Awards on behalf f

The International Emmy® stands at the forefront of recognizing the creative excellence of television produced outside the United States. As global audiences embrace an evergrowing slate of innovative programming, the International Emmy® continues to highlight the importance and influence of great storytelling.
This year, the International Academy’s activities ranged from meetings and presentations in the US and abroad, from 36 Judging Events held in cities across the world, to a spectacular Academy Day in Rio de Janeiro under the auspices of Brazilian media giant, Grupo Globo.
Tonight’s Gala is the culmination of a year-long process in which television programs are entered, judged, and compete for an Emmy® in 16 different Categories. I think you will find as you screen clips of all the Nominated Programs, that standards are high and quality is something television organizations and producers continue to strive for around the world.
In addition to the Nominated Programs every year, we shine a spotlight on two individuals who have made a lasting impact on our business, through special Emmys®. This year’s Founders Emmy® will be presented to Dana Walden, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, whose leadership has shaped the creation and success of many iconic and award-winning television series.
Our Directorate Emmy® will be presented to João Roberto Marinho, President of Brazil’s Grupo Globo, who has dedicated his career to quality production, social responsibility, and independent journalism, often in opposition to government mandates.
Congratulations to the International Emmy® Awards Winners, and to all the Nominees recognized this year. We welcome you to the Gala.

Bruce L. Paisner President & CEO

Founder of the Hallmark Channel, and the visionary behind Great Point Studios, a media-focused company specializing in film and television infrastructure, Robert Halmi is the award-winning producer of more than 400 film and television projects. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of four public entertainment companies, the first at age 25. As President and CEO of Hallmark Entertainment, he transformed the business from a small production company into one of the first modern studios, with production, distribution, and broadcast all under one umbrella. Robert, along with his father Robert Halmi Sr., produced over 2,000 hours of original content, receiving 458 Emmy® nominations and 133 wins.
In 2019, Robert Halmi formed Great Point Studios, a studio management business specializing in film and television infrastructure. In January of 2022, Halmi’s vision to create major new production facilities became a reality with the opening of Lionsgate Studios Yonkers, which was the first of many purpose-built production studios that Great Point owns and operates. In addition to Yonkers, Great Point now has studios in Atlanta, GA; Buffalo, NY; Wales, UK as well as studios under construction in Newark, NJ.
One of Robert’s proudest achievements is the establishment of The Robert Halmi Sr. Academy of Film and Television, which opened its doors in September of 2024. The Robert Halmi Sr. Academy, a new high school level trade school, is part of the Yonkers Public School District and focuses on educational instruction in the film and television industry. It allows students to engage in hands-on, project-based learning to prepare for various career paths within the field. He serves on the Board of Directors at the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, as well as The Cold Water Conservation Fund.

As co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, Dana Walden oversees Disney’s entertainment streaming services, Disney+ and Hulu, and leads the company’s global television business, including ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Branded Television, FX, Hulu Originals, and National Geographic Networks, among others. Additionally, she oversees the marketing, operations, distribution and business groups across these brands, and has shared oversight of technology, ad sales, and international content and operations.
Over the past three decades, Walden has championed creative excellence — supporting the visionary storytellers behind some of the most celebrated series in television history, including 24, Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, Homeland and This Is Us; culture-defining franchises such as American Horror Story, black-ish, Family Guy and The Simpsons; unscripted icons like American Idol and Dancing with the Stars; top-rated children’s programming such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Bluey — the No. 1 most-watched streaming series in 2024 — and current breakout hits including Abbott Elementary, Alien: Earth, High Potential, Only Murders in the Building, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Bear, and Shōgun. Across her career, Walden’s creative teams have earned more than 450 Emmy® Awards.
Before joining Disney, she was CEO of Fox Television Group, where she led the Fox Broadcasting Company from fourth to first place in primetime entertainment rankings. Walden’s contributions have been recognized with some of the industry’s highest honors, including the 2025 Producers Guild of America’s Milestone Award.

The Globo Group, owned by the Marinho family, began its story in 1925 when Irineu Marinho founded the daily newspaper O Globo. The group’s expansion was headed by Roberto Marinho, his eldest son, who founded the TV network in 1965. Over the decades, Globo has evolved into a multiplatform media powerhouse, with a strong presence across television, streaming, cinema, radio, digital platforms, and out-of-home media (OOH). Throughout this transformation, the group has maintained its leadership and a firm focus on delivering high-quality content to diverse audiences.
João Roberto Marinho began his career in 1973 in the newsroom and held various strategic positions which shaped the company’s all-important guidelines and its steadfast commitment to independent journalism. He later coordinated the development of Grupo Globo’s Editorial Principles, a document that states that Grupo Globo will always remain independent, nonpartisan, and secular. It also outlines the pillars that guide its journalism—truth, impartiality, accuracy, agility, and respect for a plurality of opinions.
João Roberto’s appointment to the presidency reflects a leadership restructuring within Grupo Globo and was accompanied by other changes with the arrival of the fourth generation of the Marinho family in leadership roles. During his tenure, Grupo Globo was officially declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the City of Rio de Janeiro. This recognizes the Group’s national and international contributions over a century, noting its fundamental role in promoting and strengthening Brazilian culture, disseminating information and shaping public opinion, impacting generations of citizens.

He is widely recognized for his portrayal of Hiram Lodge on Riverdale, as well as memorable performances in A Walk Among the Tombstones and Nine Lives
Together, Ripa and Consuelos co-founded Milojo Productions, a New York–based production company dedicated to telling meaningful, high-quality stories across scripted, unscripted, and documentary formats. Their recent projects include the ESPN Original Series Running with the Wolves, chronicling their real-life experience as owners of the Italian soccer club Campobasso FC.
The couple first met as young actors on the set of All My Children and have been married since 1996. They share three children - Michael, Lola, and Joaquin - and live in New York City with their dog, Lena.
