The ordinance, which will be added to Chapter 9.23 of Title 9 of the city’s Municipal Code, will prohibit the storage, provision, display for sale, distribution or sale of synthetic drugs, prohibit anything masked as synthetic drugs, and prohibit its possession.
According to the World Health Organization, Psychoactive substances are defined as substances that, when taken in or administered into one's system, affect mental processes (such as cognition).

“Without you coming here three months ago, we would have not known we were lacking a city ordinance,” Mayor Richard De La Rosa said. “We’re always willing and available to sit down with our community to speak about what is needed.”
Until now there was no existing ordinance in the Municipal Code that addressed concerns with psychoactive substances.

The 66-year-old Victorville man has an array of photos that depict his father, Albert Suchil, as a vibrant young military man and happy father. By speaking to siblings and family members, he has found out “further truths” about his role model.
Suchil, who grew up in South Colton in the 1950s and 1960s, has devoted his time to ensuring his father’s memory continues to stay intact. This month his father will be recognized by the Colton Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the renowned Mercuries Baseball team and by the city for his military service.
