STEP INTO WELLNESS CHALLENGE: Congratulations to team CHS and Roy Anderson Corp on receiving the Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors Silver award for The Charleston International Airport Parking Garage - Commercial Construction: $25-99 Million.

CHS RESERVE TAKES OFF Congratulations to our IT and Public Affairs Team for the launch of CHS Reserve. CHS Reserve is a data-informed virtual queuing service that empowers passengers to reserve a time to go through the TSA security queue using a dedicated lane entrance. The virtual queue helps distribute passenger demand throughout the day and provides a positive passenger experience for those who use it to avoid the longer General Screening queue. Passengers can reserve their time via their phone (or any wifi-enabled device) at chs.whyline.com. Once their appointment is confirmed, passengers arrive at the front of the queue to present their QR code and are welcomed into the lane by an Ambassador.

TAX WITHHOLDING CHANGES FOR 2022 The federal and South Carolina state income tax withholding tables changed for tax year 2022. Accordingly, if you receive a monthly retirement benefit, you may notice a change in your net January benefit amount. If you want to update or change the number of withholding allowances (exemptions) and/or marital status (if applicable) or flat dollar amount, log in to your PEBA Member Access account. Changes made via Member Access will be immediate.

LIFE INSURANCE Active employees can change life insurance beneficiaries at any time at mybenefits.sc.gov. The change is effective on the date the request is made. Retirees who have life insurance with MetLife may review or update beneficiary designations with MetLife. We encourage all employees to review their beneficiaries at this time.

RETIREMENT PLAN UPDATES Active members have the option to designate three types of beneficiaries for their retirement accounts. Active members may change their beneficiary designations through PEBA Member Access. If you participate in Deferred Comp, you must update your beneficiaries with Empower Retirement. Your beneficiary must submit a claim to receive your Deferred Comp account balance in the event of your death. The IRS recently announced an increase in the maximum deferral limit for 401(k) and 457 plans for 2022 from $19,500 to $20,500. You may contribute up to $20,500 in both plans, for a combined maximum of $41,000, or 100 percent of your includible compensation (as defined by Deferred Comp), whichever is less. If you are 55 or older you may also be eligible to contribute catch-up contributions. If you have questions, please contact Empower Retirement at 1-855-756-4738.

REIMBURSEMENTS FOR AT HOME COVID-19 TESTING Effective January 28, 2022, claims will be processed under the Plan’s pharmacy benefit through Express Scripts. BlueCross will no longer process claims for at-home tests. Here is how the process works going forward: · Members should call their local network pharmacy to see if they have an over-thecounter COVID-19 test available. · At the local network pharmacy, members should take the COVID-19 test to the pharmacy counter just like they would when filling a prescription. Members should not use the regular checkout lane. · Members should show the pharmacy their Express Scripts identification card. · The over-the-counter COVID-19 test should automatically ring up at no cost to the member, which means the members does not need to file a claim

UPCOMING TRAININGS February 24th | CPR Training Instructor Jennifer Ross will host at the Training Room in the PD Annex from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Contact Essence Wolfe for more information.

PPE SAVES LIVES COVER. FIT. CLEAN.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) saves lives. To minimize your risk of being seriously injured, take time to review the PPE Awareness Video. Personal Protective Equipment includes gloves, safety glasses and shoes, earplugs or muffs, hard hats, respirators, coveralls, vests, and full boy suits. We all have different roles at CCAA; our positions determine what PPE is required. With COVID in full effect, we all are required to have masks. All PPE should be well designed, fit properly, and kept clean. An improper PPE fit can differentiate between being safe and putting yourself or someone else in danger. Your department is required to provide PPE that is needed for your job. Remember to check your PPE regularly to ensure you have the proper equipment when it is required. DID YOU KNOW? · Our vision insurance provider, EyeMed, provides prescription safety glasses that can be purchased. If you have an FSA account, you can use it to pay for your glasses. · Noise levels over 85 decibels can cause permeant hearing loss for an extended period. All employees with prolonged periods of high noise levels should receive earplugs from your department. · Hard hats used in environments that have extreme temperatures, sunlight, or increased chemicals exposure should be replaced every two years.
