BARNETT SIMMONDS BIDIKAR
Pursued by the police, the Department for Extra-Usual Affairs and a flock of eerie, shape-shifting magpies, troubled teen Fergie and his ghostly pal Sid have gone to London to seek out Fergie’s errant dad Billy, and perhaps some answers to why he’s suddenly manifesting unusual abilities. But London’s a big, strange city for a north country boy, and as the mysteries and bodies begin to pile up, Fergie despairs of ever finding his father. Meanwhile, Dorothy Culpepper and Asif Baig of DfEUA are just as desperate to find Fergie, especially as omens and portents hint at something apocalyptic should the family reunion ever occur. Things begin to unravel on all fronts as Fergie and Sid are taken to a seeming safe haven by the enigmatic Squirrel, Fergie’s mum Julie is left hovering between life and death after a vicious attack, and Dorothy’s links to the disappearance of Fergie’s dad are finally revealed. With the shocking news that Billy has been a lot closer than anyone thought, and Sid is not what he seems, everything comes to a head as Fergie and Billy are finally brought together... and Dorothy comes face to face with her old adversary once again. Can Armageddon be averted? The stage is set — quite literally, thanks to Fergie’s burgeoning powers — for the final showdown...
