Nate Powell (b. 1978, Little Rock, AR) is the first cartoonist ever to win the National Book Award. He began self-publishing at age 14 and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2000. Powell’s work includes Come Again, the March trilogy with civil rights icon John Lewis, Any Empire, Swallow Me Whole, You Don’t Say, and The Silence of Our Friends Friends..
