Beginning March 1, @IflyCHS social media will begin their #SimplyCHS campaign. We will be highlighting businesses, vendors, artists, and all things that remind us of life in the Lowcountry. With March as our spring launch we look forward to showing you what CHS has to offer already, and cannot wait to partner with local businesses in the future.

On February 17th Public Affairs hosted National Random Acts of Kindness Day at the Airport. We shared over 3,000 cookies, luggage tags and hand sanitizers with passengers and employees.

COVID-19 UPDATE The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented provisions of President Biden’s Executive Order on Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel by requiring travelers to wear face masks when they are in airports, as well as while on passenger aircraft, & public transportation.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AMBASSADOR Congratulations to Director Summey on receiving the Charleston County Economic Development’s Ambassador award. Director Summey was recognized for his service on Charleston County Council from 2008 TO 2020 and the role he played in overseeing a record-breaking number of economic development announcements to include 38 companies announcing new operations or expansion plans generating more that 2,200 new jobs and $260 million dollars in new capital investment. Beyond job creation, Director Summey was the foremost spokesman for highway improvements.

SPRING CLEANING Spring cleaning isn’t just for homeowners. For businesses and companies, it’s essential for your brand to think about spring cleaning, as well.

POLAR PLUNGE On Friday February 19th the Charleston County Aviation Authority PD participated in a polar plunge on the C Ramp in support of Special Olympics South Carolina. Due to Covid this years plunge was a bit different.

Officers were sprayed down by a Joint Base Charleston fire truck. The department raised nearly $2,000 for the cause. Great job!
