10 - MADAME GIRY'S REVELATION By Luis Fhelipe and Matheus Lopes
Madame Giry
Raoul
The Phantom of the Opera
Madame Giry, who was the person who had taken Raoul out of that terrible nightmare, took him to a region that the Viscount recognized as the rooms of the Opera House, - Madame Giry .... - Raoul began. - Please, sir, I know nothing but what you know! - This is not true! - the Viscount said, following her to her room - Please tell me what you know ... for our sake! She thought about what she would answer, or if she would answer, until she said: - Alright, Sir. This happened many years ago, and I was still a girl ... I was studying to be a dancer, one of many. We were in a circus and we saw a lot of impressive people there, the artists. Some could predict the future, others managed to be fully foldable and even spit fire. We were impressed. - What does that have to do with the Phantom of the Opera? - asked the Viscount. - Wait for me to tell the whole story. At the circus, there was a place that attracted all of us with the title "The Son of the Devil". We went in and saw a boy trapped by bars, with a cloth on his head and a toy in his hands. A tall, fat man arrived saying, "Look at the devil's son!" and removed the cloth from the boy's face. He was all deformed, ugly, some even screamed, but then they laughed and threw coins in the boy's face. Maybe I was the only sentimental one who couldn't laugh at the boy's face. - As soon as the other girls left, I stayed there. - she went on - Then the same man who was suspected of being his “owner” arrived to pick up the coins that were thrown by the girls, but he forgot the cage door open and a rope on the floor. The boy took the rope quickly and killed the hanged man, taking his toy. However, other men came screaming "killer". So, he started running and I followed him, but at a certain point, he didn't know where else to go, and I took him to the Opera House via a passage that led to his basement. His pursuers were unable to find him and I left him living there. The opera was his playground ... and he lived there ... now he has become a genius, a master, an architect, an artist, a designer, a magician, and much more! - But it seems that this genius has now gone mad, Madame Giry. - Raoul concluded - leaving the opera with Christine, taking her to sleep at his house.
