. Volunteers also made them some animal figures from balloons. Students created an atmosphere of holiday for the little patients.

Pre-Exchange Training for the second time in Poland
As National Project Coordinator of Pre-exchange Training & Research Workshop I would like to tell you that we made this year 11 PETs in 11 Local Committees of IFMSA-Poland! More than 150 students took part in those workshops and those students were not only outgoings but also those who are simply interested in the topics of those meetings or keen on joining SCORE and IFMSA and it is one of the
opportunities they can get a hint of what SCORE and IFMSA is about. PET workshops happened in March/April this year for the second time in our country and we are more than proud about it! In agendas of all meetings were always trainings of soft skills (Motivation & Autopresentation) delivered by the members of IFMSA-Poland Trainings Division, memories of exoutgoings from their Research Exchanges, lectures about
lab work and writing articles and in the end presentation about Academic Quality and preparation for SCORE trip. We do our best to prepare our outgoing students for their SCORE adventure.
