This week Larry Oberly is visiting some of the remaining barns in East Allen Township. Some of these barns are found on productive farms as part of the township's agricultural heritage. Northampton Borough Bath Council swears in Farmers’ Market, Junior council member New for 2022

Submitted by CAROL BEAR HECKMAN The cooler weather reminds me that farmers’ markets seasons will soon be coming to an end. The last day of the 14th year of the Bath Farmers’ Market is September 24. That day will be Customer Appreciation Day and the market will be giving away free grilled hot dogs as a ‘thank you’ to our patrons. We also want to thank Keystone Cement Company for being our 2021 sponsor. And it will be the final day for Sarah Fulton, our market manager for the last six years. Applications are now being accepted for the market manager position and we hope to have the vacancy filled before the end of the season. Contact Sarah at bathmarketmanager@gmail.com for a job description and more information. That’s not all that will be new for 2022. The market will be moving into the center of town at the clock park on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon. There is free off-street adjacent parking in a macadam public lot (for vendors and customers), plus adjacent on-street parking. And the site is highly visible. Called Monocacy Creek Park, the location is at the end of Race Street, a half block from the present site. All the traffic to the present Continued on page 7

The Third Ward resident was sworn in on Thursday, September 2, as the borough’s junior council member. “I am glad I can try to make [Northampton] a better place for people my age and older,” said Tillotson. She has been a borough resident her whole life and the closeknit community has played a pivotal role in who she is today, she told members of council.

Tillotson will be fully involved in council meetings. She can participate in discussions, ask questions, and give reports. However, she will not be able to vote. “I hope you develop a thick skin,” joked Councilman Anthony Lopsonzski, Sr. He added Continued on page 2
