To Be or Not to Be… Certified ‰

Certification adds a third dimension to your portfolio; education and experience are the other two.

In baseball, we look for a player with the complete package—one who can throw, bat, catch, run, and be smart enough to make the many quick decisions that inevitably impact the outcome of a game.

Certification in our industry mimics this complete package. It lets people know that you have, in addition to experience and education, specialization in fluid power and that you have taken the time to document your expertise. It lets the world know you are a critical member of the “team.”

Fluid power has had many innovations since the 1980s. Probably the most significant is proportional controls. Fast forward 30 years and all of a sudden we are dealing with programmable Bert Martinez, CFPE, logic controllers, motion controllers, analog and CMfgE, Sun Hydraulics Corp. digital drivers, load cells, linear variable displacement transducers (LVDT), proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers—the list goes on and on. These innovative technologies require in-depth knowledge of electronics in addition to basic hydraulics.

Fluid power isn’t just for log splitting anymore. In addition to electronics, advances in proportional valve technology and servo valve technology have allowed fluid power to reach into applications that used to be reserved for the electromechanical industry. Again, applying these valves requires knowledge of frequency response technology and closed-loop controls.

Certification is a key way of keeping up with this technology and letting your industry know that you have the fundamental knowledge necessary to apply it.

When I first heard of fluid power certification in the early 90s, I was very interested. I saw it as a way to achieve a higher level of accomplishment. Monetary gain was not the main motive. For me, it was more about pride and bragging rights. Since then, I have had many discussions with colleagues about the benefits of being certified. It’s funny how almost everybody who isn’t certified doesn’t feel the need to certify, whereas those who are certified are always looking for new certifications to add to their portfolios and other ways of growing professionally.

Recently, a group of young engineers that I work with decided to take the certification test.

They were also joined by a few senior engineers motivated by the younger group. I met with them several times when they were preparing for the test. I reminded them that taking the test is not like running a race—it’s more like achieving a goal. So, if you don’t pass the first time, there’s no shame in going back and taking the test again and again. And again, until you

Alliance Sensors Announces Distributor Partnership pass. Afterward, while they all agreed that taking the test was no walk in the park, most of them passed the test. The one thing that impressed me the most was that one of the fellows who didn’t pass the test went ahead and re-took the test almost immediately. And he passed it. I don’t know who was more proud.

At the end of the day, it’s really up to us—on an individual level—to take the next step. If you haven’t gotten your certification, look into it.

Get started by preparing to take the test. Don’t assume that just because you’ve been in fluid power for years you’re going to breeze through the test. It takes hard work and substantial preparation. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the rewards of getting certified are real. You probably won’t become the next CEO of your company, but the CEO will surely look at you differently. So, too, will your customers and colleagues see you in a different professional light.

This will simply drive people away.

As the industry continues to move forward in areas like energy recovery, energy-efficient systems, alternative energy, smart components, etc., the certification process will become increasingly beneficial and integral to our professional growth. With all of these fast-paced developments, I ask: Can you really afford not to be certified?

Since pre-planning is recommended, there is blank space on the safety card that should have the name and phone number of the doctor or medical facility in your area that is experienced in treating injection injuries. In the event of an injury, you must IMMEDIATELY SEEK MEDICAL CARE, and having this critical information readily available should help medical professionals treat the injury.

Five Tools That Will Help You Survive—and Lead Your Tribe to Success—in the Concrete Jungle Create a reliable map to use while leading your tribe through the challenging landscape of the modern global economy

‰ Odds are, you’ve watched one of the many popular survival shows. You know the type: A host (or in some cases, a group of people) is dropped into the wilderness far from civilization with only the clothes on his back and perhaps a few other items. Then, it’s up to him to survive until he can reach safety. Along the way, viewers are amazed by the tools he fashions to make survival possible: a fire-starting bow drill made of sticks, a fishing line made of shoelaces and a thorn, a water container made from a cactus or gourd, a “frying pan” made from a rock, and shelters made from trees, leaves, and vines (or even snow!), just to name a few.

So, what on earth do business leaders have in common with these enterprising survival show hosts?

As a leader, it can often feel like you’ve been dropped in the middle of an inhospitable environment (better known as the global economy) with a similar lack of ready-made tools… and as an added challenge, you must get not only yourself, but your whole tribe, to safety.

Here, we share five essential map-making tools that will help you to navigate and survive in the corporate wilderness…and lead your tribe to safety and success.

When your tribe is trekking through the concrete jungle, everyone must share a dominant focus. A dominant focus is more than just what your company does or the outcomes it wants to achieve; it encapsulates what drives you, what your core purpose is, and what you’re passionate about. Without that focus, tribe members will jump from one thing to another, seldom (if ever) being truly productive. While their intentions may be as good as gold, a lack of understanding and/or unity in their efforts (as well as a lack of a common passion) will lead to scattered results at best.

Here’s an example of what infusing your tribe with focus and emotion looks like in action. A Z&C Leader will roll out several activities that keep the focus—let’s say being the best service provider in the area—alive and emotionally connected to each team member.

This leader might hold Monday morning meetings focused on lead indicators answering how the organization is going to attract business that week. On Wednesdays, the leader could provide one hour of education focused on growing the model. And on Fridays, he or she might do an “autopsy” of what worked and what didn’t—this forces people in the jungle to formulate a plan of attack regarding how to kill something and bring it back to the tribe. To make sure employees stayed emotionally connected, I would advise the leader to hold celebrations at certain sales milestones.

We live in a goal-obsessed society. So why, then, do we end up lowering so many of those goals… or not achieving them at all? The reason is simple: Randomly set goals rarely work because they don’t have emotional staying power. In other words, our follow-through is vulnerable to external variables, moods, or momentary circumstances.

Good goals have four components: They should be clear, specific, measurable, and linked to your organization’s dominant focus. Clear, specific, measurable goals work because we can break them down into quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily increments of progress.

More important, they are explicitly connected to a dominant focus—again, that’s your organi-

zation’s passionate purpose. This helps both managers and subordinates organize their efforts toward daily activities that concentrate on things like sales processes and customer service activities, which are systematically connected to organizations’ dreams. Because they’re loaded with an emotional pull, these good goals allow people to do more of the things they want to do and less of the things they feel forced to do.

The simple fact is that people play harder when there’s a scoreboard, when—eventually—a clear winner and a clear loser will emerge. You can build an organizational scoreboard using these guidelines: 1. Determine past performances. (What did each person do over the last 12-month cycle?)

2. Identify market variables. (How much growth is possible for each person to achieve in her/his specific marketplace?)

3. Estimate future capacity. (How much do you want each person to realistically stretch herself/himself over the next cycle?)

4. Determine high-value activities. (What things must each person do to achieve her/his future capacity? What is a wise use of time and what isn’t?)

5. Determine metrics. (How will each person measure, record, and report their progress?)

When you set up your scoreboard, be sure to clearly reassure tribe members that they are not competing against one another; instead, remind them that they’re competing against their own potentials. This will spawn positive peer pressure instead of cutthroat competition and will also make sure that low performers are no longer able to hide in the middle of the pack, taking valuable resources but not contributing to the tribe’s survival.

If the low performers your scoreboard helps you identify won’t or can’t improve, it’s a Z&C Leader’s responsibility to move them out of the organization. That’s the easy (if not always pleasant) part. What will take much more of your time, energy, and passion is coaching your remaining tribe members up—helping the mediocre become good and the good become great.

This isn’t only about providing continuing education and teaching technical skills—though those things certainly are components of coaching up. Leaders must compensate tribe members fairly, let them know it’s safe to be creative and innovative, treat them kindly, and assure them that their work is making a positive impact as well as building a legacy they can be proud of. When all of these areas are being satisfactorily addressed, you’ll have built a tribe in which everyone is passionate, motivated, and productive.

Newsflash: People aren’t robots. Yes, your tribe will be excited once they see how quickly and effectively you’re moving through the concrete jungle…but eventually, their enthusiasm will reach a lull. Even though they may be committed to your organization’s dominant focus, many of your people simply aren’t accustomed to producing at high levels for prolonged periods of time. That’s why Z&C Leaders keep their tribes fresh by throwing thunderbolts: unexpected jolts to the group that renew energy or pull everyone out of the doldrums.

Thunderbolts might take the form of an unexpected but dynamic guest speaker, a highintensity meeting, an unanticipated bonus or incentive from the leader, a company-wide rally, or any other surprise event that catches the tribe unaware. Based on our observations, weariness and complacency tend to creep in around the sixth or seventh month of every cycle. Just make sure you’re throwing thunderbolts to stir emotions and stoke energy—not to make yourself more popular.

Yes, the concrete jungle is an organic place where the winds of change, failure, success, and opportunity are always present and blow upon all of us. But if you have tools that allow you to harness the power of human capital, the odds will be stacked in your favor as you chart a course toward your dominant focus.

The past presidents and the companies they worked for were solicited for contributions to help fund this scholarship.

George Beniek and Travis DeBoer awarded the scholarship to Sathoff on May 8, 2013. Beniek, who is a former president of the chapter, is retired from Eaton Corp and was responsible for organizing the scholarship. DeBoer, the current chapter president, is employed by Eaton Corp.

worldwide an environment that is not unlike what is occurring in the United States right now, with weakness in new orders, particularly overseas, dragging other measures of manufacturing activity lower.

The U.S. trade deficit widened in May, as imports increased and exports declined. Weaknesses abroad have lessened the demand for U.S. products. So far in 2013, manufactured exports have been growing at an extremely disappointing rate of just 1%. This compares to 2012’s 5.5% growth, and it is well below the 15% increase needed to double exports by 2015. The challenging foreign sales climate is one of the main reasons that we have not seen any substantive momentum among manufacturers in the United States recently on new orders, output, and other activity measures. For instance, industrial production for manufacturing has risen only 1.7% over the past 12 months, the Institute for Supply Management’s PMI stood at just 50.9 in June, and manufacturers have shed workers in each of the past four months.

Behind these export figures, we see weaknesses in both Europe and Asia. Greece received another bailout earlier in the week, and Portugal’s political turmoil has heightened the risks that it will need more assistance in the near future. Both are yet another reminder that Europe’s problems are far from over. Indeed, the Markit Eurozone Manufacturing PMI has now contracted for 23 straight months. Even with some recent upticks in retail sales and confidence surveys, many key measures remain in negative territory. Meanwhile, the Chinese economy also appears to be decelerating, with real GDP expected to decline from 7.7% in the first quarter to 7.5% in the second when new data are released. The HSBC China Manufacturing PMI has contracted for two consecutive

Boosts Cost Efficiency and Extends Life Span of Wind Power Plants

A

lthough hydraulic controls for wind power plants represent a relatively small proportion of the procurement costs compared with other components of a wind power plant, they have a crucial influence on expensive parts of plants.

The rotor brakes, for instance, can be controlled very sensitively by hydraulic means, thereby protecting the gearbox, tower, and the foundation and rotor blade from being exposed to high levels of stress. This increases the life span of these expensive elements. Hydraulic components offer additional cost efficiency when they are intelligently interconnected, configured to facilitate service and maintenance, and are made of robust material.

Uncomplicated control systems that are perfectly tailored to the particular application can be implemented with HAWE Hydraulics’ products, which are based on a modular system. The philosophy of “one module per hydraulic function” is not only the basis for cost-effective controls, but offers considerable flexibility for the spatial arrangement of the components. Depending on requirements, the modules for the hydraulic functions are either mounted directly on a power pack or – if a decentralized configuration is more practical and there is sufficient space – they are distributed between several power packs.

Hydraulic functions that are featured in individual modules include rotor brake, azimuth brake, pitch adjustment, rotor blocking, nacelle roof opening, or the controls for permanently installed on-board handling cranes. The modular construction offers enormous time and cost savings if the control is subsequently modified

or if redundant functions are added. To do this, there is no need to modify or redesign the basic block on the power pack. All that is required is to adapt the functional module.

In the event of a fault, the module causing the problem can be easily identified. If it needs to be exchanged, this merely involves unscrewing four bolts and, if necessary, disconnecting the electrical connections. Time-consuming dismantling of hydraulic connections to the hydro consumers is not necessary. HAWE Hydraulics uses compact power packs for the pressurized fluid supply. These units live up to their name, requiring little space even with attachments mounted. The housing of the units doubles as the tank. This accommodates the oil-submerged motor and the feed pump in the form of a ruggedly built radial piston pump, which is constructed directly onto the motor shaft. This eliminates the need for a coupling, and the efficiency of the motor-pump combination is also improved. Furthermore, the larger cooling capacity of the hydraulic fluid compared with air cooling makes it possible to use a motor with considerably lower-rated power and smaller dimensions than a standard air-cooled motor. This also reduces energy losses when starting up. In addition, the oil-submerged design allows the housing dimensions, tank volumes, and oil requirement to be reduced to a minimum.

The compact power pack type KA is especially well suited for wind power plants. It provides a usable filling volume of two liters, which can be increased up to eleven liters with optional tank extensions. If the unit is used to supply several functions, the type KA4 is

recommended because it has a usable filling volume of up to 25 liters. The compact power pack allows oil to be supplied at a pressure of up to 700 bar. It is available with all customary voltages (including 690V) and network frequencies. Depending on the arrangement of the hydraulic components and the space available in the nacelle, the unit is installed either horizontally or vertically. In environments with large temperature variations and/or high air humidity, it is advisable to equip the power pack with a silica gel filter to protect the oil against condensation. This is particularly important in the case of “cold-climate� variants.

Directional-seated valves from HAWE Hydraulics are of particular interest for the brakes and the pitch drive. They offer a high level of security since they are leak-free and thus reliably maintain the operating pressure.

In accordance with the safety specifications of German Lloyd, the hydraulic unit in a wind energy plant must be able to maintain the operating pressure at a constant level for at least six hours and up to seven days if this pressure is used to operate an active brake. With its compact power packs and leak-free directional-seated valves, the hydraulics specialist can verifiably meet this requirement.

For wind power plant controls, HAWE Hydraulics uses zero-leak, seated valves similarly used for critical and safety-relevant clamping functions on machine tools. Without the use of seated valves, a larger pressure accumulator and pump unit would be necessary to properly maintain the operating pressure, due to leakage by spool valves and inadequate tightness of low-cost seat valves. The brake module with 3-way pressure control valve type CLK and integrated pressure-reducing functions is particularly well suited for the rotor brake, as well as small wind power plants up to 30 kW. This valve type is also included in the line of zeroleak seated valves and was developed for pressures up to 380 bar max. with pump pressures reaching 500 bar max. Volume flows of up to 22 l/min. are also possible.

HAWE Hydraulics manufactures all pressurized parts from steel, which gives these components both strength and resilience. Since they are also designed for higher pressures, uncommonly found in wind power plants, the hydraulic controls are extremely reliable and durable in service.

Support Education with the FPEF Who are we?

A 501(c)(3), the Fluid Power Educational Foundation (FPEF) implemented a program to develop and support a network of schools with a strong focus on fluid power through curriculum guidance, assistance in acquiring hardware, and scholarship offerings.

At the direction of a small but dedicated volunteer Board of Trustees, the FPEF continues to seek ways to assist students and professionals in becoming well-educated fluid power industry specifiers, manufacturers, educators, and customers. With the assistance of industry, associations, and individuals, the Foundation acts to improve the presence and application of fluid power in a technologically advanced world.

What do we do?

Poppet-type, commonly called Slip-In or DIN, valves have been used in hydraulic systems for many years. They are commonly known as two-port check valves. In this form, they serve as a one-way valve, allowing free flow in one direction while blocking flow in the reverse direction. With some refinements, these valves can be controlled to overcome the normal blocking action, thereby allowing control of flow in both directions. This is the basis of the

control concept known as “cartridge valves.”

This web seminar will discuss the sizing and applications of directional, pressure, and flow control slip-in cartridge valves. It will also discuss the manifolds required when applying these components in a modern industrial or mobile hydraulic system.

Hercules® offers a complete line of Tie-Rod and Welded cylinders, designed for a variety of equipment. Cylinders are constructed with an energized loaded u-seal with B lip design and metal canned wiper. Bore sizes start at 1-1/2 to 5 inches and strokes begin at 4-48 inches. Fredrick Norvelle passed away on January 16, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Norvelle joined the United States Air Force in 1958, and after retiring as a Major, he worked briefly in Ft. Worth, Tex. He later became the assistant director of the Fluid Power Research Center and worked as a professor of hydraulics in the Mechanical Power Technology Department at Oklahoma State University. During his teaching, Norvelle wrote two textbooks for his classes.

NFPA Fluid Power Innovation Awards – Applications Now Being Accepted The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA)'s fluid power technology award program recognizes innovative engineers and technicians who are using fluid power to address the needs of their customers.

aton is providing key wind power technologies to Guodian United Power Technology Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of China Guodian Corp.

Established in 2007, Guodian develops and manufactures large-scale wind turbines for inland, onshore, and offshore applications.

Eaton’s Hydraulics Group in Shanghai, China, is supplying hydraulic power units equipped with Vickers® and Integrated Hydraulics™ screw-in cartridge valves for yaw and shaft-braking functions on Guodian wind turbines produced in Hebei Province, China. Eaton is also supplying Aeroquip® MatchMate Plus® hose and Global TTC crimp fittings for braking system functions.

The business is generating approximately $1.5 million in revenues annually for Eaton.

Challenge Prior to 2007, Eaton provided technical consulting services to China Guodian

for Vickers valves on wind turbine systems that it imported for use on its wind farms.

China Guodian formed Guodian the following year to manufacture its own wind turbines and decided to open up the power unit business for bids. Eaton was involved in the bidding process.

Meanwhile, Eaton personnel helped modify the hydraulic circuit on the wind turbine technology already in place in order to facilitate easier field installation

and maintenance. The modification was made possible with Aeroquip® MatchMate Plus® hose and Global TTC crimp fittings for braking system functions. But in order to stand out from other power unit providers, Eaton China personnel had their work cut out for them.

hen a salesperson is quoting a vacuum installation, a common question to the end user is, "Would you prefer a vacuum pump or venturi?" More often than not, the end user will opt for a vacuum pump as he "doesn't have enough compressed air." This is a common statement, even if he does have enough compressed air, as that is one of the industry's energy focus points, but is it the right choice from the offset? This article offers basic comparative information to enable the salesperson or design engineer to make a more informed decision regarding the pump or venturi options available.

A vacuum pump is a rotary or reciprocating mechanical vacuumgenerating device. This is an important definition. A venturi manufacturer may refer to his product as a vacuum “pump.” This is inaccurate and very misleading. A vacuum venturi or ejector (the same device) is powered by compressed air. A vacuum PUMP is powered by an electric or indeed sometimes, but rarely, a hydraulic motor.

The vacuum-pump manufacturer will offer the most obvious advantage of his product over the venturi supplier – efficiency.

Fig. 1 shows a flow curve of a pump and venturi that have similar performance. However, the compressed air used for the venturi requires a compressor power of about 0.9 hp, whereas the pump uses a motor of about 0.25 hp. It’s a convincing argument for using a pump. Case closed, right? Well, jumping to conclusions normally costs someone something.

What is this pump or venturi being used for? When choosing a vacuum pump or venturi, the application is key to the final decision.

At least it should be, to get the best solution for the end user.

Here’s a typical vacuum-lifting application: a small end-of-arm tool consisting of eight small vacuum cups of Ø40 mm (Ø1.5"). These eight cups are picking up a flat plastic sheet, which is, of course, non porous. Cycle rate is one sheet pick every 15 seconds, or four sheets a minute. The piece is being held for only three seconds during transfer. What’s the most efficient? Pump or venturi?

The pump will run continuously with the vacuum being turned on and off via a vacuum solenoid valve. The venturi will run only when required (during the lift part of the cycle), turned on and off using a compressed air solenoid valve. The vacuum pump uses 0.25 hp all day long during a 24-hour shift. The venturi uses 0.9 hp for every three seconds of a 15-second cycle. Therefore, the venturi uses on average 0.18 hp of compressed air over the same cycle period. Consequently, the venturi is “more efficient” in overall running costs. Both of these circuits are illustrated in Fig. 2.

However, let’s review an alternative application. The end user requires vacuum to hold down a piece of plastic sheet while it’s being machined on a CNC router. The pump is the better choice. Why? The pump and the venturi are always operating to hold the plastic sheet in place. Therefore, the pump uses less energy and consequently is the better choice, at least for energy consumption.

Now you could use an “energy-saving” circuit with the venturi. What this offers for the user, as the term suggests, is a reduction in the amount of compressed air used. This is achieved by turning the venturi off when it has achieved vacuum and only turning it on again when the vacuum level falls below a preset safe vacuum degree.

This is ideal for use on a non-porous product, such as the plastic sheet application described previously, but probably not as useful when holding a porous product, such as cardboard or MDF sheet, in place.

Vacuum pumps are used in installations where compressed air is not available, and a venturi cannot be used because of that. It’s also easier for the machine builder to supply a “stand-alone” machine with an integral vacuum source. But the venturi has certain advantages over the vacuum pump: • Normally a lower initial cost of procurement • Lighter weight • Smaller dimensions • No heat generation • Virtually maintenance-free • Readily available from many suppliers That all said, we have spoken so far about a small pump vs. a small venturi. In larger installations, a pump normally makes more sense— as long as the installation is correct. In a large lifting application where larger vacuum flows are required to either accommodate product leakage (cardboard box handling) or to supply many vacuum cups, a pump is normally the better choice for efficiency reasons and certainly a simpler installation. However, in larger applications, the pumps are large. Some weigh many hundreds of pounds. Therefore, the machine builder, even knowing the efficiency benefit, will often opt for vacuum venturi purely because they are easier to install. This is particularly true in end-of-arm robot tooling where automated tool changers are being utilized. It’s a lot easier to utilize an automatic tool changer with 5/16" compressed air lines for venturi supply rather than 1" diameter vacuum hose from the pump.

Of course as with most vacuum installations, what worked before will be used again. That is very common and is particularly true with vacuum applications. It may have not been the most efficient solution for the end user, but it worked. Retrofitting old vacuum systems is big business simply because of that. Vacuum technology hasn’t changed much over the years, but having a better understanding of how vacuum works and working with the end user to understand his concerns and needs offers the best solution to the industry rather than what simply does the job!

Rethinking the

Venturi

Tube

T

he differential pressure gauge is one of the most overlooked and forgotten measurement instruments in the industry.

This is surprising because these devices have a tremendous variety of applications. They have the ability to monitor filter systems, display liquid levels, and even measure flow rates based on a difference in pressure. Measuring flow rates Fig. 1 with these gauges is particularly interesting because they link the difference in pressure of a piping system to a square root relation of the flow rate in the system. This is all possible because of the Bernoulli Principle we learned in our fluid mechanics classes.

Engineers in the flow industry seek to find measurement devices that reduce energy losses and are simple to install and maintain. Differential pressure flowmeters, like the one in Fig. 1, meet these expectations extremely well, yet they remain underused by designers. Their accuracy averages to +/-1% of full scale, they result in far less energy loss when compared to other standards (such as the turbine or vortex instruments), and often cost under $500. Why would these devices remain so underused? Simply put, there is a common misconception that a designer must use a contraction in the piping to create a differential pressure. This is simply not true, and I am here to tell you an equally simple method of creating the required pressure drop.

Contractions, such as the venturi tube shown in Fig. 2, can result in circular flow, turbulent vortices, and even present potential issues such as cavitation when used too closely to pumping systems. Fortunately, these issues can be greatly reduced if throttling is achieved in a less abrupt manner. If an effective design is achieved, laminar flow will be maintained and energy losses will be greatly reduced. Still, the industry maintains a distance from this type of flow measurement. To overcome this, designers of these systems must begin utilizing something more efficient than the contraction form of the venturi tube. They must begin to incorporate the expansion or â&#x20AC;&#x153;bulgeâ&#x20AC;? tube in their systems.

Creating an expansion in a piping system results in a pressure increase in the larger pipe thanks to Bernoulliâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Principle. This can be seen in Fig. 3 in which a piping system with the same inlet pipe diameter and flow rate as Fig. 2 is analyzed.

The color of the flow lines in this system transfer from red to blue, signaling the velocity of the fluid is transferring from high to low. This is directly in accordance with our fundamental fluid mechanics knowledge and allows an engineer to utilize a differential pressure flowmeter with the application of the Bernoulli Principle. This expansion setup has equal accuracy to the contraction form of the venturi, yet results in fewer losses and creates a more uniform laminar flow through the transition between pipe diameters. This design also alleviates any possibilities of other venturi-related issues such as clogging from solids or negative pressures on the outlet end of the expansion.

What is most interesting about this concept is the fact that it has been completely neglected from any engineering program on fluid mechanics. As a result, the standard for these systems continues to be the contraction form of the venturi tube. If the designers of these systems utilize this new concept, they will be presented with systems that are incredibly simple to install and even easier to maintain. This results in lowered costs and ultimately improves the efficiency on all accounts.
