I AM HOPE
Laughs, chats, and a whole lot of heart! Last June, The Ideal Foundation hosted a live donation for the I AM HOPE foundation, with Mike King joining us. Many of our Ideal Foundation partners joined, with our branch staff following the event through livestream from the Support Office.
I Am Hope aims to promote positive attitudinal societal change around mental health throughout New Zealand, offering hope and a voice to young people. Thanks to you and our key suppliers, we were able to contribute $25,000 more this year, totaling in $150,000 donated since 2020. Every purchase of Ideal Foundation products enables us to continue this support.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ABILITIES GROUP!
Driven by a desire for sustainability, Abilities Group provides employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities; providing them with fulfilling work, community and core sense of belonging. Founded in the late 1950s the group initially focused on handcrafted items such as pottery and woodwork. Today, they are a leader in the waste management industry in New Zealand, offering comprehensive recycling operation tackling electronic waste, polystyrene, cardboard, batteries, faulty products and much more.
When the Ideal Foundation heard of the news that The Abilities Group recycling plant in Wairau Valley Auckland was destroyed in a fire, a donation of $10,000 was made to help the recycling charity get back on its feet. Following the fire, the Abilities Group has been working tirelessly to rebuild and resume its activities in order to reinstate employment for its team members with disabilities. The Ideal Foundation’s donation will help the charity’s current endeavours.

RIDING FOR THE DISABLED
New Zealand Riding for the Disabled’s core purpose is to provide interaction with horses to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people experiencing disability, or who have specific challenges or needs. The charity aims to enable and support them to achieve good lives including meaningful participation in, and contribution to, important life activities and roles in their community. Ideal Foundation donated $2,760 towards their workshops for Coaches and volunteers. The Volunteer Workshops provide in-person training at an RDA group so that Coaches and volunteers have the training they need to provide safe and effective RDA in their communities
The RDA participants say the activity is the main way of accessing physical exercise that improves core strength, balance and coordination. The riders learn communication skills that in turn enhance confidence levels, and relationship building, that can help to combat loneliness.

The New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF) is a disciplined, uniformed organisation which provides military-based leadership, personal development and operational training to persons aged between 13 and 18 years old. The cadets learn how to be part of a team, develop leadership and survival skills, experience challenges and learn to take responsibility. No 21 Squadron Air Training Corps Headquarters in Masterton reached to the Ideal Foundation seeking help with upgrading their outdated lighting at their facilities with energy efficient ones. Ideal Foundation donated $4,000.

COMMUNITY HOUSE MID CANTERBURY
Community House Mid Canterbury is the hub for social services in the Ashburton community and offers a range of community services, facilities and activities. Its primary objective is to provide affordable office space and services to the not-for-profit sector. CHMC reached to the Ideal Foundation to help them with a solar installation to help with the rising cost of electricity. Ideal Foundation donated $7,000 towards inverters and mounting hardware.
NEXANS DONATES AN ADDITIONAL $500 TO THE IDEAL FOUNDATION!
On top of being an active supplier in Ideal Electrical promotions and publications, Nexans is also an Ideal Foundation Advocate. For our last Livewire publication, Nexans carried out a MOBIWAY BOOST promotion and committed to donate $5 to the Ideal Foundation for each qualifying drum return during the promotion period, cumulating to $500!
IDEALS STAFF VOICE
As part of its commitment, the Ideal Foundation is always seeking innovative ideas from within our team. Every year the Ideal Foundation gives the Ideal Electrical staff the opportunity to suggest organisations they’d like to see us contribute towards. This year, $2,500 was donated to each of the selected organisations based on staff recommendations.

The Cancer Society of New Zealand is the country’s leading organisation dedicated to reducing the incidence of cancer and ensuring the best cancer care for New Zealanders.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
Assistance Dogs New Zealand Trust provides purpose-bred and trained assistance dogs to enrich the lives of kiwi families living with a disability across the country.
CROHNS AND COLITIS NZ
Crohn’s and Colitis New Zealand is a charitable trust which aims to provide support, advice, resources and information about Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
KIDS CAN
KidsCan is a charity dedicated to helping Kiwi kids affected by poverty. We help tamariki experiencing hardship by providing food, jackets, shoes and health products to schools and early childhood centres across New Zealand.
SPCA
SPCA (The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Incorporated) is New Zealand’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity, with 28 animal centres and 6 vet partnerships across the country.
TAURANGA COASTGUARD
The Tauranga Coastguard are a team of dedicated volunteers who are on call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, to go to the assistance of someone at risk on the water.
ST JOHNS
Hato Hone St John, also often referred to as St John Ambulance of New Zealand, is a charitable organisation providing healthcare services to the New Zealand public. The organisation provides pre-hospital ambulance care throughout New Zealand apart from the Greater Wellington Region and Wairarapa, as well as certain other health services.
WELL WOMEN
Well Women is a Peer Support Group that supports women and their families in South Auckland who are experiencing Antenatal or Postnatal Distress and Anxiety.
KIDNEY SOCIETY
For over 40 years, The Kidney Society have connected people to the vital information, education and support services they need to preserve their kidney health and live a better quality of life diagnosed with kidney disease. The charity works with a range of stakeholders and community groups to drive innovations and improvements in the management of kidney disease, so that one day every New Zealander can enjoy good kidney health.
TAIMA KORERO CHARITABLE TRUST
Tāima Kōrero equips parents and educators with the tools to effectively talk about pornography with young people to help mitigate the harmful effects of pornography on young people in Aotearoa.
