BARNETT SIMMONDS BIDIKAR

After traveling to London in search of his mysterious father Billy, troubled teen Fergie and his ghostly pal Sid have been hitting dead end after dead end, until they hook up with Squirrel and her off-the-grid community. But will she be able to help track down the dad that Fergie has never met? Sid doesn’t think so, but Fergie is fed up with drawing a blank. Speaking of dead ends, Dorothy Culpepper and Asif Baig of the Department for Extra-Usual Affairs have been chasing their tails up in Lancashire looking for Fergie while he’s been living it up in London Town, though they’re around to witness the moment one of the chickens from Dorothy’s past comes home to roost in rather bloody fashion. After revealing her part in the banishment of Billy — or Beleth, as he’s known in his unearthly domain — from the world back in 2002, Dorothy finds that her partner in that particular crime, exorcist Edgar von Dernbach, has despatched his unhinged son Bobby to track down the son of Beleth. Finding Fergie absent, the murderous Bobby has brutally attacked Fergie’s mum Julie, leaving her hovering between life and death. Dorothy and Asif arrive to stop him from finishing the job, and killing Fergie’s school pal and focus of his obsession, Natalie, but Julie’s in a bit of a state. In fact, she’s in limbo, where she meets a spirit guide in the shape of a certain other dead punk. She might be out for the count, but Julie’s certainly not down, and sensing that Fergie needs her help, she resolves to take matters into her own hands. But there’s no time to spare for Dorothy and Co., as they need to get to London to stop Dorothy’s vision of an apocalypse brought about by the pending reunion of Fergie and Billy coming true... but will they make it in time?
