A portrait of purpose and grace, Dr. Jane Goodall embodied a life devoted to understanding and protecting the natural world. In this special tribute, we honor the legendary humanitarian whose groundbreaking research reshaped how we see chimpanzees and ourselves. Decades into her journey, and even after her passing, Goodall continues to inspire global action through compassion, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to the planet. Her story is a reminder that living well means living with intention, stewardship, and hope for generations to come. Photo by Gloria Rodríguez / Getty Images Instagram: @gloriarodriguez_fotografia

Editor’s Note

A NEW YEAR. A NEW YOU. Reach for the Stars

T

he chance to grow, evolve, and reach new heights is always available to us. Still, the new year has a way of sharpening that hope. It becomes a marker—a moment when we pause, reflect, and imagine something better, or at least something new. Life can be repetitive, and the seasons we move through are rarely equal in ease or joy. What we often long for at the edge of a new year is the arrival of a dream that has lingered just out of reach: a child, a partner, a new career, a healed relationship, a fresh venture, or finally taking the trip we’ve been promising ourselves. I’ve been reaching for the stars for as long as I can remember, even before I understood why. That desire—to become a better version of myself—has never faded. Personal growth matters because it shapes how we show up in the world. When we invest in ourselves, we’re better equipped to leave a meaningful mark within our own circles and beyond them. As I write this, I’m recovering from a twelvehour breast cancer surgery in New Orleans. I was surrounded by an exceptional medical team whose skill, care, and attention made me feel completely safe. Healing takes effort, intention, and trust— much like any worthwhile pursuit. I’m deeply grateful for the people and place that guided me through this experience and for how quickly everything came together when I needed it most. My prognosis is excellent, and my optimism is strengthened daily by the prayers, encouragement, and love of friends and family, my faith, outstanding medical care, and especially my husband, who has been my constant champion—serving not just as my cheerleader, but also my coach, caregiver, and steady support throughout this journey.

My hope for all of you in the coming year is simple and sincere: good health. As my grandmother used to say, “Health is wealth.” She was right. Happy New Year. May it be your best one yet. To life and health,

—Lisa Marie Burwell CEO/Editor-in-Chief/Creative Director V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 17

excited to continue expanding my education, incorporating new technologies, and offering treatments that deliver even more personalized, naturallooking results. What excites me most, though, is deepening the relationships I have with my clients. @happylittlemother

I’m not a New Year’s resolution girl. But I am a big era girl—and this year taught me I can’t keep reliving the same cycle. Like, you see an angel number and feel guided, right? Beautiful. But that guidance can’t land if you’re still standing in the same place you were before. You can’t pray for alignment while living inside the pattern you’re trying to outgrow. So 2025—and honestly every year before it—taught me this: If I want intentional growth, I have to meet my path with purpose.

Dr.

stared out the window of the plane as we touched down on what felt like the darkest night I had experienced in a very long time. As Jenifer and I climbed out of the small craft onto the flight line, a gentle, brisk breeze swirled around us. Our excitement grew as we walked into one of the most beautiful airports either of us had ever seen. We had arrived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where we would be attending the Jackson Wild Summit and Media Awards. The previous five years of our lives had been spent working on the movie The Paper Bear. This was the culmination of all those years. The film had been selected as a finalist in the Trailblazer category at the Jackson Wild Media Awards. Created over thirty years ago, Jackson Wild has been at the forefront of the nature film world. The award ceremony occurs yearly, but the summit is held biennially. Filmmakers, content creators, scientists, and conservationists come from all over the world to attend these summits. The Media Awards are considered by many to be the Oscars of the nature film world. You may not be familiar with Jackson Wild, but it has likely influenced many of the nature-focused films you’ve watched over the past thirty years. V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 25

he 2025 Summit started Monday, September 29, and ran through Thursday, October 2, with the awards ceremony taking place on the final evening. Jenifer and I had met up with Sean and Brittney Couch, two other key members of The Paper Bear production team. The first two days were spent in relative disbelief as we met the heads of several of the largest nature and conservation organizations in the world, as well as some of the most iconic filmmakers in the genre. Tuesday evening, we ended the day on the deck of the Jackson Lake Lodge overlooking the Grand Tetons. Wednesday morning, as Jenifer and I attended one of the keynote presentations, an audible gasp filled the room. We quickly learned the source of the commotion: Dr. Jane Goodall had just passed away. I knew this was a very big deal for Jenifer as tears filled her eyes. For the twenty years she and I have been together, Jane has been a steady force in her life. As she said, “Jane Goodall lived a deeply authentic life. I was introduced to her work through National Geographic as a child growing up in Alaska. I was in awe of her closeness to the chimpanzees and her ease around them. She made a lasting impression on my relationship with nature for fifty years.” In 2024, Jenifer told me she was traveling to Atlanta to hear Jane speak during her An Evening with Dr. Jane Goodall tour. When she returned home, I could tell 26 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

it had been a meaningful experience. “I grew quiet in her presence,” she told me. “I was asking myself, ‘What did she know that I did not? What was she going to tell me that would lead me into the next fifty years of my life? How could my life reflect such authenticity and significance as Jane’s had?’” These were powerful words coming from Jenifer, considering she’s one of the strongest, most authentic women I have ever met. I asked her what Jane had shared in the presentation. After a long pause, she said, “Jane asked what each person in the audience would do to make a difference in their own world. ‘What is your impact on the planet—on people, animals, the environment? Remember, hope is a human survival trait… never give up hope.’ I left thinking, ‘Thank you, Jane, for inspiring me over and over again, for as long as I can remember.’” Jane’s impact has been felt not only by the women in my life, but also by their daughters. When I asked Brittney’s ten-year-old daughter, Olivia, what she thought of Jane, she told me, “I loved Dr. Jane Goodall. Because of her, I will always try to find a way to protect our wildlife.”

s Jenifer and I stood in the conference room at the Jackson Lake Lodge, watching attendees crying and hugging, it became crystal clear to us the impact Jane’s life had globally. Here is what several who knew her well shared with me about her impact on their lives: “Jane had a way of making you feel special, especially if you were out there trying to make a difference. During her travels, she always found time for me, even after long days of events and meetings. We shared a love for dogs, our favorite animal. She’d toss peanuts for my Argos, laughing as he chased them across the room. Dear Jane, I’ll look for you in every wild being, in every dog’s eyes I meet.” —Andrea Crosta, Founder & Executive Director of Earth League International “Jane was my mentor, my second mother, my guiding star. No one outside my family has shaped my life more. She set me on my path. In 2008, in a tent in Greenland over a cup of whiskey, she leaned in and whispered, ‘Don’t you want to make films that can really matter, that can have an impact on this world?’ This was the moment that changed my life, and I will be forever grateful.” —Richard Ladkani, Award-Winning Filmmaker & Cofounder of Malaika Pictures “Jane signing a book for me in 2012 changed everything. Together we can change the world, she wrote. ‘Where are you from?’ she asked. ‘Chile,’ I said. She smiled and said, ‘We don’t have a Jane Goodall Institute in Chile—yet! Let’s talk.’ Jane

was not only inspiring; she was a strategist. Only a year later, at Jackson Wild, we had already been together in three countries planning her first visit to Chile. ‘See you in Chile next month,’ she said. That was Jane’s force to make things happen.” —René Araneda C., Award-Winning Filmmaker & Creative Director of Nedo Films “Jane changed my life. I was a Tanzanian kid in her Roots & Shoots club, and she taught me that small actions matter. Years later, I had the honor of filming with her in Tanzania, and just two months before she passed, we shared a whiskey and spoke about death and her joining the ‘cloud contingent.’ I carry her legacy forward through my films, reminding other Tanzanians, as she reminded me, that even the smallest actions can transform the world.” —Jigar Ganatra, Award-Winning Nature & Culture Filmmaker “Jane was an icon—there’s no other word, and even that feels small. Her story struck women so deeply because she forced open doors that were slammed in her face, enduring sexist headlines and trivial requests while reshaping science and how we see the world. She never yielded, and that fierce determination is the kind of freedom and purpose many of us long for. People will say she made everyone feel special, and she did. But her true gift was moving us to action. She cut through noise and excuses with a single conversation. She made you believe that changing the world began with changing yourself— and that no action was ever too small.” —Elizabeth Leiter, Award-Winning Director & Producer V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 29

I found it impossible to write this article without asking myself: Am I doing enough? What more can I do? When a person’s life story compels people, many of whom have never even met them, to ask these questions, that is the mark of a truly powerful legacy. As Elizabeth Leiter said, Jane’s greatest gift was her ability to move people to action. So, I leave you with two questions I am certain Jane would have asked all of us: What is your impact on others, on animals, on the environment, and on the planet? What can you do to make a difference in your own world?

Documentary filmmaker and environmentalist Dayna Reggero

“Most of us go through life feeling unheard,” says documentary filmmaker and environmentalist Dayna Reggero. ”I think that is why I began my listening journey, to offer what I needed.”

R

eggero is the founder and head of the Climate Listening Project, whose mission is to travel the world to hear and share stories from people struggling with environmental preservation due to industrialization, overfishing, drilling, and other human-induced crises that threaten ecosystems and ways of life. Listening to those whose voices often fall on deaf ears has allowed Reggero to amplify and spread stories that can affect real change and help save Mother Nature and the people who live in harmony with her. “I found listening isn’t only healing for those being heard, listening is healing for me, too,” Reggero shares. As part of the Jane Goodall Institute’s fortieth anniversary, the Climate Listening Project was featured in the organization’s Hope in Action campaign, which highlights things that can be accomplished today to promote a planet where humans, other animals, and the environment live in harmony. “Dr. Jane Goodall always said everything is connected—everyone can make a difference!” Reggero says. “The people I’ve met as a result of being inspired by Dr. Goodall have given me hope. I am honored to be a documentarian and to continue to listen with Dr. Jane Goodall’s legacy of Hope in Action in mind. I’ve been privileged to meet and share the work of other climate listeners, including Roishetta Ozane in Louisiana, Paula Swepson in North Carolina, and Amanda Abbott on Scenic Highway 30A in Florida.”

VIE is thrilled to honor Dr. Jane Goodall on our cover for this special Beauty & Wellness Issue, as we can’t think of a more beautiful soul than hers or a better representation of beauty than Mother Nature. In addition to being featured in the Hope in Action campaign, Reggero had the honor of meeting and listening to Goodall at her ninetieth birthday event, which she says is a moment she’ll never forget. “When Dr. Jane Goodall said her final goodbye, she was in her nineties—I was supposed to be with her at her event in Los Angeles the next day,” Reggero shares. “She never stopped internationally touring, speaking, and helping. I had listened with her in person one year before for her ninetieth birthday, and she was timeless—Mother Nature embodied—soft and strong, with brilliant energy and shining heart. I was honored to ask my hero for tips on how we can all be better listeners. She shared beautiful words on listening to nature first, so we can be better listeners to stories from the heart. She told me she is glad I am doing what I am doing and hugged me for the last time.” Reggero has inspired others by phrasing listening, which one might typically think of as a passive act, as an action that can make a big difference. This idea that sometimes all you need to do is listen to make a difference in the world has taken her

around the globe and opened the floor for people who have been silenced by governments or corporations to speak up about what is affecting them, their land, or their lifestyle. Reggero’s 2025 film, Apology to Earth, features her journey listening to coastal communities around the world, from Port St. Joe, Florida, to the Philippines and Japan. It premiered at the Redfish Film Festival in Panama City, Florida, alongside a special VIE Speaks podcast interview, and continues to receive recognition, including the Award of Excellence from the Documentaries Without Borders Film Festival. “I’ve traveled the world listening to farmers, faith leaders, mothers, doctors, celebrities—but I’m always my authentic self,” Reggero says. “This creates a safe space for people to respond by being their whole selves. It’s rare to find spaces where we feel heard as our true selves.”

It all goes back to Mother Nature, of course. Listening, Reggero says, offers a kind of healing that mirrors what happens in nature: “Nature invites us into authenticity. When we’re quiet enough to listen, our bodies regulate, and our sense of self becomes more aligned with who we truly are. When we listen to the natural world, something beautiful happens: nature hears us and heals us, too. Instead of searching for someone to hear us, we become the listener and our bodies respond with measurable shifts toward healing.” She continues, “Studies show that listening to birdsong, ocean waves, or wind in the trees reduces anxiety, lowers blood pressure, and boosts feelings of youthful vitality. Listening opens us to wonder and sonder, and we remember that every person carries a vast story and every ecosystem carries layers of wisdom. That shift in perspective restores a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, which science links to better mental health and improved immune function. Studies found that those who regularly experience wonder show greater vitality, and that awe lowers levels of proteins linked to inflammation and aging. Listening boosts longevity-related biological markers, reduces physiological stress markers (like cortisol), activates the parasympathetic nervous system to release good neurochemicals (like oxytocin and dopamine), and strengthens the prefrontal cortex (the empathy and regulation center of the brain). Increased empathy is linked to lower inflammation and longer lifespan, and active compassion gives us purpose, a proven longevity booster.”

Dr. Jane Goodall said we are part of nature, and caring for nature is caring for ourselves. This universal message is so special, as it transcends borders, politics, societies, and faiths—it affects every human, no matter where or who you are. Reggero recently completed a thirteen-state tour with Blessed Tomorrow, listening to thirty pastors and faith leaders across the United States, who spoke to her about how they care for nature and community. She also has a seven-part documentary series on biodiversity and climate adaptation, with more coming soon. Reggero will continue her work heading into 2026 by listening to climate activists and the natural landscape along Scenic Highway 30A in Florida, where rare coastal dune lakes are an important and awe-inspiring part of the ecosystem. This project, made possible by a grant from the SOWAL Foundation and an artist residency at Hibiscus Guesthouse in Grayton Beach, culminates in a documentary with a special foreword by Dr. Jane Goodall. “I’m very excited to be artist-in-residence at Hibiscus Guesthouse,” Reggero shares. “The nature at Hibiscus offers the peaceful healing needed to create and continue to listen. As their sign out front might say, ‘Be Listening.’”

Happy Little Mother founder Aspen Luzier with her sons, Beck and Hudson

WIFE, MOTHER, FRIEND, SISTER-IN-LAW, MODEL, CREATIVE, ENTREPRENEUR—THE LIST OF TITLES IS STILL GROWING FOR ASPEN LUZIER.

I’m lucky enough to call her my sister-in-law, but even setting my bias aside, Aspen has an incredible story marked by heart, determination, and an unwavering commitment to staying true to herself. It’s the kind of story in which any woman, mother, or creator can find a piece of themselves. At the helm of Happy Little Mother, a lifestyle brand that speaks directly to modern motherhood, Aspen Luzier has transformed her personal journey—one shaped by challenges, heartaches, reinventions, and quiet breakthroughs—into a movement rooted in mental health awareness, creativity, and the permission to remain vulnerable at any age. Aspen didn’t grow up with a clearly defined dream, but more so a desire to create things. She wanted to make things that helped her feel seen and assisted in growing deeply rooted connections. Many can relate to her now, but as a child, she was very shy and unsure of herself, which led to her needs often being overlooked. So she searched for avenues that thrived in storytelling and expression. V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 41

an unapologetic one at that, and showed a fearlessness both in front of the camera and behind it that Aspen was still waiting to harness within herself. The tides started to turn when she poured her heart into modeling, giving it all she had. Friendships formed. Mentors appeared. Those relationships shaped her, helped her find meaning within herself, and taught her the power of being truly seen. “LOOKING BACK, I SEE A YOUNG GIRL TRYING TO FEED HER MIND AND SOUL WITH ANYTHING THAT FELT COLORFUL, EXPRESSIVE, OR ALIVE,” SHE SAYS. Modeling became her first true doorway into that world. Every new booking wasn’t just a job, but an exploration—a chance to meet a new version of herself or step into a character she hadn’t met yet. As time went on, it became less about being in front of the camera and more about everything behind it, whether that was building the wardrobe, studying the set, or imagining the backstory. The creativity caught Aspen’s attention long before the flash ever did. In the early 2000s, if you asked any girl who her favorite model was, you’d hear answers like Pamela Anderson or Brooke Burke. Aspen was no exception. It wasn’t their looks that drew her in but their presence. They carried themselves with such confidence,

Success in modeling brought new opportunities, including one that changed the trajectory of her entire life: hosting an event called Rivalry Nights, a mash-up of football, cars, and music. The models were to interview the musical acts, and the weekend of Aspen’s interviews, the main act was the band Korn. She knew absolutely nothing about them or their music, let alone any of the members. She admits that saying she was dreading the encounter would be putting it lightly! Then, before she knew it, Ray Luzier stepped up for his interview. Ray is the powerhouse drummer for the band and is widely known for his infectious and relentless energy. “The moment he walked up, my nerves shot through the roof,” Aspen recalls. “I didn’t know what to say, and the first words that came out of my mouth were… Well, let’s just say I still cringe when I think about them. And to make it even better—those very first words we ever exchanged are caught on film.” But looking back, that uncomfortable, unexpected moment turned out to be one of the best in her life, as Ray later became her husband. Another major turning point in Aspen’s life happened when she became pregnant with her first child, Hudson. Leaving Florida—the place she lived her entire life, where V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 43

her family and friends were—for the West Coast was a hard pivot. She was jumping into a completely new life with many unknowns: being a first-time mother, navigating being a new wife with a spouse who was often on tour, and moving to a new location far from the rest of her support system. She felt like it was a time of survival, reinvention, and doing whatever it took to make this new life work. Aspen’s lifestyle brand, Happy Little Mother, had many iterations over the years before becoming permanent in 2020 through a partnership with her best friend of twenty years, Beth. The two noticed they were moving through a lot of similar life journeys. During what started as a mini therapy session, one simple day discussing life, loss, and everything in between, an idea bubbled up: let’s build something creative together! Many names were thrown around, and ideas were scribbled down, but Happy Little Mother rose to the top. It carried softness, resilience, and the quiet hope they were both trying to rediscover. At first, the purpose wasn’t to build a company. It was really two friends rebuilding themselves and each other, but over time, a real joy and passion seeped into the process. It became a project rooted in healing, identity, and the shared human experiences of womanhood and motherhood. 44 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

As things progressed and the clothing brand was becoming more recognized, Aspen realized what moved her most wasn’t the product—it was the people. Women began approaching her with stories, vulnerability, and a desire to feel seen and understood. It sounded very familiar. One of the brand’s early milestones wasn’t a sales number or product launch; it was hearing someone speak the name Happy Little Mother on social media. Hearing it echoed back, belonging to a community larger than her, made Aspen’s dream come true. At its core, Happy Little Mother became Aspen’s creative outlet, where she could finally express herself, release years of internal ache, and allow her emotional world to exist without silence or apology. She could also use it to help others do the same. “For me, advocating for mental health isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating space,” she shares. “Space where women can feel safe, seen, and validated. Space where our emotional lives aren’t treated as weaknesses, but as truths worth honoring.” The brand evolved into a vehicle for that advocacy. It’s present in the messaging, the community that’s been built around it, and even the simple conversations that happen behind closed doors. Many companies or brands aren’t worried about you after you make a purchase or head through the exit door, but Aspen focuses on what happens after. HER HOPE IS SIMPLE AND PROFOUND: THAT WOMEN LEAVE FEELING SEEN. FEEL LESS ALONE. BE MORE UNDERSTOOD.

Moving throughout the entertainment industry and now the entrepreneurial industry, she’s heard all the advice imaginable. Amid all the dos and don’ts, one very important piece that has stayed with her is the importance of moving through life without expectations. Expectations, she’s learned, function like an invisible cage, quietly setting us up for disappointment. When you leave that at the door, life can suddenly feel more spacious, more generous. Some of the most beautiful chapters of her life came from moments that couldn’t have been planned or predicted. The real magic—the kind that changes you—happens in the unexpected. In a world that often expects women, and especially mothers, to carry everything quietly, Aspen Luzier chooses to represent and create loudly. She has built a refuge, a reminder, and a shared language for women who are learning to honor all the parts of themselves: who they were, who they are, and who they are becoming. Aspen’s journey reflects the beauty of reinvention and the power of listening to the voice inside that says, “You can do it.” As her community continues to grow, so does the ripple effect of her work. Aspen isn’t just shaping a business; she’s shaping a movement rooted in compassion and the simple act of showing up authentically. And for countless mothers, that might be her greatest creation of all.

STRIVING for GREATNESS Brooke Kromer’s Guide to Balance, Beauty & New Beginnings

By Caitlyn Burrus 46 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

Le monde

From the roar of NFL stadiums to the rhythm of waves rolling onto the white sands along Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A, Brooke Kromer has learned that life, like football, is all about balance, discipline, and heart.

aised in the fast-paced world of professional sports and now thriving in the relaxed yet driven energy of the Emerald Coast, Kromer embodies what it means to evolve, finding purpose in each new chapter while staying rooted in wellness and authenticity. For Brooke, growing up in a football family meant constant motion and a series of new beginnings. Her father, longtime NFL coach Aaron Kromer, and her brother Zak’s career in the league gave her a front-row seat to what it takes to build success from the inside out. “It was amazing—adventurous,” she says of being the daughter of an NFL coach. “We moved every few years, always meeting new people. Being around greatness your whole life tends to breed success. There’s no option when you grow up in a world like that. You’re always driven.” Watching her father build teams left a lasting impression on her. “I learned how to build a team by watching him do it his whole life,” she says. “That’s something I’ve carried into real estate now. Health and wellness were also pillars for us. We were taught to eat well, work hard, and strive for greatness in every area of life.” That competitive edge naturally carried Brooke into her first career, sports broadcasting, where she spent years reporting on the sidelines of the NFL, sharing the stories and “why” behind some of the game’s

greatest athletes. “Growing up around the NFL, I didn’t know anything else,” she says. “But I always admired the strong women on the sidelines telling the players’ stories, sharing their why with the world. That became my passion.” Breaking into a field often dominated by legacy and connections presented its own challenges. “A lot of people thought I was handed opportunities because of my dad,” she admits. “He may have opened the door, but I was the one keeping it open. I had to work twice as hard to prove myself.” Yet, the rewards outweighed the struggle. “The relationships I built were incredible. The NFL is a small community; the people become family. Everywhere I go, I have someone from that world who feels like home.”

Like many, Brooke’s perspective shifted during the pandemic. “I had been racing toward this dream of being on the NFL Network,” she says. “When the world slowed down, I had time to think. I came to 30A, and I realized peace could also be part of success. I didn’t have to give up every weekend, every holiday, every birthday to feel fulfilled.” That clarity led her to pivot into real estate, a career that merged her love of people, storytelling, and strategy. “All those years building relationships and being a journalist prepared me for this,” Brooke says. “Now I help athletes and families make smart, joyful investments, whether it’s a second home or a beach getaway where they can truly unwind.”

Today, Brooke leads Kromer Collective, a growing real estate team on 30A that reflects her core values of collaboration, excellence, and authenticity. “I watched my dad build teams his whole life, and now I get to do that in my own way,” she says. “Everyone on my team has something special about them—maybe they’re better than me at something, or are still discovering their strengths. Helping them find that and realize their potential is what makes it so rewarding.” Life on 30A has proven to be the perfect backdrop for her next act. “The wellness aspect of being here is huge,” she shares. “You can park your car and just be. Take long walks, enjoy the beach, and feel that peace. Everyone’s in such a positive mindset, it attracts people at the top of their game who are looking for balance.”

alance has become Brooke’s mantra, and it’s reflected in every part of her routine. “I’ve started waking up earlier, reading my Bible, and beginning my day with gratitude,” she says. “Pilates has challenged me in the best way, and long walks on the beach are my therapy. It’s about feeding my body physically, mentally, and spiritually.”

Her approach to beauty and confidence is equally grounded. “Even if I’m not going anywhere, I take time to do my hair and makeup. It’s not about vanity, it’s about showing up for yourself,” she explains. “Confidence doesn’t come naturally; I had to work on it. Starting to speak on camera at sixteen taught me how to hype myself up, and now I love hyping up others. Whether it’s walking onto a sideline or into a client meeting, I remind myself that I deserve a seat at the table.” Her definition of success has evolved, too. “In sports media, success was about me climbing the ladder,” Brooke reflects. “Now, it’s about us, my team, my clients, and our shared growth. That’s the best part.” As for advice to anyone standing at a crossroads, Brooke’s answer is simple: “Say yes to opportunities. Even if you don’t know what’s next, walk through that open door. Moving to 30A and starting from the bottom was scary, but it’s brought me so much joy. You never want to look back and wonder, ‘what if ?’” For Brooke Kromer, life on 30A isn’t just a change of scenery from the hustle of the sports world; it’s where faith, purpose, and passion align. “This is my meant-to-be space,” she says, smiling. “I’ve been coming here since I was nine, and it feels like home. Finding what makes you special—that’s the real key to success. When you’re unapologetically yourself, abundance follows.”

Prayer flags and clusters of quaint villages perch atop rolling hills, each bend of the valley revealing untouched emerald mountaintops. Bhutan, famously known as “The Land of the Thunder Dragon”, has remained remarkably undisturbed by tourism, upheld by its highvalue, low-volume policy since opening its borders in 1974. Its beauty is truly one of a kind, and no place in the world rivals the serenity of Bhutanese culture. V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 53

y journey ferried me between the two Pemako properties, Bhutan’s first locally owned and managed luxury hotel group, with locations in Punakha and Thimphu. Unlike many global luxury chains, Pemako is defined by its personalized service and deeply rooted Bhutanese hospitality. I began in Punakha, where I was welcomed by gracious staff upon arrival, followed by a blessing ceremony led by a monk. The property, which opened in 2023, features twenty-one private villas tucked along the mountainside. Options range from single and double villas to the expansive presidential suite, making it an ideal spot for any kind of traveler. The architecture is a contemporary interpretation of Bhutanese tradition, conceptually designed by Bill Bensley.

Every villa is infused with bold Bhutanese-inspired interiors, each piece holding its own story. Orange accents bring a striking pop of color to the resort’s serene palette, completed with a private pool overlooking the vast rice fields and the Mo Chhu river. The most unforgettable detail is the custom oversized beds, wide enough to make you forget what a normal bed feels like.

Pemako Punakha offers a serene blend of nature, Bhutanese tradition, and luxury.

The amenities are equally exceptional, with enough to occupy days without even leaving the property. My mornings began with a personal Sorig Yoga session, followed by breakfast at Soma restaurant. Pemako’s commitment to wellness shines through its intricately designed wellness activities, including yak butter massages, traditional stone baths, meditation, and astrology consultations with the resident monk. I spent my time learning the cultural significance of each practice, tried Bhutan’s national sport, archery, and even learned how to make ara, the country’s traditional rice wine. The Five Nektars Bar sat beside the river, offering a surreal space to enjoy an evening cocktail. Pemako’s culinary program is unforgettable. The menu draws on both traditional Bhutanese cuisine and global influences. Fruits and vegetables from the on-site garden elevate every dish with vibrant flavor. Pemako Phunaka offers an array of gastronomic experiences for each guest’s personal taste. hen I arrived at Pemako Thimphu, the remote quietness of Punakha shifted to the lively streets of the capital city. Built in line with traditional architectural codes, the property offers a more classic luxury hotel experience. Pemako Thimphu, with sixty-six suites, is one of Bhutan’s largest luxury hotels. As the older of the two properties, it is currently undergoing a gentle renovation, introducing a modern twist to the traditional design. Its main restaurant, Thongsel, serves a variety of international dishes, while Chigjagye offers an elevated Bhutanese dining experience in a captivating space, with walls lined with ruby-red curtains and ornate patterns.

Each Pemako property lies close to various cultural landmarks. In Phunaka, take a hike to the Punakha Dzong, revealing the breathtaking views of the Mo Chhu River and valleys below. In Thimphu, guests can discover the Taschinchho Dzong, home to the beloved king’s office, or spend a day at the Royal Takin Park to see Bhutan’s unique national animal. Bhutan requires visitors to explore cultural sites with an approved guide to preserve the sanctity of each landmark. As a result, tourism remains thoughtful and refreshingly free of crowds.

Pemako Thimphu’s Lotus Realm is the perfect spot for rejuvenation. The gym is fully stocked with equipment and an assortment of fresh juices and infused waters. Downstairs, a sauna, steam room, heated pool, and hot tub offer guests even deeper relaxation. Ara, the hotel’s bar—named after Bhutan’s traditional spirit—also offers a serene setting for guests to unwind with a glass of wine, local beer, or craft cocktail.

Bhutan offers a sacred cultural heritage that is impossible to replicate. During my stay, I immersed myself in its Buddhist traditions and the country’s guiding philosophy of Gross National Happiness, each day diving deeper into what makes this kingdom so extraordinary. Every person I met spoke of their heritage with a contagious passion and sincerity.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, with easy access to explore all of Thimphu. Whether you’re visiting the Buddha Dordenma, exploring centuriesold dzongs (traditional fortified monasteries), or wandering the city’s bustling streets, Thimphu offers something for every traveler.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Dasho Wangchuk Dorji, the chairman of Pemako. He shared his vision for the brand’s future, including a third location in Paro, set to open in 2029. While each property will maintain its own identity, Dorji emphasized that Pemako will always remain steadfast in Bhutanese hospitality and culture. The new Paro location will reflect a modern concept focused on wellness.

I left Pemako feeling profoundly enriched, and I already find myself counting down the days until I can experience the hotel brand’s next destination.

ccording to the 2026 Virtuoso Luxe Report, wellness experiences now rank as a top driver in consumer travel decisions. More than just a trip to the hotel gym or spa, wellness programs range from sleep-promoting getaways for rest and relaxation to expert-led movement programs for physical recovery. These three waterfront resorts are contenders for some of the world’s best wellness programs.

w o n d r o u s w e l l n e s s at a m a n ya r a Amanyara in the Turks & Caicos has added uniquely tailored mindfulness meditation and movement classes that go beyond fitness to a more holistic approach to overall wellness for body, mind, and spirit. “It’s not just about working your muscles,” says Celia Polyzou, an advanced therapeutic practitioner at Amanyara. “Wellness is a deeper thing, beyond a class you go to for one hour. It’s about what you listen to, what you read, what you’re thinking about, and whether you are on your phone too much.” Set within an 18,000-acre nature reserve, Amanyara is designed to welcome travelers seeking tranquility wrapped in the embrace of the Zen-like luxury of its pagoda-style pavilions and villas. There’s no music blaring on the beach at Amanyara. Resort guests hear only the restorative sounds of crashing waves and tropical birdsong. Instructors at Amanyara lead programs that include refining racket sports movements and how to slow down, reset, and be more present through Pilates and yoga. Want to further expand your mind on vacation? Take a lesson in chess strategies or a guided nature walk to learn about the island’s indigenous plants and flowers. V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 69

Locally caught grouper, snapper, and Caribbean spiny lobster are prepared with Asian-inspired citrus sauces and complement the resort’s Japanese menu of sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls. All selections are clearly labeled to indicate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free. For dessert happiness, mango crème brûlée or fresh fruit “ceviche” with coconut sorbet are celebrations of tropical flavor.

Aman guests leave with more than memories of a great vacation. They are encouraged to take well-being lessons home with them to help improve life beyond the sand and sea.

tranquil tradition at playa grande beach club Another aspect of enjoying a “quiet-cation” is the widening appeal of being surrounded by a nostalgic setting that reflects cultural heritage and times past. “You would expect nostalgia to run richest in the boomer generation or possibly Gen X,” says Chris Davidson of the global travel marketing agency MMGY. “But our research shows it is appealing to younger generations.” Nostalgic comfort is built into every detail at Playa Grande Beach Club, nestled on the north beaches of the Dominican Republic. This pastel paradise, with décor by renowned interior designer Celerie Kemble, is a chic fusion of traditional Dominican colonial architecture, with its Victorian gingerbread-style woodwork combined with the colorful Palm Beach whimsy aesthetic.

Each antique-filled bungalow (including a brand-new two-bedroom) is unique, with the bohemian flair of wicker, cane, and bamboo furniture. Wide porches and louvered doors allow for open-air living, taking in the scent of torch ginger blooming outside and the sounds of the surf just steps away. Locally made sea salt and lime soaps in the bath and yuca and plantain chips in the kitchen lend a special island welcome.

There are pastel-painted bicycles available for exploring the grounds, a swimming pool surrounded by cute cabanas, a newly built gym, and guided nature hikes through the hills of an expansive national nature preserve. Need a snack? Look no further than the nearest mango tree. The heart of Playa Grande is the main clubhouse with a seashell-studded bar where guests gather for morning coffee, lunch, sunset cocktails, and dinner. The menu celebrates Caribbean cuisine, including grilled chicken with Dominican salsa verde and native red snapper with coconut sauce. The lounge and library, with the upstairs Star Bar, offer yet another tranquil escape to view the property’s lush tropical gardens or twinkling stars at night. Designed to feel like a beloved family beach home where you are a well-cared-for guest, Playa Grande Beach Club is a Dominican haven of timeless elegance.

That slow-down-and-savor philosophy is beautifully represented in the design of Bermuda’s newest luxury oceanfront hotel, AZURA. Built on a bluff along Bermuda’s south shore, the boutique hotel’s sixty rooms, suites, and villas feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors and balconies that treat guests to spectacular, unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and the private pink-sand beach below. The clifftop setting for AZURA’s sleek contemporary architecture makes you feel like you’re hovering above the sea and distinguishes it from the island’s traditional pastel-colored Bermudian cottages. For travelers who crave relaxation and rejuvenation, there’s a wellness center and four swimming pools, including the Ocean Pool at beach level that fills with fresh saltwater from the Atlantic, and the rooftop Sky Pool with 360-degree views of the resort and surrounding reefs. Stunning ocean views also await at the hotel’s SURF restaurant. Its seafood-forward Mediterraneanmeets-island-style menu features a catch of the day, such as wahoo, grouper, and snapper—plus, dive into a classic Bermuda fish chowder. All rested up and fancy a day exploring Bermuda? It’s only a ten-minute drive to the lively capital city of Hamilton, as well as plenty of golf courses and natural wonders to discover, including an underground tour of the Crystal Caves. Discovered by Juan de Bermúdez in 1503 and first colonized by the British in 1612, Bermuda is steeped in tradition. It’s “business as usual” to see men dressed in Bermuda shorts worn with a blazer, tie, and knee socks. Complete the look with a Dark ’n’ Stormy cocktail made with rum and ginger beer. Or if your guide is doing the driving, top that off with a Rum Swizzle at the historic Swizzle Inn, first opened in 1932. Dinner at the elegant Fourways Inn, built in the 1720s, will take you back in time while you enjoy traditional Bermudian cuisine served with tableside service flair. Wherever you wander while in Bermuda, the island’s natural beauty takes center stage—yet another bonus of choosing where to travel when wellness leads the way.

itting a milestone like forty years in business is an incredible feat for anyone, especially in the competitive, fickle restaurant industry. But through a determination to succeed, a vision for creating a special community hangout, and a lot of grace, Dave Rauschkolb and the team at Bud & Alley’s Waterfront Restaurant in Seaside, Florida, have achieved all that and more. The iconic restaurant and bar along Scenic Highway 30A in Northwest Florida celebrates its fortieth anniversary on January 15, 2026. Patrons can join the team for a special toast and, of course, the nightly tradition of ringing the bell on the rooftop bar area to signify sunset over the Gulf. When speaking about the anniversary and the history of Bud & Alley’s, owner Rauschkolb carries a theme through his commentary, continually referring to his career as a restaurateur as “a privilege.”

hen I see how the restaurant has evolved and transformed over the years, and that I had the privilege of buying the property from Seasider founders Robert and Daryl Davis— that they would trust me with it—it’s an honor to know what we’ve done here,” Rauschkolb says. “We’ve been like the entertainment capital on 30A for many years, starting back when we were one of the only restaurants here. We had live jazz back when no one else was really doing music, and our legacy is well known along 30A and around the country with people coming back year after year.” Rauschkolb says he thinks of some of the other longtime restaurants on 30A—Paradis, Café Thirty-A, and Café Tango, to name a few—as others who have woven a “fabric of excellence” for culinary ventures in the area. He is proud that Bud & Alley’s has been part of that growth for the past forty years and shows no signs of slowing down. When he opened Bud & Alley’s with his business partner, Scott Witcoski, in 1986, he never dreamed the eatery would one day expand to two stories, multiple dining rooms bars, and outdoor seating areas, plus two adjacent spin-off, Bud & Alley’s Pizza Bar and Bud & Alley’s Taco Bar, which were more recently all united under the same roof in the heart of Seaside. The thing that never changed from the dining spot’s humble beginnings in a Gulf-front cottage is the philosophy of “Good Food. Good People. Good Times.”

we would become—a casual, unpretentious eatery with great food.”

“We had laughed when Scott said we should name the restaurant after Robert’s dachshund, Bud, and Scott’s cat, Alley,” Dave reminisces on the establishment’s origin story. “We were on a deadline to put a listing in the phone book, and throwing out ideas when Robert’s secretary said she liked the name Bud & Alley’s. It seemed crazy at the time, but it was the perfect personification of what

Knowing Bud & Alley’s has built up such a loyal base of fans is the biggest compliment of all, he shares. “When people stop me in Publix or Seaside and speak of Bud & Alley’s with such reverence, it means everything. It takes hard work and dedication

Rauschkolb’s fourth Seaside venture, Black Bear Bread Company, whose second location is located across Scenic Highway 30A beside The Court hotel (the first is a couple of miles west in Grayton Beach). “I just pinch myself when I see that,” Rauschkolb admits. “Sometimes I like to sit at the end of the bar, maybe in a hat so I’m less recognizable, and listen to stories people tell in Bud & Alley’s about how they’ve been coming there for years or what their favorite menu items are. It’s just such a privilege to know we’ve made a difference in people’s lives and their vacation experiences.” Regarding what’s next after the forty-year mark, Raushkolb says there’s no end in sight. “I’m ready to roll into year forty-one, forty-two, and so on,” he says with confidence. to get where we are, and that shows in our team as well. We’ve got staff members who have worked there for decades, even up to thirty years, and they make it look effortless.”

Stay tuned to learn more about Bud & Alley’s fortieth anniversary celebration, which will be coming up in the Spring of 2026!

here’s a particular rhythm to life along Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A, with slow mornings, salty seabreezes, and people moving through their days at a pace that feels intentional and unhurried. Aligning with that lifestyle, The Shops at The Hub is a thoughtfully curated shopping destination, where beauty, wellness, and self-care can be discovered alongside a collection of boutique storefronts. This January, as fresh goals take shape and people settle into a new year with intention, four wellness-driven merchants, Vivo Spa 30A, MH Salon 30A, Posh Polished 30A, and Sculpt Studio, offer a look into modern self-care on this stretch of the coast. Each business has its own personality. Together, they reflect a shared vision of community-rooted wellness on 30A.

Vivo Spa 30A tepping into Vivo Spa 30A is like entering a softer, slower world. Owner Eve Nava and her team define wellness as “a holistic, deeply personal experience, one that honors both the body and the mind.” Every detail reflects that philosophy, from the warm welcome at the door to the soft lighting, curated music, calming aromas, and robe-and-slippers ritual that marks the beginning of proper restoration.

Behind the scenes, meticulous attention to detail elevates the experience even further. “Cleanliness, organization, and product selection are all held to the highest standard,” Nava explains. From the linens to the tools to the textures of the products themselves, everything is chosen to feel intentional and luxurious. Guests are even offered infused water or champagne before their treatment begins, setting the tone for relaxation.

Their signature Honey Lavender Retreat is one of the first and most beloved expressions of the spa’s ethos. This multi-layered journey blends aromatherapy using their signature Lola’s blends, a honey lavender scrub, hot stones, and gentle Thai-inspired stretching. Sensory and indulgent, it embodies Vivo’s belief that “It’s more than a massage… It’s an experience designed to leave you feeling restored from the inside out.”

Evolving with their clients’ needs, Vivo recently introduced injectables and advanced skincare such as microneedling, creating a seamless bridge between spa ritual and long-term results delivered in their signature calming environment. New memberships and packages were thoughtfully designed for locals and frequent visitors seeking consistent self-care year-round.

As founder Maria Heckscher says, “Beauty and wellness meet in the way we care for the hair itself.” As a Green Circle Certified Salon, MH recycles the majority of its beauty waste, adding a meaningful, sustainability layer in everything they do. This season, clients are gravitating toward effortless, natural beauty; dimensional color, luminous shine, and looks that grow out gracefully. Strengthening and repair services are especially requested. MH Salon’s Framesi Morphosis Restructure treatment is a guest favorite. Scalp focused services are also growing, as more people seek long-term hair wellness alongside beauty. Every appointment at MH Salon offers a renewal of both appearance and spirit. Guests are welcomed with an espresso or glass of wine before engaging in their consultation. Relaxing scalp massages during a shampoo, along with a calming atmosphere, set the tone.

The salon’s commitment to Framesi products, free of sulfates, parabens, synthetic dyes, and gluten, reflects its vision for mindful, performancedriven care. The team’s specialties include dimensional blonding, corrective color, modern cuts, and treatments designed to rebuild and strengthen hair from the inside out. Ongoing education keeps MH Salon’s standards high and ensures that every guest receives the best care. Located within the lively yet relaxed environment of The Shops at The Hub, MH Salon thrives in a community-centered setting filled with art, boutiques, and coastal style. Posh Polished 30A At Posh Polished 30A, self-care is expressed through non-toxic beauty. “Beauty should feel clean, intentional, and deeply restorative,” shares owner Aika Ramsey. The philosophy is reflected in every aspect of the studio. It is especially known for Dazzle Dry, a revolutionary, UV-free polish system that dries quickly, lasts beautifully, and aligns perfectly with Posh Polished 30A’s toxin-conscious approach. January brings a surge of guests seeking a reset through Dazzle Dry manicures, immaculate Russian manicures with strengthening gel, nonacid Aprés Gel-X extensions, and deeply hydrating pedicures. Each service is gently crafted with precise artistry. Safety and cleanliness underpin each luxury experience. Posh Polished 30A uses medical-grade sterilization, single-use disposables, and non-acid systems that create a clean, low-odor environment. Paired with soft lighting, peaceful music, and impeccable service, the studio feels like a refuge for locals and travelers alike. The team champions advanced, health-forward techniques, including HEMA-free gel systems, Russian prep, and spa-grade masks and serums. As the new year unfolds, Posh Polished 30A encourages simple, consistent rituals: daily cuticle oil, monthly nail care, gentle foot exfoliation, and grounding habits like mindful breathing. Small touches, repeated often, build long-lasting strength and radiance.

Sculpt Studio or those craving strength, movement, and a grounded mind-body connection, Sculpt Studio brings a vibrant fitness energy to The Shops at The Hub. Owners MJ and Bentley Jackson’s philosophy is simple and empowering: “feeling strong enough to do what you love, mobile enough to move with ease, and grounded enough to be fully present in your life.” Sculpt’s signature class combines strength training, mobility work, and functional movement, all set to intentional pacing and music—creating a workout that feels both energizing and grounding. Playlists rise and fall with each segment, helping clients stay present in their bodies. Every class ends with slow stretching and breathwork, an intentional shift from high energy to grounded calm before stepping back into the day. Warm, bright, and coastal, the studio atmosphere is welcoming and non-intimidating. Modifications are offered for every fitness level. Many first-time guests walk in nervous and leave declaring it the highlight of their week or trip. This year, Sculpt has seen a growing interest in long-term wellness over quick fixes. Clients are prioritizing joint strength, sustainable routines, and confidence at every age. This demand shapes Sculpt’s emphasis on effective low-impact workouts and mobility-based strength training.

What truly sets the studio apart is its consistency and owner-led instruction; every class is taught by the creator, MJ Jackson, who brings more than fifteen years of full-time teaching experience. The minimalist equipment (just a mat and light dumbbells) makes the format accessible yet powerful. Outside of Sculpt, Jackson encourages guests to lean into consistency rather than intensity with daily walks, stretching breaks, hydration, sleep, deep breathing, and gratitude. These “wellness snacks” accumulate over time, supporting the version of themselves they hope to grow into.

Your Personal

Interview by J O R D A N S TA G G S

SKIN COACH “I fell in love with skincare after receiving my first facial while I was enrolled in cosmetology school back in the early ’90s!” says Kristen Baggett, licensed facial specialist (LFS) and aesthetician at Restore Skin & Wellness in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

“I came home to tell my mother all about this amazing facial I had just experienced. I was immediately hooked for life. I completed my education as a cosmetologist and went back for my aesthetician degree. Working in aesthetics opened my eyes to the impact this field can have, and that’s what’s kept me passionate all these years. I love helping people feel comfortable in their own skin, and that’s truly what set the foundation for my career as an aesthetician.”

A proud local of South Walton for twenty years, Kristen has an extensive medical background that allows her to combine clinical precision with artistic skin care, crafting customized treatment plans for each individual. VIE was thrilled to chat with her about her work, the ins and outs of skincare, and how anyone can make changes to their daily habits to improve skin health and beauty! VIE: In your own words, what is an aesthetician? Kristen Baggett, LFS: Think of me as your personal skin coach. I’m here to help you navigate products, treatments, and routines, while educating you on what your skin truly needs. Whether we’re targeting acne, aging, texture, pigmentation, or simply maintaining a beautiful glow, my role is to safely guide you toward healthy, confident skin. I focus on treating the skin with customized, results-driven services such as facials, chemical peels, microneedling, HydraFacials, and other advanced treatments. My job is to assess your skin, understand your goals, and create a plan that supports long-term skin health, not just quick fixes. My favorite treatment

94 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

is microneedling; however, you can’t beat a HydraFacial with dermaplane! VIE: Terms like “microneedling” and “chemical peel” can sound intimidating. What can you tell us about these, and how can clients be properly prepared for them to ensure things go smoothly and achieve the desired effect? KB: Even though terms like “microneedling” and “chemical peel” can sound intense, they’re actually very safe, controlled treatments when done by a professional. Microneedling simply creates tiny microchannels to boost collagen, while chemical peels use gentle exfoliating solutions to brighten and smooth the skin. Preparation is key. I always recommend keeping the skin hydrated, pausing retinol a few days beforehand, and avoiding sun exposure. During the consultation, we walk through what to expect and how to care for the skin afterward. When clients understand the process, the treatments feel far less intimidating—and the results are always worth it. VIE: When did you first start working at Restore Skin & Wellness? What sets the clinic apart from others in our region?

La beauté

KB: I began working at Restore Skin & Wellness in Santa Rosa Beach in 2025, and from the moment I joined the team, it felt like home. After more than twenty years in the aesthetics industry, I had a clear vision of the kind of environment I wanted to be part of—one that balances medical-grade results with a genuine personalized approach to care. Restore has that rare blend. What truly sets Restore apart is our philosophy: we don’t rush, we don’t guess, and we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every treatment is intentional, customized, and rooted in education. We also pride ourselves on creating a peaceful, welcoming space where clients immediately feel at ease. Our team collaborates closely, combining advanced training, medical oversight, and a warm bedside manner to deliver treatments that are both effective and deeply supported. It’s that balance of clinical excellence and genuine connection that makes Restore unlike anywhere else. VIE: Do you feel there are often “trendy” treatments that people come in asking for each season or year? What are some of the trends you’re seeing in the industry? KB: Yes—there are definitely “trendy” treatments that come and go each season. Social media and celebrity influence often spark curiosity, and clients will come in asking about whatever is getting buzz at the moment. Right now, the biggest trends in aesthetics focus on natural, healthy-looking results. Collagen-stimulating treatments like microneedling are extremely popular, as are combination therapies that stack treatments for better results in less time. I’m also seeing a strong shift toward skin-barrier repair and overall skin wellness. Clients want long-term improvements, not quick fixes.

VIE: What are some tips for keeping our skin healthy and radiant at home in between visits? KB: Healthy, radiant skin truly starts with what you do at home in between your professional treatments. Consistency matters more than anything, and a few simple habits can make a huge difference.

SOME OF MY T OP T IP S I NC L U D E : KE E P A CO NS IS TE NT D A I L Y ROU T I N E . Cleansing, moisturizing, and wearing SPF every single day is the foundation of good skin. You don’t need twelve steps—just quality, consistent care.

NE V E R S KIP S U NS CR E EN . SPF is the most important anti-aging product you can use. It protects your results and prevents uneven tone, fine lines, and long-term damage.

U S E ME D ICA L -G R A D E S KINCA R E W HE N PO S SI B L E . Professional products penetrate deeper and create real change in the skin, helping you maintain the progress we make in the treatment room.

The biggest trend, though, is personalization. People are moving away from one-size-fits-all treatments and toward skincare plans tailored specifically to their goals and lifestyle. Our job is to help guide them beyond the hype and toward what will truly benefit their skin.

VIE: Living on the Gulf Coast, what should we look out for to help protect our skin from the elements?

HY D R A TE —INS ID E A ND OU T .

KB: Living on the Gulf Coast means our skin is exposed to strong sun, humidity, and heat nearly year-round, so protection is essential. Daily SPF is a must—UV rays reflect off the sand and water, making sun exposure even more intense. Adding a vitamin C antioxidant serum in the morning boosts defense against sun and heat-induced damage. Because humidity traps sweat, oil, and sunscreen on the skin, a thorough cleansing routine helps prevent congestion. It’s also important to support the skin barrier with hydrating ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid, especially after beach or pool days.

More exfoliation doesn’t mean better skin. In fact, too much can irritate and weaken your barrier. Gentle, intentional exfoliation goes a long way.

Drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized with products that support your barrier function, such as hyaluronic acid and ceramides.

L IS TE N TO Y O U R S KIN. If something feels too harsh or your skin is becoming reactive, scale back and simplify. Your skin will always tell you what it needs.

MA INTA IN R E G U L A R A P P OI N T M E N T S . Your at-home routine works best when paired with professional care. Treatments help reset the skin, while home care preserves your results.

Finally, be mindful of heat exposure. Overheating can worsen redness and melasma. Hats, shade, and skin cooling afterward go a long way. With a few V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 95

KB: I’m really looking forward to 2026 as a year of growth, both for my clients and for myself. The skincare industry is evolving quickly, and I’m excited to continue expanding my education, incorporating new technologies, and offering treatments that deliver even more personalized, natural-looking results. What excites me most, though, is deepening the relationships I have with my clients. Watching their confidence grow, seeing their long-term skin goals come to life, and being part of their wellness journey is truly the best part of what I do. VIE: Thank you, Kristen!

MORE THAN MAKEUP

The SAIE WAY to Conscious Beauty 98 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

La beauté

B Y K AT I E O G L E T R E E

PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF SAIE BEAUTY “One of our pillars—and something that’s so important and I’m so passionate about—is our environment and having the smallest footprint possible,” says founder Laney Crowell. The web series currently has eight episodes, each with its own focus. With the cinematic flair of a mini-documentary, it feels more like a movement than a marketing campaign.

EP. 1 “TRASH IS TREASURE” This episode focuses on Saie’s vintage merch initiative. The team travels to Los Angeles and works with a vintage “rag house” to source and repurpose branded merchandise rather than produce new fast-fashion items. It highlights the environmental impact of typical merch and shows Saie’s alternative: turnkey reuse and circular thinking.

EP. 2 “CORAL CRISIS”

S

ome of our favorite celebrities, influencers, and fashion icons wear Saie Beauty, founded in 2019. As consumers, we sometimes don’t expect makeup brands to be the most conscious when it comes to caring for the planet. We expect them to give us lasting foundation and waterproof mascara. But it’s a real treat when they give you those things and more! That’s exactly what you can expect from Saie Beauty. The Saie Way is a climate docuseries that began in 2024, marking a bold new chapter in the brand’s mission to align luxury with responsibility. Rather than explaining the work and the sustainable values they hold, Saie invited its community behind the scenes to show it all in practice. The digital content series goes beyond traditional marketing. Instead of focusing on products, it highlights the true heroes of climate action: the individuals and grassroots organizers in communities across the world who are working to keep the planet clean and healthy. From restoring local ecosystems to pioneering new recycling and packaging methods, these are the untold stories of genuine commitment to the planet.

This episode goes behind the scenes of Saie’s packaging and recycling efforts in collaboration with Pact Collective. It shows how finished beauty-product empties are collected, sorted, shredded, melted, and remolded into new packaging. The episode highlights the complexity of cosmetic waste recycling and the educational gap for consumers and brands.

E P . 3 “ R E N E WA B L E R E S O U R C E ” This episode follows the team as they travel to Connecticut and go beneath the surface of what it takes to create truly recyclable beauty packaging. It spotlights Saie’s partnership with Curtis Packaging and the journey of a single Lilac Saie carton. Viewers are taken onto the manufacturing floor, witness the steps required to certify a packaging material as “100% recyclable,” and learn how sourcing renewable resources isn’t just about what’s inside the box.

E P . 4 “ P L A N E T V S . P L A ST I C ” In this episode, the Saie team heads to Goa, India, to collaborate with rePurpose Global and witness firsthand how plastic pollution is being tackled at the source. Viewers are shown the scale and severity of plastic waste challenges in coastal and island-adjacent communities. It then transitions into how Saie and rePurpose have partnered to recover, sort, and repurpose plastic waste, turning what was discarded into actionable climate solutions.

EP. 5 “CIRCULAR BEAUTY” This episode shows the partnership between the Saie team and Pact Collective. Together, they tackle one of beauty’s toughest sustainability challenges: closing the loop on hard-to-recycle packaging. Pact collects empties that would otherwise end up in landfills, and Saie wants to give consumers a tangible, trackable way to recycle beauty products. It’s a reminder that conscious consumption doesn’t stop at checkout.

“In an industry that often hides behind glossy promises, Saie stands out for inviting us behind the curtain, reminding us that true beauty starts with accountability and that the future looks brighter when we build it—sustainably—together.”

E P . 6 “ Z E R O - WA ST E O N D I S P L A Y ” In this episode, the team at Saie turns the spotlight onto a less-obvious corner of the beauty world: retail displays and in-store merchandising. While most sustainability conversations focus on formulas or packaging, this episode shows how physical store fixtures also carry a climate footprint. The journey traces how the branded display materials are sourced from recycled or repurposed feeds, built to be dismantled and reused, and finally, how they may return to material loops at the end of life.

EP. 7 “NEW CYCLE” This episode follows how Saie turns its lens to the rising possibility of transforming plastic waste into meaningful infrastructure. Working through the brand’s climate initiative, the story follows how discarded plastics can be processed and reshaped into durable building materials. The journey highlights the science behind material conversion, the local communities impacted by plastic pollution, and the ripple effect of design-for-reuse: when waste becomes home, what does that mean for industries, ecosystems, and people?

E P . 8 “ W H A L E ’ S PA R A D I S E ” In this latest episode of the series, the Saie team travels to the vast blue of marine ecosystems to explore how the survival of majestic humpback

whales ties into our planet’s climate resilience. The story follows how whales help regulate ocean carbon absorption and support biodiversity, and how Saie’s climate initiative partners with marine conservation groups to protect critical whale breeding grounds. It highlights why guardianship of these “titans of the blue world” is fundamental to both wildlife protection and broader climate strategy. The docuseries is ongoing, and Saie plans to continue creating and highlighting more episodes, always bringing consumers along. Saie believes that true climate leadership isn’t just about what a brand sells, but what it stands for. The theme throughout each episode is how the Saie brand transforms abstract sustainability goals into tangible stories. What emerges is a portrait of a beauty brand that is unafraid to show the work—the imperfections, the progress, and the purpose behind every formula and initiative. In an industry that often hides behind glossy promises, Saie stands out for inviting us behind the curtain, reminding us that true beauty starts with accountability and that the future looks brighter when we build it—sustainably—together.

BUILDING STRENGTH from the INSIDE OUT

A N E XCLU SI VE FIRST LO OK at L AGRE E 3 0A

n this special Beauty and Wellness Issue, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Stephanie Wiesel, the visionary behind Lagree30A, which will bring the very first Lagree fitness studio to Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A area in January 2026. With a background in interior architecture and design paired with a deep passion for strength training, Stephanie is bringing something new to our local fitness landscape. Her studio will merge high-intensity and low-impact movement in a beautifully curated environment, creating an elevated experience for locals and visitors seeking a workout that delivers real results.

I NTE RVIE W by MORGA N CL AYB O URNE | PHOTO GR A PHY C O URTE SY of L AGRE E 3 0A 104 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

La vitalité s Stephanie prepares to open her doors, she shares the story behind her love for Lagree, the inspiration that sparked her desire to bring this method to Watersound Town Center near 30A, and how Lagree30A will stand out as a premium wellness destination in our community. Her enthusiasm, intention, and dedication shine throughout our conversation, and we are thrilled to give readers an exclusive first look at what is to come. VIE: Tell us how it all started! What inspired you to open 30A’s very first Lagree studio?

In addition to Lagree, I’ve taken many fitness classes over the years, including hot yoga, boot camps, Orangetheory, SoulCycle, and more. That sparked a passion for keeping my body in the best shape possible and opened my eyes to what else I could do beyond exercise. I am obsessed with health and wellness, and both are necessities I incorporate into my daily routine. It’s not the quick fix but the whole package of strength training, eating clean whole foods such as fruits, veggies, and lean protein, vitamins, supplements, medical-grade skin care, wellness outlets for relaxation such as a sauna and steam room, and moving your body every day in some way while having fun with it.

Stephanie Wiesel: Lagree is my absolute favorite strength training workout, and coming from someone who’s taken pretty much every fitness class under the sun, that says a lot! I was immediately hooked after attending my first Lagree Stephanie Wiesel, Lagree30A Owner class while living in Atlanta. After adding Lagree to my weekly workout Photo by Aspen Mansfield regimen of gym visits and cardio, I saw a drastic improvement in my body with lean muscle tone. Even while traveling for my previous job in interior architecture and design, I found Lagree studios near my hotels and attended classes. After relocating to 30A in 2020, I noticed the closest official Lagree studios were more than two hours away in every direction. I started teaching similar slow-resistance training classes at another studio in the area. I had always dreamed of having my own studio one day instead of just instructing, but I knew I had to be patient until the perfect space came along.

I am constantly educating myself, keeping up with the latest health, wellness, and fitness trends by listening to podcasts, reading articles, and communicating with other studio owners, instructors, and influencers via social media.

One day, I popped in for coffee at the new Starbucks in Watersound Town Center and noticed the space above. It was gorgeous, new construction with the opportunity to design and make it exactly my own. It had beautiful concrete floors, an outdoor balcony, high ceilings, and tons of windows with natural light. With my fifteen-plus years of experience in the interior design and construction industry, I instantly had a vision. I saw an opportunity to marry my two favorite things—interior design and Lagree. It was the perfect location to finally bring Lagree to 30A.

The Lagree30A studio environment is an exclusive and beautiful experience for the community. We offer an aesthetically pleasing space to hang, top-notch instructors, professionally built playlists, world-class equipment, and premium amenities. Whether they are a local resident or visitor for the weekend, our mission is to give every client the best overall workout experience possible and help them feel like their best self.

VIE: What is the mission behind Lagree30A, and how does it align with our local wellness community? SW: 30A is a very active, fitness, health, and wellness-driven community. The weather is mild and sunny most of the year. There are always people outside running, biking, golfing, and walking our beautiful stretch of beach. At Lagree30A, we bring variety to the local wellness community by incorporating strength training in a special way—an exceptional, low-impact, high-intensity workout that builds lean muscle quickly and efficiently. It’s a great addition to any outdoor cardio workout.

VIE: For readers who may be new to Lagree, how would you describe the method and what sets it apart from other forms of Pilates or strength training?

VIE: Tell us about yourself and how you got started in the wellness industry!! SW: I’ve always been passionate about having an active, healthy lifestyle and treating my body right, even from a young age, with competitive sports and outdoor activities growing up. I truly enjoy working out and how it makes me feel.

SW: The Lagree Method is an exercise method engineered to strengthen, tighten, and tone the muscles effectively and efficiently without excess stress on the joints, connective tissues, or spine. SW: Each class is a 45-minute, full-body, highintensity, low-impact strength-training workout on a Mega Pro Megaformer machine. The Mega Pro operates on a weighted spring system, creating resistance. Each move works to completely exhaust the muscle fibers through slow, controlled movements and constant tension, forcing both slow-twitch and fast-twitch fibers to fatigue and creating the signature shakes and metabolic stress for muscle growth, endurance, and toning. We have 16 MegaPro machines, are open seven days a week, and offer roughly 60 classes per week, including early morning, evening, and weekend classes. Each class is suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Our certified instructors teach a variety of levels in every class and provide modifications or progressions for every move. Our team gets to know each client, allowing them to customize instruction to individual fitness goals. VIE: What type of community do you hope to build within the studio? SW: At Lagree30A, we hope to build a tight-knit, rewarding, and motivating community. We want to provide not just a workout, but an exceptional overall experience. We have beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces where clients can hang out after class, check emails, sit with a friend, grab a drink, or take a quiet moment by themselves. Our instructors get to know our client community on a personal level, and every single one is different, 108 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

whether they’re recovering from an injury, expecting a new baby, or looking to grow their fitness routine. It was also important to have plenty of space between the machines, as our instructors spend 1:1 time with each client during class, suggesting modifications, progressions, or improvements to their form and alignment, helping them get the best workout possible within those 45 minutes. VIE: Are there any special events, collaborations, or workshops planned for the opening months? SW: Yes! We plan to host an opening party, monthly events such as Spin Saturdays with a live DJ in class, Saturday and Sunday football events, bachelorette parties, and seasonal special events. We will also have plenty of collaborations with local businesses, including restaurants, hotels, health and wellness facilities, and more. VIE: What are you most excited about as you prepare to open your doors in January? SW: Helping people feel like their best selves. Fitness and working out provide many people with an outlet to escape the stresses of work and everyday life, a mental break, and an opportunity to move their bodies. Sometimes it is the only hour they have in the day to focus solely on themselves. At Lagree30A, we do everything we can to make that workout experience the best it can possibly be. VIE: What is one piece of advice you would give to someone interested in getting involved with fitness or wellness this year?

SW: Have fun with it! Whether that means trying a new workout, eating cleaner, adding a supplement to your daily routine, or pushing yourself harder during an existing workout routine, find little ways to make it fun. Bring a friend to class and grab coffee afterward, find a fun recipe to meal prep, get a sleek water bottle for your supplements, or find a new move that challenges you. Treat yourself and your body to whatever makes you feel great, and this process should be enjoyable and fun. VIE: Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know? SW: Clients can download our app from the App Store on Apple and Android devices by searching for Lagree30A. Monthly memberships, class packages, retail items, and class bookings can all be purchased and managed through our app or website, Lagree30A.com. They can also sign up to receive weekly email updates with important studio information and a YouTube video. We have some exciting content coming, and our clients will be able to see Lagree30A take shape from now until we open. Clients can follow us on Instagram @lagree30a. La vitalité

By C A I T LY N B U R R U S P H O T O G R A P H Y C O U R T E S Y of A L Y S B E A C H

here is a rare sense of clarity found in Alys Beach, Florida, shaped by soaring white architecture, serene courtyards, and sunlight that seems to move softly between its sculpted lines. Thanks to the team of professionals at its facilities, wellness is not presented as a trend or a checklist but as a way of life, intentionally built into the landscape of this thoughtfully curated coastal community. As the town moves into the New Year, Alys Beach is deepening its commitment to holistic well-being through innovative programming, elevated amenities, and community-wide engagement. To explore how wellness is woven into every facet of life, I spoke with Diana Lane, director of public relations, as well as ZUMA Wellness Center’s head fitness professional, Patrick Hoffner, and assistant fitness professional, Kelli DeWispelare. Together, they shared insight into the philosophy, design, and evolving initiatives that continue to shape private wellness for homeowners and guests at Alys Beach. V I E MAGAZ INE . COM | 111

ellness in Alys Beach is rooted in the natural environment. “Wellness is inspired by our coastal setting and the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us,” Lane explains. From the Gulf waters and sugar-white beaches to the longleaf pine forest, wetlands, and pedestrian pathways, the landscape invites daily movement and outdoor exploration. This connection to nature is complemented by thoughtfully designed, state-of-the-art wellness facilities, including the ZUMA Wellness Center and Racquet Sports Facility, which support physical fitness, recovery, rejuvenation, and mental well-being in equal measure. Architecture plays a significant role in reinforcing this sense of calm. The town’s iconic whitewashed masonry is not only environmentally conscious but emotionally intentional. The high-albedo white roofs and walls create a natural cooling effect, reducing heat and energy use, while the color—reminiscent of the 2026 Pantone Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer—offers a sense of calm. “The cohesive white architecture doesn’t compete for attention,” Lane says. “Instead, it frees up mental space and creates a peaceful, soothing experience.” Movement is equally embedded in the town’s design. Built on New Urbanist principles, Alys Beach prioritizes walkability and human connection. Residences are thoughtfully placed closer together, interwoven with pocket parks, pedestrian paths, amenities, beach access points, and the expansive Nature Preserve. This density encourages residents and guests to walk or bike rather than drive, naturally integrating activity into daily life. Lane notes that this shared use of space also strengthens community, contributing to mental and emotional well-being alongside physical health. This philosophy comes to life at ZUMA Wellness Center and Racquet Sports Facility, where wellness is approached holistically. From the moment guests arrive, a Zen-like courtyard featuring wood, water, and natural textures sets a tranquil tone, while ZUMA Café offers infused water, coffees, teas, smoothies, 112 | JA NUA R Y 2 0 26

and protein-forward snacks. Inside, the facility is thoughtfully divided to support both movement and recovery, with cardio and strength training spaces, indoor and outdoor studios for Pilates, yoga, barre, and dynamic stretching, and treatment rooms and steam rooms designed for restoration. Outdoors, a covered lap pool supports aquatic training and classes like Bogafit, while an expansive courtyard garden provides space for TRX and bootcamp-style sessions. Adjacent to ZUMA, the Racquet Sports Facility features four American red-clay tennis courts, three pickleball courts, and generous green spaces with spectator seating and lounge areas. Racquet sports play a meaningful role in fostering connection and wellness within the Alys Beach community. According to Tyler Marengo, ZUMA’s director of racquets, the courts serve as a natural gathering place for homeowners and guests, bringing together longtime residents, new homeowners, and rental guests through shared experiences. From open pickleball play and live-ball tennis clinics to informal doubles matches, racquet sports offer a fun, social outlet that encourages movement while strengthening relationships on and off the court. “Our players are able to form great friendships on and off the courts,” Marengo shares, noting that these activities create an experience that is active, inclusive, and enjoyable for all.

La vitalité Beyond community connection, the racquets program also reinforces Alys Beach’s holistic approach to wellness through intentional movement and recovery. Whether guests prefer a more physical workout or a tactical, instructional session, the racquets team prioritizes balanced conditioning across all areas of the game. With years of high-level experience, ZUMA’s racquet professionals guide players through pre- and post-match exercises that support injury prevention and recovery, ensuring that time on the court contributes to both immediate enjoyment and long-term well-being.

DeWispelare adds, “but intelligent, adaptable movement.” Equally important is the quality of instruction, which the team believes is the key to building consistency and long-term engagement.

For Hoffner and DeWispelare, balance is the foundation of everything ZUMA offers. “True wellness isn’t built through intensity alone; it’s built through sustainability,” Hoffner explains. Equal emphasis on movement, recovery, and sleep allows the body to adapt and grow stronger without burnout.

Looking ahead to 2026, Alys Beach is expanding its wellness offerings even further with a collection of initiatives designed to deepen connection and accessibility across the community. New programming includes dedicated employee wellness initiatives and immersive retreats for residents and guests. “What excites us most is the opportunity to extend the ZUMA experience beyond the studio walls,” Hoffner shares. The employee wellness program is designed to foster camaraderie and collaboration among teams, while retreat weekends allow immersive experiences where movement, education, and restorative rest come together as the ultimate expression of modern luxury.

Programming at ZUMA is curated with intention and inclusivity, designed to meet people where they are. Classes emphasize foundational movement patterns, strength, stability, mobility, and cardiovascular health while offering progressions and modifications for all fitness levels. “The goal isn’t one-size-fits-all fitness,”

Beyond structured fitness, wellness in Alys Beach unfolds organically outdoors. Swimming, paddleboarding, sailing, biking, jogging, and leisurely walks along the beach or trails are part of everyday life. Community pools at ZUMA, Caliza Pool, the owner-exclusive Beach Club, and the soon-to-open Silva will offer additional spaces for relaxation and connection, reinforcing the idea that wellness doesn’t require a schedule; it simply requires presence.

At its heart, Alys Beach is a place for both activity and healing. Lane reflects on the community’s ability to support those navigating losses, illnesses, or recoveries, offering a natural and built environment that nurtures restoration.

As WELLNESS CONTINUES to EVOLVE, it REMAINS INTEGRAL to ALYS BEACH’S IDENTITY, TREATING WELLNESS as a LIFESTYLE RATHER than a GOAL, GROUNDED in HARMONY AMONG NATURE, ARCHITECTURE, and DAILY LIFE.

Inspirations 2026: The Year I Stop Trying to Fit into Old Jeans By Meghan Ryan Asbury A year ago, I cried in the dressing room over a pair of jeans. It wasn’t even about the size of the jeans. (Which is a whole soapbox for another time.) It was because I tried on twenty different pairs in different sizes, at five different stores, and none of them fit right. I was trying to button, zip, and squeeze myself into them, doing squats to make sure I could sit down comfortably, only to end up hating how they made parts of my body look. Deeper than the physical frustration was the internal shame I heaped on myself. Why did it bother me so much? In my thirties, shouldn’t I be more at peace in my own skin? I felt like I should be past wrestling with my thoughts at the mall. I thought I had outgrown the fifteen-year-old version of me who thought she had to be skinny to be accepted. On my best days, I’m at peace in my own body, but then something like a pair of jeans quickly makes me want to take extreme measures to be smaller again. And while I know a pair of jeans doesn’t define who I am, it doesn’t change the dread that comes with stepping into the dressing room. Stepping into a new year, many of us resolve to do better, get better, and be better. Our culture is inundated with wellness and fitness trends promising to make our bodies operate like they are fifteen forever. I’m all for health and taking care of yourself—you’ll find me taking supplements, doing my skincare routine, and “biohacking” with the best of them. But what if that’s not actually going to fix me? What if our obsession with wellness is making us more discontent and dissatisfied than ever? Maybe it’s because I’m Type A, or because I can be addicted to achievement, but New Year’s resolutions have always felt a little exhausting. They’re dressed up as motivation, but underneath, so many are rooted in the belief that we’re not enough right now. We think if we’re more disciplined, more toned, more organized, more something, then maybe we’ll finally feel worthy. But what if the feeling we’re chasing was never hidden in a Pilates membership, greens

powders, or a perfect morning routine? What if the real work is learning to let ourselves be loved—even in the body we have today? I’ve started noticing how often I approach wellness like it’s a report card: how I eat, how I move, and whether I tick every box on my “healthy habits” list determine how good I feel about myself. It’s wild how quickly the pursuit of health can turn into pressure, and how pressure almost always disguises itself as self-improvement. But pressure has never made me healthier. It’s only made me frustrated that doing all the right things doesn’t lead to the outcomes I want. Last winter, despite wearing all the non-toxic sunscreen and eating a healthy diet, I still ended up getting diagnosed with skin cancer. Even though I followed the rules of staying healthy, it didn’t save me from the reality of my body being broken. It revealed to me that’s how I treat all of life, especially my faith. If I do all the right things, God should “bless me” with a healthy and happy life, right? But life has a way of undoing the illusion that we’re in control. Maybe that’s not a punishment, but an invitation to loosen our grip, to rethink what “healthy” and “blessed” even mean. Because when everything I can do still isn’t enough, maybe that’s exactly where grace does its best work—in the places where my effort finally runs out. The more I sat with it, the more I realized I had been treating God the same way I treated my wellness routines—as if the “right” habits, the “right” behaviors, and the “right” effort could somehow guarantee a certain kind of life. But His blessing has never worked like a vending machine. It doesn’t always look like health, ease, or everything going according to plan. And He certainly isn’t standing over me with a clipboard, waiting to see if I earn His approval. Instead, He offers something far better than the outcomes I’m trying to control: He offers Himself. A presence that doesn’t waver when my body changes, when my plans fall apart, or when I can’t hold everything together. A love that isn’t contingent on who I wish to be, but steady for who I actually am.

becomes a way of caring for the body He’s entrusted to me, not a way of earning something from Him. The pressure to get everything “right” loosens its grip because I’m no longer chasing perfection; I’m receiving presence. And in that shift, there’s room for kindness, patience, and the kind of grace that lets me be a person in progress instead of a project to fix. As I’ve started living in that place, I’ve noticed how it reshapes the way I see my body and my life. Instead of demanding it stay the same or perform the way it used to, I’m learning to honor each season. To listen to my body instead of scolding it. To let it change without assuming something is wrong. Because if God isn’t asking me to prove anything, maybe I can stop asking my body to prove something too. Maybe I can let it be what it is: a living, changing reminder that growth is allowed. This year, I’ll be stepping into a postpartum body I don’t fully recognize. But instead of rushing to try to make myself fit into my old jeans, I’m making a promise to myself to just go buy new ones. Because His love doesn’t depend on how well we measure up, and neither does our worth. This year, I want to live in that truth—and in jeans that actually fit.

A LYS B EAC H C RA FT E D 2 02 5 CRAFTED returned to Alys Beach as a spirited, multi-day celebration of culinary creativity, craftsmanship, and connection, set within the town’s signature white-masonry architecture. The weekend unfolded through a series of thoughtfully curated experiences, beginning with Firkin Fête. This intimate tasting brought together rare fifirrkin cask ales, craft brews, and chefdriven pairings in a relaxed, social setting. Guests browsed the Holiday Makers Market, where handmade goods, fifinne crafts, and seasonal fifinnds from regional artisans added a festive touch. Along the Pedestrian Path, the Spirited Soirée set the tone with elevated cocktails, live music, and coastal conversation. Pickleball & Picklebacks capped the weekend with a playful morning of friendly competition and briny refreshment—pickleback shots very much included. Equal parts refifinned and relaxed, CRAFTED once again showcased Alys Beach’s talent for blending thoughtful hospitality with unmistakable coastal style. A RT BAS E L M I AM I 2 02 5 Miami Art Week once again ignited the city with a dynamic convergence of contemporary art and global culture, draw ing collectors, creators, and tastemakers from around the world. Anchored by Art Basel Miami Beach, the week unfolded through a constellation of exhibitions and immersive moments across the city. Among the standout activations was the Hira Majeed Exhibition + Art Week from December 1–7, 2025, at the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, produced by The Dana Agency. Chicago-born multidisciplinary artist Hira Majeed transformed the Riviera and its terrace into a contemplative gallery, unveiling a week-long presentation of evocative paintings, sculptural works, and interactive pieces that explore love, loss, transformation, and the expressive tension between emotion and innovation. Among the highlights were textured land scapes, symbolic mixed-media installations, and a live painting activation that saw a life-size Cadillac F1 sculpture shift color with the light—a poe oettic embodiment of motion and stillness central to her practice. With open-air receptions, art in motion, and moments of genuine creative dialogue across Miami Beach, the exhibition captured the week's imaginative pulse and reaffi ffirrmed Miami’s role as a cultural crossroads.
