Court of Honor held for Troop 79 Eagle Scouts

On Sunday, January 29 at noon, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony was held for two Troop 79 Eagle Scouts, Kailyb Leitch and Noah Kapustic, both of Northampton.
The ceremony was held at St. John the Baptist Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall (Stiles).
Kailyb Leitch, son of Ryan and Julie Leitch of Northampton, earned his Eagle Scout rank on August 18. Leitch’s
Eagle Scout project benefited the Queenship of Mary Church in Northampton. Leitch refurbished, refreshed and updated the train the church uses during their parish festival.
Noah Kapustic, son of Michael and Kimberly Kapustic of Northampton, earned his Eagle Scout on November 17.
Kapustic’s Eagle Scout project entailed updating and increasing the amount of shelving for the Whitehall Food Pantry, based out of St. John the Baptist Church in Stiles. Kapustic procured, painted and installed the shelving.
State Rep. Zach Mako attended the Court of Honor and issued House citations to both Scouts, congratulating them on their achievement.
Troop 79 recently held an open house on Monday, January 23 to provide information about Scouting. Troop 79 is open to ages 11-16.

Livable Landscapes Grant Program

The Moravian Historical Society is pleased to announce registration is now open for the 2023 Hands on History camp. Two week-long sessions are available for rising third graders to rising fifth graders to kick off their summer vacation immersed in history.

This year’s theme is “Science through History.” Campers will engage in STEAM-centered activities on our historic site at 214 E. Center St. in Nazareth.
Inspired by objects in our collection, activities will demonstrate how science and technology has changed the way we live our lives. Campers will have the opportunity to work hands-on with scholars and professionals with expertise in their fields.
Rising sixth graders and older can apply to be a Junior Counsel- or. Junior Counselors will assist camp counselors and presenters with group activities, set-up and clean-up, and engaging campers.
The two sessions of Hands on History will run Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Session one: June 12-June 16
• Session two: June 19-June 23
