ast Thursday, Governor Gavin Newsom signed the 2019-2020 California state budget that makes historic investments in California’s future including funding for early childhood education, homelessness prevention, higher education access, largest investment in K14 education in California’s history, expansion of Cal-EITC Working Families Tax Credit and $19.2 billion in reserves, the largest of any state in the nation. “With the Governor’s signature California once again leads the way in fulfilling our promise to provide a beacon of hope for our children, working families, seniors and students.” Assemblymember Reyes continued, “This budget demonstrates our commitment to future gener-

pplications are now being accepted from business, non-profit and government organizations wanting to participate in the Fourth Annual CJUSD College and Career Fair, to be held from 5:307:30 PM Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Gonzales Community Center, 670 Colton Avenue in Colton. This popular event is a collaborative effort of the Colton Joint Unified School District and City of Colton with sponsorship from the law firm of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, Omnitrans, Inland Empire Economic Partnership, and Horace Mann Insurance (Marcos Mata Agency). Businesses, government organizations, and non-profits are invited to participate by sharing career pathway information with students. This is an informationalonly opportunity and no sales of any kind will be allowed. A table and chairs will be provided to all accepted participants at no cost. Fair, cont. on next pg.
