T HE P R O P O S A L Online dating was the only way to try to squeeze love into Nicole Rivera and Andrew McGill’s busy schedules. Andrew “Super Liked” Nicole, and when they met at a bowling alley soon after, she discovered that she Super Liked him back. Nicole thought she had traveled to her parents’ house for her mother’s birthday, but when Andrew appeared on her doorstep to propose, it turned out the party was for their engagement.

T HE B IG D AY Their summer ceremony took place under a rustic gazebo with guitar accompaniment. They’d wanted simple décor and a tent reception, and the Riverview Country Club delivered its own version of their dream come true.

Inside a beautiful stone building, white and rosy coral flowers set off their reception. Floor-toceiling windows around 270 degrees of the structure hung open to keep them surrounded by natural air and light as friends and family celebrated their love.

T HE P R O P O S A L Tara McGuire and Ian Diehl met at a college Bible study and then hit it off at the annual Ugly Sweater Party. On a romantic picnic at Monocacy Creek, Ian sprung his proposal plan, which was almost foiled by his dog, Ellie, noticing family hiding behind a nearby tree.

T HE B IG D AY Their big day was sheer perfection, held in the peak of fall in the Poconos where fiery foliage illuminated the landscape. Drawing on nature’s theme, their wedding colors matched the trees in burgundy, orange and chocolate. Ian and Tara’s love of dogs and Notre Dame football showed in personal touches added to the event, and Tara herself choreographed a waltz to the song “From the Ground Up” by Dan + Shay, performed gracefully by the newlyweds. Following the reception, an after-party at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn gave them a chance to wind down and relax with out-of-town guests.

T HE P R O P O S A L As votes were tallied and everyone else began to lose heart at an Election Day party in 2016, Nathan Diehl was struck

by Paul Mongold’s unflagging hope. They built a beautiful relationship, and during Nathan’s birthday dinner, Paul was surprised with a gift. It was a photo book of their time together, with Chapter Two leading into their future with a question: “Will you marry me?”

T HE B IG D AY Their celebration at Vault 634 reflected the couple’s love of art and culture, with a globally influenced menu and tables named for their favorite Broadway theaters. In the Upper Mezzanine, their ceremony included songs from Disney and Ben Folds performed by friends both local and hot off the Broadway stage, and their first dance took a song from the latest Royal Wedding. Guests signed dozens of floating lanterns on a hanging guest book and danced the night away to ’80s and ’90s tunes.

T HE P R O P O S A L Match.com brought Stephanie Yachim and David Levits together for a first date at The Mint on a snowy February day. Despite calling to cancel, David changed his mind at the sound of her voice.

Five years later, on the day he achieved an MBA from DeSales, he turned a graduation speech into a proposal.

T HE B IG D AY With mirror signage, copper pillar centerpieces made by David and the help of amazing vendors, these two spent a year working out every detail of the experience offered to their wedding guests at Glasbern Inn. A memorial seat was set aside for Stephanie’s departed father, and a family tree display included the relatives watching from above. Their mission: to leave their family and friends talking about the epic experience of a quintessentially “Steph and Dave” event. Coming off a packed dance floor to a sparkler send-off, this intricately thought-out wedding day was one to remember.

When they’d reached the point of proposal, Isaac made his move during a trip to Dallas, Texas, in the privacy of their Airbnb.

T HE B IG D AY Stormy weather tried to slow down their big day, but they snagged their photos amid the grapevines and moved inside before rain hit. In the dreamy setting of Folino Estate Vineyard and Winery, their wedding day vision was brought to life

by DIY décor made possible by a generous family effort. The DJ kept them surrounded by loving family and friends on the dance floor for hours, and the sun returned for a beautiful sunset encore. A dramatic sparkler send-off ushered them into their life as a happily married couple.

T HE P R O P O S A L Colleagues at St. Luke’s University Health Network, Christine Heckman and Haley Kavelak soon became a loving couple.

At Joshua Tree National Park, seated in a convertible under the night sky, Christine revealed that she’d named a star for Haley in the International Star Registry, and wanted to marry her.

T HE B IG D AY Haley’s brother officiated in a space resplendent with bamboo pillars and succulents.

Scrumptious vegan cuisine included a naked wedding cake made by Christine’s 13-year-old cousin. Haley’s late father had a loving presence at the wedding, appearing in a locket in her bouquet, a “something blue” heart cut from one of his shirts and pinned to her dress and featured in a surprise from Haley’s brother, who set clips from home movies to the song “Butterfly Kisses” for a brothersister dance that had the whole room in tears. The party continued at Wind Creek Casino.

T HE P R O P O S A L Amanda DeHaven and Shane Austin met far from their native Eastern Pennsylvania, teaching high school science in Manassas, Virginia. She started to ply him for swimming tips and the friendship turned to more. After a basketball game at Amanda’s alma mater, Shane popped the question at the Syracuse Kissing Bench, where legend has it liplocking sweethearts are destined to be together forever.

T HE B IG D AY Their intimate “microwedding” consisted of 18 guests (plus their dog, Cece). An Airbnb hosted their guests from Friday all the way to Sunday for a long weekend party. It was punctuated by their wedding at Promise Ridge, a secluded ceremony space in the Poconos only nine minutes from where Amanda grew up. Alisa Tongg officiated a very personal and heartfelt event followed by cake and champagne. Their microparty took the festivities to dinner at Stroudsmoor Country Inn, then headed back to their Airbnb to continue the celebration.

Their crisp winter wedding was held in the Mural Ballroom at Hotel Bethlehem, transformed into a winter wonderland by their florist. Trees of all sizes and colors made a magical forest backdrop for dazzling pictures.

The Grand Ballroom filled with more than 200 guests for a reception resplendent with natural evergreen sprigs and gleaming gold. It was the perfect day for the dreamed-of Christmas wedding.

T HE P R O P O S A L Daniel Callen worked magic at a college party by making a quarter disappear behind Jennifer Mickley’s ear, and then going in for the smooth handshake that started their life together. One day, after the whole family gathered to see Dan and his twin brother, Matt, off on a road trip, Dan circled back, pretending he forgot something, and proposed to Jen on one knee.

T HE B IG D AY Their wedding was held on a beautiful spring day at Blue Mountain Resort, commencing with a cotton candy sunset. The wedding party donned funky outfits to walk in to Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop,” and with Dan getting his PhD in organic chemistry, the table names glittered as elements on the periodic table. “Second parents” to the couple, their maid of honor’s and best man’s parents dressed in a hue to be their “something blue,” and brother Matt and bridesmaid Alissa dueted “Lucky” by Jason Mraz for the couple’s first dance.

In addition, they are available for private events and workshops and host special events several times throughout the year, including shopping experiences to the New York Flower Market as well as local growers in the area.
