Chased by t he Wat ch, t hey fled, and were cursed by Talandra’s dying bodyguard t o rescue her or be damned by Tempus t he Wargod. Desperat ely t hey searched for and found her, fleeing int o t he infamous cit y sewers, where t hey found a magical port al t hat t ook t hem to t he ruined, monst er-haunt ed Ghost Holds—a place full of marauding monst ers and out laws. And t he same enemies who snat ched Talandra in Wat erdeep have followed t hem here, t o t ry t o t ake her back. Meanwhile, Maurit —who had init ially conspired t o kidnap Lady Talandra—nurses his wounds… and finds himself on t he edges of a web of t reachery involving t he house of Roaringhorn and some of t he deadliest denizens of Wat erdeep…
