n employment workshop will be held at A.K. Smiley Library’s Assembly Room April 7. The free interactive workshop, from noon to 4 p.m., targets professionals anywhere from recent graduates to mid-career changers as well as those who were laid off, downsized, or returning to a career after time away from the workforce. Whether a person has been searching for a job for 2 weeks or 2 years, this workshop will provide imaginative ideas that will turn the job search process from reactive to proactive and put the job seeker in the driver’s seat for landing his/her dream career. Attendees will learn how to not be their own worst enemy and find a job based on their passion and interests using innovative search strategies. Attendees will also learn effective resume writing and interview techniques. Presenter Bio: Jamie Beck is a former Career Counselor for the California State University system and has a Master’s Degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Social Systems and a concentration in Family and Work. She has worked for the California Department of Education and First 5 programs in the public and nonprofit sector. The A.K. Smiley Library Assembly Room is at 125 West Vine Street in Redlands.
