Company history

1987 IDÉ AS is established in Drøbak by Morten Pedersen and Lasse Lauritzen.

1988 - 1993 A separate IDÉ office with a staff of eleven opens in Oslo.

1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. IDÉ is responsible for major deliveries to the business community and various parties involved in Olympic activities.

1995 - 2000 Staff of 16. IDÉ buys out competitors Organisasjonsprofil and M.Klebs & Co. 2001 Staff of 30 and large new head office. The IDÉ House becomes a reality, with its own warehouse and printing facilities. We open offices in Stavanger and Trondheim.

2002 We open a branch in Bergen and establish a subsidiary in Sweden.

2003 Awarded Gazelle Company of the Year in 2003 and 2004

by Dagens Næringliv and Dun & Bradstreet.

2004 Staff of 45. New branch opens in Lillehammer. The classiest showroom in Norway opens at IDÉ Stavanger.

On Tuesday, December 16th, we exceed €13.1 million in turnover.

2005 Staff of 48. IDÉ Stavanger and Trondheim now have a staff of three salespersons and one support person each. Morten Pedersen sells his shares of IDÉ to Lasse Lauritzen, giving Lasse 100% ownership of all shares in IDÉ. We also establish a new 900 m² showroom at the top of GlasMagasinet in the centre of Oslo.

2006 In the summer of 2006, IDÉ purchases 80% of shares in the Swedish company House of Brands and changes its name to IDÉ House of Brands. This leads to a solid footing in the Swedish market, with six new employees and an office with showroom in Stockholm. We continue strengthening our Scandinavian platform with a branch in Brøndby, located just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark. Idé Nova AS is also merged into IDÉ AS. We are about to make Norway an “IDÉ empire”, with seven branches across the country. This year, 2006, is once again our “best year yet”, with €22.4 million in turnover in Norway and €2.3 million in Sweden.

2007 Staff of 75. A new project leader is added to the Bergen and Trondheim teams. Stavanger now has a staff of seven. New branches open in Gothenburg and Malmø, Sweden. On the 17th of December at 5:17 PM, the IDÉ Group passes €26 million in turnover.

2008 Staff of 92. The Stockholm office is relocated to new premises and strengthens its position in the Swedish market. A new office is opened in Kolding, Denmark, and, in August, four highly capable co-workers join the team.

The head office premises in Drøbak are expanded to accommodate new offices. Lasse invites his daughter Nina to join him at the helm as Group Managing Director responsible for Norway, Sweden and Denmark. IDÉ House of Brands Norway exceeds 26 million euros in turnover and the group ends 2008 with turnover of a little over €31.5 million.

2009 IDÉ House of Brands is established in Finland on January 1st. New major contracts are signed throughout the region.

2010 The year 2010 is, once again, the best year ever for IDÉ House of Brands, with a total turnover of €39 million - Norway: 30.1 million, Sweden: 5 million, Finland: 2.3 million and Denmark: 1.6 million. We are pleased that our Nordic expansion has been such a success.

2011 We are proud to declare that the year 2011 ends as yet another “best ever” year. By December, we are about to top it all off with just over €36.8 million in turnover in Norway. In Sweden, we are close to €5.4 million in turnover and, in Finland and Denmark, €2.4 million each.

The IDÉ group will reach an incredible total turnover of €48 million in 2011, making it Europe’s largest privately owned profiling company. Congratulations to the IDÉ team are in order as we cross the threshold into 2012 and celebrate 25 years in the industry. We can’t wait!

2012 We expand the Oslo office to 1800m2 of showroom on two floors. We celebrate our 25th anniversary.

2013 IDÉ switches to a new webshop platform for 60 contract customers, and relocate the central warehouse to Langhus. We also launch a new website with integrated product database.

2014 We open new offices in Esbjerg, Denmark and Tampere, Finland. IDÉ Group introduces a new, advanced ERP system in every country.

2015 The year started well and we fought in the era of low oil prices and low economic conditions, so it is good that we kept budget substantially in all countries. May 18th, IDÉ House of Brands bought the profile part of Wulff Group Plc in Finland and increased with fourteen new colleagues and four new offices in Åland, Lahti, Kuopio and Oulu. This should provide further growth in Finland and the target total for the company is finally to pass 400 million NOK, almost 50 million Euro!

28 years of BEST EVER, nearly every year!

IDÉ House of Brands currently consists of 20 offices, and we achieved an incredible turnover of €50 million in the Nordic countries. Norway tops the list with over €41 million, while Sweden is approaching €4 million and Denmark €2,6 and Finland €2,5 million.

What will the future bring?

The year 2015 has been turbulent because of declining oil prices and low economy, but we successfully made it through the year. We are happy and proud to say that we are optimistic and look towards the future with confidence.

IDÉ House of Brands is planning a further expansion and we are always looking for new strategic areas to develop, both in Norway and other northern countries. We are not in a hurry, but when the opportunity arises, we will respond just as quickly as we do with urgent deliveries.

The 18th of May, we expanded in Finland with fourteen new employees and four new departments.

Our partners are helping us for better than ever, and like IDÉ, are still undergoing development. We are always

Like many others, we are committed to environmental stewardship and want to do our part to help the environment. This is also confirmed by our environmental certification (ISO 14001) and all that this entails. The ISO requirements contribute to making clear in which areas we can contribute locally to improve the environment globally. When purchasing products, we encourage our producers to reduce their carbon footprint through environmentally friendly operations, like reduced packaging, more effective distribution and logistics throughout the service chain. This gives our customers the assurance that we make every effort to live up to our customers’ environmental demands.

We always strive to offer an environmental friendly alternative to our standard range of products. For example, customers have the possibility to choose pens made of biodegradable material, T-shirts made from organic cotton and products made from recycled materials.

We are represented in all Nordic countries, putting us in close proximity to most of our customers. Our main office is in Drøbak, where the design department, print studio and warehouse are located, in addition to the sales department. We also have showrooms at all other branches.

Other times it may be more appropriate to consult someone regarding logo quality, size and placement, delivery times, size distribution and other relevant aspects. Forms of communication and distribution are determined on an individual basis. We draw on our experience when facing both familiar and new challenges as regards ordering, stockholding and distribution.

Together with the client, all requirements are mapped out to ensure a tailor-made solution for every individual client. The webshop can target the corporate market, private persons and/or member organisations. Our online shops are designed with a profile tailored to the client’s needs.

IDÉ House of Brands currently runs around 75 tailormade webshops for its clients. IDÉ manages all orders, invoices, flow of goods and inventory.

In IDÉ’s webshops, the goods offered are easy to view, read about, and order. Regular orders for goods in stock placed in webshops are dispatched from stock within 24 hours. Depending on the volume and destination, most orders are received within 3 to 4 business days.

If goods are held in stock for the client, statistics and turnover reports on inventory are also drawn up. Clients are provided with a complete overview of the numbers of orders and products, inventory value, etc. of their stock at all times. Statistics and analyses conducted together with IDÉ are essential for ensuring that the right goods are kept in stock at the right time, particularly if the goods are seasonal in nature.

Environment, ethics and social responsibility Since 1987 we have been at the forefront of and a dominant player in our industry. This is also reflected in the measures we take to ensure our commitment and focus to the environment, quality, fair trade and increased wealth creation in society.

ISO certification Shortly after the millennium, it became clear that new developments were taking place in our industry. The requirements for documentation and guaranteed deliveries were tightened and IDÉ wanted to stay ahead of our competitors in both this area and sales. In 2004 we became the first company in the profile industry to obtain ISO14001 and ISO9001 certification for its environment and quality policies. For our customers, this means even greater security in terms of deliveries from IDÉ, as well as access to a wide range of environmentally friendly alternatives. Of course, this also means we are able to comply with all customer requirements in these areas. IDÉ has been recertified every year since 2004, a fact of which we are very proud.

Other environmental efforts In addition to ISO certification, IDÉ is also active in environmental issues and a members of both Green Dot Norway and El: Return.

ETI Ethical trade is a term that is appearing with increasing frequency in both public debates and elsewhere in corporate Norway. IDÉ has once again taken the lead in our industry and has already become a member of the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative). Through our membership and involvement in the ETI, we actively work towards improving conditions and practices in our factories, internally, and ensuring that our customers can choose “correct” products and manufacturers.

iwear iwear offer technical products for activities such as skiing, running, cycling and active leisure pursuits.

The products are designed, produced and sold to the corporate market direct, cutting out the middleman, to provide you with high quality at a competitive price.

Innovation and quality must be prioritised, and „value for money“ is given top priority. Investment in design gives the product a competitive edge in the form of more functionality, cost savings and product differentiation.

Our range for the coming season consists of approx. 45 models, plus colour variants. Out aim is for some of the products to remain unchanged over several years with regard to supplementation. Proud representatives for team iwear are former cross-country skier Oddbjørn Hjelmset and top skier Oddvar Brå. They train in iwear

summer and winter and use our leisure range for relaxation. IDÉ and the Norwegian Skating Federation signed an exclusive sponsorship deal in 2013.

Headed by the Bøkko siblings, the elite, junior, recruiting and talent teams plus their support staff will all wear iwear for training, competition and leisure.

Delta Customer: Delta Delta is a labour union that safeguards workers’ rights concerning wages, working hours and working conditions. Delta also works to develop workplaces that focus on members’ quality of life.

Delta is one of IDÉ’s biggest clients. We host three different webshops for them, two for internal use (for recruitment and conferences) and one for their members. We supply Delta with everything they need, from brochures and office supplies to bags, clothes and giveaways.

All products we make for Delta feature their own colours, which makes the line of products easy to combine and creates effective profiling towards members.

BI Norwegian Business School Customer: BI Norwegian Business School BI Norwegian Business School is an internationally recognized non-for-profit private institution, located in Norway. Established in 1943, BI has one of Europe’s largest and most productive academic environments.

BI is a private, independent, specialized university institution with a total of four study locations in Norway: Oslo (main campus with all international programmes), Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger.

IDÉ House of Brands started working with BI in 2012, and in 2013 we opened a web shop where the staff can buy profile products, gifts, clothes and give aways.

We make a lot of products for BI in their own colours, through the years we have made a width product line which covers what the staff needs.

BDO Customer: BDO As a rapidly developing enterprise, they have carved out a name for themselves as one of the leading professional services companies in the country. They supply a broad range of services within their business areas: audit, tax, customs and excise duties, consulting and corporate services. The full spectrum of their services benefits their customers through a holistic delivery and a clear focus on the specific, individual needs.

BDO also emphasize on profiling themselves as a sporty company, and supports a number of sporting events around the country. One of these, the BDO-MILA, is a series of cross country running events arranged each year in cooperation with the National Cross Country Skiing Team, and local sports clubs. BDO-MILA is marketed as a social and sporty afternoon where

everyone can participate, also they who don’t exercise regularly. They receive good press coverage through this event, due to the high number of professional athletes that participate.

Their webshop at IDÉ follows the profile of a sporty company, through their large sports collection that consist of IDÉ’s own iWear products, as well as other various articles one associate with sports.
