iwanis Rialto seniors got a boost in their step after heading out to a recent Health and Wellness Expo. Held at the Rialto Senior Center, more than 260 locals and residents from neighboring communities learned about the many resources, programs and classes offered through the center earlier this month. “We’ve been here for 13 years and people just aren’t finding us, they’re just not coming down to this end of Rialto,” said Terre Ermitano. “But when they do come to (the Senior Center) they’re regulars.” And that was the aim, Ermitano added, “to bring awareness of services offered to seniors within the community.” As part of the event, attendees were able to participate in a tai chi class, which is one of the many activities special to the center, and picked up information about medical, legal and banking centers, along with

he city of Rialto Human Relations Commission held its annual Rialto Family Festival and Pollution Prevention Fair Sept. 19 at Rialto City Hall. Crowds turned out for a family-fun-filled day to play games, participate in activities and celebrate community. The festival, now in its 17th year, is held with an aim to recognize and celebrate the diversity of the Rialto community and promote healthy lifestyle through food, fitness and fun.
